| Now we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. | Kinahanglan natong mga malig-on ang pagyayong sa mga kaluya sa mga mahuyang, ug dili ang pagpahimuot sa atong kaugalingon. |
| Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, unto edifying. | Ang matag-usa kanato kinahanglan magapahimuot sa iyang silingan alang sa kaayohan niini niya, aron sa paglig-on kaniya. |
| For Christ also pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell upon me. | Kay si Cristo bitaw wala man magpahimuot sa iyang kaugalingon, hinonoa, sumala sa nahisulat, "Nahulog kanako ang mga pakaulaw nga gihimo sa mga nagpakaulaw kanimo." |
| For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope. | Kay bisan unsay gisulat kaniadto, gisulat kini alang sa pagtuon kanato aron nga pinaagi sa pailub ug pinaagi sa paglipay gikan sa mga kasulatan makabaton unta kitag paglaum. |
| Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus: | Hinaut ang Dios sa pailub ug paglipay magahatag kaninyo sa panagkasama sa panghunahuna ang usa sa usa, pinasubay kang Cristo Jesus, |
| that with one accord ye may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. | aron nga pinaagi sa usa ka tingog managkahiusa kamo sa paghimaya sa Dios ug Amahan sa atong Ginoong Jesu-Cristo. |
| Wherefore receive ye one another, even as Christ also received you, to the glory of God. | Busa pagdinawatay kamo ang usa sa usa kaninyo, alang sa himaya sa Dios, maingon nga si Cristo midawat man kaninyo. |
| For I say that Christ hath been made a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the promises [given] unto the fathers, | Kay sultihan ko kamo nga si Cristo nahimong sulogoon ngadto sa mga may sirkunsisyon aron sa pagpakita sa pagkamatinuoron sa Dios, aron sa pagmatuod sa mga saad nga gihatag ngadto sa mga patriarca, |
| and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, Therefore will I give praise unto thee among the Gentiles, And sing unto thy name. | ug aron ang mga Gentil managhimaya sa Dios tungod sa iyang kalooy. Ingon sa nahisulat: Busa kanimo magadayeg ako taliwala sa mga Gentil, ug magaawit ako sa paghimaya sa imong ngalan"; |
| And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. | ug usab nagaingon: Pagkalipay kamo, O mga Gentil, uban sa iyang katawhan"; |
| And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; And let all the peoples praise him. | ug usab: Panagdayeg kamo sa Ginoo, kamong tanang mga Gentil, ug ipadalayeg siya sa tanang katawhan"; |
| And again, Isaiah saith, There shall be the root of Jesse, And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles; On him shall the Gentiles hope. | ug dugang pa, si Isaias nagaingon: Motungha ang gamut ni Jese, siya nga maoy mobarug aron sa paghari sa mga Gentil; kaniya managpanglaum ang mga Gentil." |
| Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit. | Hinaut ang Dios sa paglaum magapuno kaninyo sa tumang kalipay ug kalinaw tungod sa inyong pagtoo, aron nga pinaagi sa gahum sa Espiritu Santo magmadagayaon kamo sa paglaum. |
| And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. | Ug masaligon gayud ako mahitungod kaninyo, mga igsoon, nga kamo tugob sa pagkamaayo, napuno sa bug-os nga kahibalo, ug may katakus sa pagtinambagay ang usa sa usa. |
| But I write the more boldly unto you in some measure, as putting you again in remembrance, because of the grace that was given me of God, | Apan bahin sa pipila ka butang nagsulat ako kaninyo sa maisugon gayud agig pagpahinumdum kaninyo, tungod sa grasya nga gihatag kanako sa Dios |
| that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus unto the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit. | sa iyang paghimo kanako nga sulogoon ni Cristo Jesus ngadto sa mga Gentil, ingon nga sacerdote nagatanyag sa Maayong Balita mahitungod sa Dios, aron kahimut-an ang pagkahinalad sa mga Gentil, mabalaan pinaagi sa Espiritu Santo. |
| I have therefore my glorifying in Christ Jesus in things pertaining to God. | Busa, diha kang Cristo Jesus may katarungan ako sa pagpagarbo sa akong buhat alang sa Dios. |
| For I will not dare to speak of any things save those which Christ wrought through me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed, | Kay dili ko pangahasan ang paghisgot sa bisan unsa gawas lamang sa nabuhat ni Cristo pinaagi kanako sa pagdani sa mga Gentil ngadto sa pagkamasinugtanon, pinaagi sa pulong ug sa buhat, |
| in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and round about even unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ; | pinaagi sa gahum sa mga milagro ug sa mga katingalahan, pinaagi sa gahum sa Espiritu Santo, nga tungod niana natapus ko sa pagwali ang Maayong Balita mahitungod kang Cristo sukad sa Jerusalem hangtud sa kayutaan libut sa Ilirico, |
| yea, making it my aim so to preach the gospel, not where Christ was [already] named, that I might not build upon another man's foundation; | nga ang ingon niana mao ang akong paningkamot sa pagwali sa Maayong Balita, dili sa mga dapit diin nailhan na ang ngalan ni Cristo, aron dili ako makatukod ibabaw sa patukoranan nga gikapahimutang na sa ubang tawo; |
| but, as it is written, They shall see, to whom no tidings of him came, And they who have not heard shall understand. | hinonoa, sumala sa nahisulat, Managpakakita ang mga wala gayud kasuginli mahitungod kaniya, ug managpakasabut ang mga wala gayud makadungog mahitungod kaniya." |
| Wherefore also I was hindered these many times from coming to you: | Mao kini ang hinungdan ngano nga sa makadaghan napugngan ako sa pag-anha diha kaninyo. |
| but now, having no more any place in these regions, and having these many years a longing to come unto you, | Apan karon, sanglit niining mga dapita wala na man akoy luna nga kapangabudlayan pa, ug sanglit gipangandoy ko man gayud sulod na karon sa daghang katuigan ang pag-anha diha kaninyo, |
| whensoever I go unto Spain (for I hope to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first in some measure I shall have been satisfied with your company)-- | malaumon ako sa pagpakigkita kaninyo inig-agi ko diha paingon sa Espana, ug aron ikahatud ako ninyo sa akong paggikan paingon didto sa diha nga masinati ko na ang kalipay sa pagpakig-uban kaninyo sa makadiyot. |
| but now, I [say], I go unto Jerusalem, ministering unto the saints. | Hinoon, sa pagkakaron, nagapaingon pa ako sa Jerusalem sa paghatud ug tabang alang sa mga balaan. |
| For it hath been the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints that are at Jerusalem. | Kay gikalipay man ugod sa Macedonia ug Acaya ang paghimog amot alang sa mga kabus sa mga balaan didto sa Jerusalem. |
| Yea, it hath been their good pleasure; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it [to them] also to minister unto them in carnal things. | Gikalipay nila ang paghimo niini, ngani sa pagkatinuod sila mga utangan kanila. Kay kon ang mga Gentil nakaambit man sa espirituhanong mga panalangin nila, ila usab nga katungdanan ang pag-alagad kanila pinaagi sa ilang mga yutan-ong panalangin. |
| When therefore I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by you unto Spain. | Busa, inigkatapus ko niini, ug ikahatud ko na kanila ang nahipos nga mga amot, mopadayon ako paingon sa Espana ug mohapit diha kaninyo. |
| And I know that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of Christ. | Ug ako nahibalo nga inig-anha ko diha kaninyo, moanha ako uban sa katugod sa panalangin ni Cristo. |
| Now I beseech you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; | Hangyoon ko kamo, mga igsoon, tungod sa atong Ginoong Jesu-Cristo ug tungod sa gugma sa Espiritu, sa pagpanlimbasug uban kanako diha sa inyong mga pag-ampo ngadto sa Dios alang kanako, |
| that I may be delivered from them that are disobedient in Judaea, and [that] my ministration which [I have] for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints; | aron maluwas ako gikan sa mga dili matinoohon didto sa Judea, ug nga ang akong pag-alagad alang sa Jerusalem kahimut-an unta sa mga balaan, |
| that I may come unto you in joy through the will of God, and together with you find rest. | aron nga pinaagi sa kabobut-on sa Dios, kaninyo mahianha ako nga malipayon ug makapahulay diha sa pagpakig-uban kaninyo. |
| Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. | Hinaut ang Dios sa kalinaw magauban kaninyong tanan. Amen. |
