Psalms 108
|
My heart is fixed, O God; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises, even with my glory. | A Song. A Psalm. Of David.O God, my heart is fixed; I will make songs and melody, even with my glory. |
Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake right early. | Give out your sounds, O corded instruments: the dawn will be awaking with my song. |
I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah, among the peoples; And I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. | I will give you praise, O Lord, among the peoples; I will make melody to you among the nations. |
For thy lovingkindness is great above the heavens; And thy truth [reacheth] unto the skies. | For your mercy is higher than the heavens: and your unchanging faith than the clouds. |
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, And thy glory above all the earth. | Be lifted up, O God, higher than the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth. |
That thy beloved may be delivered, Save with thy right hand, and answer us. | Let your right hand be stretched out for salvation, and give me an answer, so that your loved ones may be safe from danger. |
God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult; I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. | This is the word of the holy God: I will be glad; I will make Shechem a heritage, measuring out the valley of Succoth. |
Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the defence of my head; Judah is my sceptre. | Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is the strength of my head; Judah is my law-giver; |
Moab is my washpot; Upon Edom will I cast my shoe; Over Philistia will I shout. | Moab is my washpot; on Edom is the resting-place of my shoe; over Philistia will I send out a glad cry. |
Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who hath led me unto Edom? | Who will take me into the strong town? who will be my guide into Edom? |
Hast not thou cast us off, O God? And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts. | Have you not sent us away from you, O God? and you go not out with our armies. |
Give us help against the adversary; For vain is the help of man. | Give us help in our trouble; for there is no help in man. |
Through God we shall do valiantly: For he it is that will tread down our adversaries. Psalm 109 For the Chief Musicion. A Psalm of David. | With God we will do great things; for by him will our haters be crushed underfoot. |
