|
| Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. | Tröstet, tröstet mein Volk! spricht euer Gott; |
| Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem; and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she hath received of Jehovah's hand double for all her sins. | redet mit Jerusalem freundlich und predigt ihr, daß ihre Dienstbarkeit ein Ende hat, denn ihre Missetat ist vergeben; denn sie hat Zwiefältiges empfangen von der Hand des HERRN für alle ihre Sünden. |
| The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for our God. | Es ist eine Stimme eines Predigers in der Wüste: Bereitet dem HERRN den Weg, macht auf dem Gefilde eine ebene Bahn unserm Gott! |
| Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain: | Alle Täler sollen erhöht werden und alle Berge und Hügel sollen erniedrigt werden, und was ungleich ist, soll eben, und was höckericht ist, soll schlicht werden; |
| and the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it. | denn die Herrlichkeit des HERRN soll offenbart werden, und alles Fleisch miteinander wird es sehen; denn des HERRN Mund hat es geredet. |
| The voice of one saying, Cry. And one said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field. | Es spricht eine Stimme: Predige! Und er sprach: Was soll ich predigen? Alles Fleisch ist Gras, und alle seine Güte ist wie eine Blume auf dem Felde. |
| The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, because the breath of Jehovah bloweth upon it; surely the people is grass. | Das Gras verdorrt, die Blume verwelkt; denn des HERRN Geist bläst darein. Ja, das Volk ist das Gras. |
| The grass withereth, the flower fadeth; but the word of our God shall stand forever. | Das Gras verdorrt, die Blume verwelkt; aber das Wort unsres Gottes bleibt ewiglich. |
| O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion, get thee up on a high mountain; O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold, your God! | Zion, du Predigerin, steig auf deinen hohen Berg; Jerusalem, du Predigerin, hebe deine Stimme auf mit Macht, hebe auf und fürchte dich nicht; sage den Städten Juda's: Siehe, da ist euer Gott! |
| Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him: Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. | Denn siehe, der HERR HERR kommt gewaltig, und sein Arm wird herrschen. Siehe, sein Lohn ist bei ihm und seine Vergeltung ist vor ihm. |
| He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, [and] will gently lead those that have their young. | Er wird seine Herde weiden wie ein Hirte; er wird die Lämmer in seine Arme sammeln und in seinem Busen tragen und die Schafmütter führen. |
| Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? | Wer mißt die Wasser mit der hohlen Hand und faßt den Himmel mit der Spanne und begreift den Staub der Erde mit einem Dreiling und wägt die Berge mit einem Gewicht und die Hügel mit einer Waage? |
| Who hath directed the Spirit of Jehovah, or being his counsellor hath taught him? | Wer unterrichtet den Geist des HERRN, und welcher Ratgeber unterweist ihn? |
| With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding? | Wen fragt er um Rat, der ihm Verstand gebe und lehre ihn den Weg des Rechts und lehre ihn die Erkenntnis und unterweise ihn den Weg des Verstandes? |
| Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are accounted as the small dust of the balance: Behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing. | Siehe, die Heiden sind geachtet wie ein Tropfen, so im Eimer bleibt, und wie ein Scherflein, so in der Waage bleibt. Siehe, die Inseln sind wie ein Stäublein. |
| And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt-offering. | Der Libanon wäre zu gering zum Feuer und seine Tiere zu gering zum Brandopfer. |
| All the nations are as nothing before him; they are accounted by him as less than nothing, and vanity. | Alle Heiden sind vor ihm nichts und wie ein Nichtiges und Eitles geachtet. |
| To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? | Wem wollt ihr denn Gott nachbilden? Oder was für ein Gleichnis wollt ihr ihm zurichten? |
| The image, a workman hath cast [it], and the goldsmith overlayeth it with gold, and casteth [for it] silver chains. | Der Meister gießt wohl ein Bild, und der Goldschmied übergoldet's und macht silberne Ketten daran. |
| He that is too impoverished for [such] an oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a skilful workman to set up a graven image, that shall not be moved. | Desgleichen wer nur eine arme Gabe vermag, der wählt ein Holz, das nicht fault, und sucht einen klugen Meister dazu, der ein Bild fertige, das beständig sei. |
| Have ye not known? have yet not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? | Wisset ihr nicht? Hört ihr nicht? Ist's euch nicht vormals verkündigt? Habt ihr's nicht verstanden von Anbeginn der Erde? |
| [It is] he that sitteth above the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in; | Er sitzt auf dem Kreis der Erde, und die darauf wohnen, sind wie Heuschrecken; der den Himmel ausdehnt wie ein dünnes Fell und breitet ihn aus wie eine Hütte, darin man wohnt; |
| that bringeth princes to nothing; that maketh the judges of the earth as vanity. | Der die Fürsten zunichte macht und die Richter auf Erden eitel macht, |
| Yea, they have not been planted; yea, they have not been sown; yea, their stock hath not taken root in the earth: moreover he bloweth upon them, and they wither, and the whirlwind taketh them away as stubble. | als wären sie nicht gepflanzt noch gesät und als hätte ihr Stamm keine Wurzel in der Erde, daß sie, wo ein Wind unter sie weht, verdorren und sie ein Windwirbel wie Stoppeln wegführt. |
| To whom then will ye liken me, that I should be equal [to him]? saith the Holy One. | Wem wollt ihr denn mich nachbilden, dem ich gleich sei? spricht der Heilige. |
| Lift up your eyes on high, and see who hath created these, that bringeth out their host by number; he calleth them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and for that he is strong in power, not one is lacking. | Hebet eure Augen in die Höhe und sehet! Wer hat solche Dinge geschaffen und führt ihr Heer bei der Zahl heraus? Er ruft sie alle mit Namen; sein Vermögen und seine Kraft ist so groß, daß es nicht an einem fehlen kann. |
| Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from Jehovah, and the justice [due] to me is passed away from my God? | Warum sprichst du denn, Jakob, und du, Israel, sagst: Mein Weg ist dem HERRN verborgen, und mein Recht geht vor meinem Gott vorüber? |
| Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard? The everlasting God, Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary; there is no searching of his understanding. | Weißt du nicht? hast du nicht gehört? Der HERR, der ewige Gott, der die Enden der Erde geschaffen hat, wird nicht müde noch matt; sein Verstand ist unausforschlich. |
| He giveth power to the faint; and to him that hath no might he increaseth strength. | Er gibt den Müden Kraft, und Stärke genug dem Unvermögenden. |
| Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: | Die Knaben werden müde und matt, und die Jünglinge fallen; |
| but they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint. | aber die auf den HERRN harren, kriegen neue Kraft, daß sie auffahren mit Flügeln wie Adler, daß sie laufen und nicht matt werden, daß sie wandeln und nicht müde werden. |
