Daniel 1:1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.	Daniele 1:1 Il terzo anno del regno di Joiakim, re di Giuda, Nebucadnetsar, re di Babilonia, venne contro Gerusalemme, e l’assediò.
Daniel 1:2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God; and he carried them into the land of Shinar to the house of his god: and he brought the vessels into the treasure-house of his god.	Daniele 1:2 Il Signore gli diede nelle mani Joiakim, re di Giuda, e una parte degli utensili della casa di Dio; e Nebucadnetsar portò gli utensili nel paese di Scinear, nella casa del suo dio, e li mise nella casa del tesoro del suo dio.
Daniel 1:3 And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring in [certain] of the children of Israel, even of the seed royal and of the nobles;	Daniele 1:3 E il re disse a Ashpenaz, capo de’ suoi eunuchi, di menargli alcuni de’ figliuoli d’Israele di stirpe reale e di famiglie nobili,
Daniel 1:4 youths in whom was no blemish, but well-favored, and skilful in all wisdom, and endued with knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability to stand in the king's palace; and that he should teach them the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.	Daniele 1:4 giovani senza difetti fisici, belli d’aspetto, dotati d’ogni sorta di talenti, istruiti e intelligenti, tali che avessero attitudine a stare nel palazzo del re; e d’insegnar loro la letteratura e la lingua de’ Caldei.
Daniel 1:5 And the king appointed for them a daily portion of the king's dainties, and of the wine which he drank, and that they should be nourished three years; that at the end thereof they should stand before the king.	Daniele 1:5 Il re assegnò loro una porzione giornaliera delle vivande della mensa reale, e del vino ch’egli beveva; e disse di mantenerli per tre anni, dopo i quali sarebbero passati al servizio del re.
Daniel 1:6 Now among these were, of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.	Daniele 1:6 Or fra questi c’erano, di tra i figliuoli di Giuda, Daniele, Hanania, Mishael e Azaria;
Daniel 1:7 And the prince of the eunuchs gave names unto them: unto Daniel he gave [the name of] Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, [of] Shadrach; and to Mishael, [of] Meshach; and to Azariah, [of] Abed-nego.	Daniele 1:7 e il capo degli eunuchi diede loro altri nomi: a Daniele pose nome Beltsatsar; ad Hanania, Shadrac; a Mishael, Meshac, e ad Azaria, Abed-nego.
Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's dainties, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.	Daniele 1:8 E Daniele prese in cuor suo la risoluzione di non contaminarsi con le vivande del re e col vino che il re beveva; e chiese al capo degli eunuchi di non obbligarlo a contaminarsi;
Daniel 1:9 Now God made Daniel to find kindness and compassion in the sight of the prince of the eunuchs.	Daniele 1:9 e Dio fece trovare a Daniele grazia e compassione presso il capo degli eunuchi.
Daniel 1:10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your food and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse looking than the youths that are of your own age? so would ye endanger my head with the king.	Daniele 1:10 E il capo degli eunuchi disse a Daniele: "Io temo il re, mio signore, il quale ha fissato il vostro cibo e le vostre bevande; e perché vedrebb’egli il vostro volto più triste di quello dei giovani della vostra medesima età? Voi mettereste in pericolo la mia testa presso il re".
Daniel 1:11 Then said Daniel to the steward whom the prince of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:	Daniele 1:11 Allora Daniele disse al maggiordomo, al quale il capo degli eunuchi aveva affidato la cura di Daniele, di Hanania, di Mishael e d’Azaria:
Daniel 1:12 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.	Daniele 1:12 "Ti prego, fa’ coi tuoi servi una prova di dieci giorni, e ci siano dati de’ legumi per mangiare, e dell’acqua per bere;
Daniel 1:13 Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the youths that eat of the king's dainties; and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.	Daniele 1:13 poi ti si faccia vedere l’aspetto nostro e l’aspetto de’ giovani che mangiano le vivande del re; e secondo quel che vedrai, ti regolerai coi tuoi servi".
Daniel 1:14 So he hearkened unto them in this matter, and proved them ten days.	Daniele 1:14 Quegli accordò loro quanto domandavano, e li mise alla prova per dieci giorni.
Daniel 1:15 And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer, and they were fatter in flesh, than all the youths that did eat of the king's dainties.	Daniele 1:15 E alla fine de’ dieci giorni, essi avevano migliore aspetto ed erano più grassi di tutti i giovani che aveano mangiato le vivande del re.
Daniel 1:16 So the steward took away their dainties, and the wine that they should drink, and gave them pulse.	Daniele 1:16 Così il maggiordomo portò via il cibo e il vino ch’eran loro destinati, e dette loro de’ legumi.
Daniel 1:17 Now as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.	Daniele 1:17 E a tutti questi quattro giovani Iddio dette conoscenza e intelligenza in tutta la letteratura, e sapienza; e Daniele s’intendeva d’ogni sorta di visioni e di sogni.
Daniel 1:18 And at the end of the days which the king had appointed for bringing them in, the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.	Daniele 1:18 E alla fine del tempo fissato dal re perché que’ giovani gli fossero menati, il capo degli eunuchi li presentò a Nebucadnetsar.
Daniel 1:19 And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.	Daniele 1:19 Il re parlò con loro; e fra tutti que’ giovani non se ne trovò alcuno che fosse come Daniele, Hanania, Mishael e Azaria; e questi furono ammessi al servizio del re.
Daniel 1:20 And in every matter of wisdom and understanding, concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his realm.	Daniele 1:20 E su tutti i punti che richiedevano sapienza e intelletto, e sui quali il re li interrogasse, il re li trovava dieci volte superiori a tutti i magi ed astrologi ch’erano in tutto il suo regno.
Daniel 1:21 And Daniel continued even unto the first year of king Cyrus.	Daniele 1:21 Così continuò Daniele fino al primo anno del re Ciro.
