Psalmen 78:1 Höre, mein Volk, mein Gesetz; neigt eure Ohren zu der Rede meines Mundes!	Psalms 78:1 Maschil of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my law: Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
Psalmen 78:2 Ich will meinen Mund auftun zu Sprüchen und alte Geschichten aussprechen,	Psalms 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,
Psalmen 78:3 die wir gehört haben und wissen und unsre Väter uns erzählt haben,	Psalms 78:3 Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.
Psalmen 78:4 daß wir's nicht verhalten sollten ihren Kindern, die hernach kommen, und verkündigten den Ruhm des HERRN und seine Macht und seine Wunder, die er getan hat.	Psalms 78:4 We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of Jehovah, And his strength, and his wondrous works that he hath done.
Psalmen 78:5 Er richtete ein Zeugnis auf in Jakob und gab ein Gesetz in Israel, das er unsern Vätern gebot zu lehren ihre Kinder,	Psalms 78:5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which he commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children;
Psalmen 78:6 auf daß es die Nachkommen lernten und die Kinder, die noch sollten geboren werden; wenn sie aufkämen, daß sie es auch ihren Kinder verkündigten,	Psalms 78:6 That the generation to come might know [them], even the children that should be born; Who should arise and tell [them] to their children,
Psalmen 78:7 daß sie setzten auf Gott ihre Hoffnung und nicht vergäßen der Taten Gottes und seine Gebote hielten	Psalms 78:7 That they might set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep his commandments,
Psalmen 78:8 und nicht würden wie ihre Väter, eine abtrünnige und ungehorsame Art, welchen ihr Herz nicht fest war und ihr Geist nicht treulich hielt an Gott,	Psalms 78:8 And might not be as their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that set not their heart aright, And whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
Psalmen 78:9 wie die Kinder Ephraim, die geharnischt den Bogen führten, abfielen zur Zeit des Streits.	Psalms 78:9 The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, Turned back in the day of battle.
Psalmen 78:10 Sie hielten den Bund Gottes nicht und wollten nicht in seinem Gesetz wandeln	Psalms 78:10 They kept not the covenant of God, And refused to walk in his law;
Psalmen 78:11 und vergaßen seiner Taten und seiner Wunder, die er ihnen erzeigt hatte.	Psalms 78:11 And they forgat his doings, And his wondrous works that he had showed them.
Psalmen 78:12 Vor ihren Vätern tat er Wunder in Ägyptenland, im Felde Zoan.	Psalms 78:12 Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, In the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
Psalmen 78:13 Er zerteilte das Meer und ließ sie hindurchgehen und stellte das Wasser wie eine Mauer.	Psalms 78:13 He clave the sea, and caused them to pass through; And he made the waters to stand as a heap.
Psalmen 78:14 Er leitete sie des Tages mit einer Wolke und des Nachts mit einem hellen Feuer.	Psalms 78:14 In the day-time also he led them with a cloud, And all the night with a light of fire.
Psalmen 78:15 Er riß die Felsen in der Wüste und tränkte sie mit Wasser die Fülle	Psalms 78:15 He clave rocks in the wilderness, And gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths.
Psalmen 78:16 und ließ Bäche aus den Felsen fließen, daß sie hinabflossen wie Wasserströme.	Psalms 78:16 He brought streams also out of the rock, And caused waters to run down like rivers.
Psalmen 78:17 Dennoch sündigten sie weiter gegen ihn und erzürnten den Höchsten in der Wüste	Psalms 78:17 Yet went they on still to sin against him, To rebel against the Most High in the desert.
Psalmen 78:18 und versuchten Gott in ihrem Herzen, daß sie Speise forderten für ihre Seelen,	Psalms 78:18 And they tempted God in their heart By asking food according to their desire.
Psalmen 78:19 und redeten gegen Gott und sprachen: "Ja, Gott sollte wohl können einen Tisch bereiten in der Wüste?	Psalms 78:19 Yea, they spake against God; They said, Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?
Psalmen 78:20 Siehe, er hat wohl den Felsen geschlagen, daß Wasser flossen und Bäche sich ergossen; aber wie kann er Brot geben und seinem Volke Fleisch verschaffen?"	Psalms 78:20 Behold, he smote the rock, so that waters gushed out, And streams overflowed; Can he give bread also? Will he provide flesh for his people?
Psalmen 78:21 Da nun das der HERR hörte, entbrannte er, und Feuer ging an in Jakob, und Zorn kam über Israel,	Psalms 78:21 Therefore Jehovah heard, and was wroth; And a fire was kindled against Jacob, And anger also went up against Israel;
Psalmen 78:22 daß sie nicht glaubten an Gott und hofften nicht auf seine Hilfe.	Psalms 78:22 Because they believed not in God, And trusted not in his salvation.
Psalmen 78:23 Und er gebot den Wolken droben und tat auf die Türen des Himmels	Psalms 78:23 Yet he commanded the skies above, And opened the doors of heaven;
Psalmen 78:24 und ließ das Man auf sie regnen, zu essen, und gab ihnen Himmelsbrot.	Psalms 78:24 And he rained down manna upon them to eat, And gave them food from heaven.
Psalmen 78:25 Sie aßen Engelbrot; er sandte ihnen Speise die Fülle.	Psalms 78:25 Man did eat the bread of the mighty: He sent them food to the full.
Psalmen 78:26 Er ließ wehen den Ostwind unter dem Himmel und erregte durch seine Stärke den Südwind	Psalms 78:26 He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens; And by his power he guided the south wind.
Psalmen 78:27 und ließ Fleisch auf sie regnen wie Staub und Vögel wie Sand am Meer	Psalms 78:27 He rained flesh also upon them as the dust, And winged birds as the sand of the seas:
Psalmen 78:28 und ließ sie fallen unter ihr Lager allenthalben, da sie wohnten.	Psalms 78:28 And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, Round about their habitations.
Psalmen 78:29 Da aßen sie und wurden allzu satt; er ließ sie ihre Lust büßen.	Psalms 78:29 So they did eat, and were well filled; And he gave them their own desire.
Psalmen 78:30 Da sie nun ihre Lust gebüßt hatten und noch davon aßen,	Psalms 78:30 They were not estranged from that which they desired, Their food was yet in their mouths,
Psalmen 78:31 da kam der Zorn Gottes über sie und erwürgte die Vornehmsten unter ihnen und schlug darnieder die Besten in Israel.	Psalms 78:31 When the anger of God went up against them, And slew of the fattest of them, And smote down the young men of Israel.
Psalmen 78:32 Aber über das alles sündigten sie noch mehr und glaubten nicht an seine Wunder.	Psalms 78:32 For all this they sinned still, And believed not in his wondrous works.
Psalmen 78:33 Darum ließ er sie dahinsterben, daß sie nichts erlangten und mußten ihr Leben lang geplagt sein.	Psalms 78:33 Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, And their years in terror.
Psalmen 78:34 Wenn er sie erwürgte, suchten sie ihn und kehrten sich zu Gott	Psalms 78:34 When he slew them, then they inquired after him; And they returned and sought God earnestly.
Psalmen 78:35 und gedachten, daß Gott ihr Hort ist und Gott der Höchste ihr Erlöser ist,	Psalms 78:35 And they remembered that God was their rock, And the Most High God their redeemer.
Psalmen 78:36 und heuchelten mit ihrem Munde und logen ihm mit ihrer Zunge;	Psalms 78:36 But they flattered him with their mouth, And lied unto him with their tongue.
Psalmen 78:37 aber ihr Herz war nicht fest an ihm, und hielten nicht treulich an seinem Bund.	Psalms 78:37 For their heart was not right with him, Neither were they faithful in his covenant.
Psalmen 78:38 Er aber war barmherzig und vergab die Missetat und vertilgte sie nicht und wandte oft seinen Zorn ab und ließ nicht seinen ganzen Zorn gehen.	Psalms 78:38 But he, being merciful, forgave [their] iniquity, and destroyed [them] not: Yea, many a time turned he his anger away, And did not stir up all his wrath.
Psalmen 78:39 Denn er gedachte, daß sie Fleisch sind, ein Wind, der dahinfährt und nicht wiederkommt.	Psalms 78:39 And he remembered that they were but flesh, A wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.
Psalmen 78:40 Wie oft erzürnten sie ihn in der Wüste und entrüsteten ihn in der Einöde!	Psalms 78:40 How oft did they rebel against him in the wilderness, And grieve him in the desert!
Psalmen 78:41 Sie versuchten Gott immer wieder und meisterten den Heiligen in Israel.	Psalms 78:41 And they turned again and tempted God, And provoked the Holy One of Israel.
Psalmen 78:42 Sie gedachten nicht an seine Hand des Tages, da er sie erlöste von den Feinden;	Psalms 78:42 They remember not his hand, Nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary;
Psalmen 78:43 wie er denn seine Zeichen in Ägypten getan hatte und seine Wunder im Lande Zoan;	Psalms 78:43 How he set his signs in Egypt, And his wonders in the field of Zoan,
Psalmen 78:44 da er ihr Wasser in Blut wandelte, daß sie ihre Bäche nicht trinken konnten;	Psalms 78:44 And turned their rivers into blood, And their streams, so that they could not drink.
Psalmen 78:45 da er Ungeziefer unter sie schickte, daß sie fraß, und Frösche, die sie verderbten,	Psalms 78:45 He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them; And frogs, which destroyed them.
Psalmen 78:46 und gab ihre Gewächse den Raupen und ihre Saat den Heuschrecken;	Psalms 78:46 He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar, And their labor unto the locust.
Psalmen 78:47 da er ihre Weinstöcke mit Hagel schlug und ihre Maulbeerbäume mit Schloßen;	Psalms 78:47 He destroyed their vines with hail, And their sycomore-trees with frost.
Psalmen 78:48 da er ihr Vieh schlug mit Hagel und ihre Herden mit Wetterstrahlen;	Psalms 78:48 He gave over their cattle also to the hail, And their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
Psalmen 78:49 da er böse Engel unter sie sandte in seinem grimmigen Zorn und ließ sie toben und wüten und Leid tun;	Psalms 78:49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, Wrath, and indignation, and trouble, A band of angels of evil.
Psalmen 78:50 da er seinen Zorn ließ fortgehen und ihre Seele vor dem Tode nicht verschonte und übergab ihr Leben der Pestilenz;	Psalms 78:50 He made a path for his anger; He spared not their soul from death, But gave their life over to the pestilence,
Psalmen 78:51 da er alle Erstgeburt in Ägypten schlug, die Erstlinge ihrer Kraft in den Hütten Hams,	Psalms 78:51 And smote all the first-born in Egypt, The chief of their strength in the tents of Ham.
Psalmen 78:52 und ließ sein Volk ausziehen wie die Schafe und führte sie wie eine Herde in der Wüste.	Psalms 78:52 But he led forth his own people like sheep, And guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
Psalmen 78:53 Und leitete sie sicher, daß sie sich nicht fürchteten; aber ihre Feinde bedeckte das Meer.	Psalms 78:53 And he led them safely, so that they feared not; But the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
Psalmen 78:54 Und er brachte sie zu seiner heiligen Grenze, zu diesem Berge, den seine Rechte erworben hat,	Psalms 78:54 And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, To this mountain, which his right hand had gotten.
Psalmen 78:55 und vertrieb vor ihnen her die Völker und ließ ihnen das Erbe austeilen und ließ in jener Hütten die Stämme Israels wohnen.	Psalms 78:55 He drove out the nations also before them, And allotted them for an inheritance by line, And made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
Psalmen 78:56 Aber sie versuchten und erzürnten Gott den Höchsten und hielten ihre Zeugnisse nicht	Psalms 78:56 Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, And kept not his testimonies;
Psalmen 78:57 und fielen zurück und verachteten alles wie ihre Väter und hielten nicht, gleichwie ein loser Bogen,	Psalms 78:57 But turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers: They were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
Psalmen 78:58 und erzürnten ihn mit ihren Höhen und reizten ihn mit ihren Götzen.	Psalms 78:58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places, And moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
Psalmen 78:59 Und da das Gott hörte, entbrannte er und verwarf Israel ganz,	Psalms 78:59 When God heard [this], he was wroth, And greatly abhorred Israel;
Psalmen 78:60 daß er seine Wohnung zu Silo ließ fahren, die Hütte, da er unter Menschen wohnte,	Psalms 78:60 So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, The tent which he placed among men;
Psalmen 78:61 und gab seine Macht ins Gefängnis und seine Herrlichkeit in die Hand des Feindes	Psalms 78:61 And delivered his strength into captivity, And his glory into the adversary's hand.
Psalmen 78:62 und übergab sein Volk ins Schwert und entbrannte über sein Erbe.	Psalms 78:62 He gave his people over also unto the sword, And was wroth with his inheritance.
Psalmen 78:63 Ihre junge Mannschaft fraß das Feuer, und ihre Jungfrauen mußten ungefreit bleiben.	Psalms 78:63 Fire devoured their young men; And their virgins had no marriage-song.
Psalmen 78:64 Ihre Priester fielen durchs Schwert, und waren keine Witwen, die da weinen sollten.	Psalms 78:64 Their priests fell by the sword; And their widows made no lamentation.
Psalmen 78:65 Und der HERR erwachte wie ein Schlafender, wie ein Starker jauchzt, der vom Wein kommt,	Psalms 78:65 Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, Like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.
Psalmen 78:66 und schlug seine Feinde zurück und hängte ihnen ewige Schande an.	Psalms 78:66 And he smote his adversaries backward: He put them to a perpetual reproach.
Psalmen 78:67 Und er verwarf die Hütte Josephs und erwählte nicht den Stamm Ephraim,	Psalms 78:67 Moreover he refused the tent of Joseph, And chose not the tribe of Ephraim,
Psalmen 78:68 sondern erwählte den Stamm Juda, den Berg Zion, welchen er liebte.	Psalms 78:68 But chose the tribe of Judah, The mount Zion which he loved.
Psalmen 78:69 Und baute sein Heiligtum hoch, wie die Erde, die ewiglich fest stehen soll.	Psalms 78:69 And he built his sanctuary like the heights, Like the earth which he hath established for ever.
Psalmen 78:70 Und erwählte seinen Knecht David und nahm ihn von den Schafställen;	Psalms 78:70 He chose David also his servant, And took him from the sheepfolds:
Psalmen 78:71 von den säugenden Schafen holte er ihn, daß er sein Volk Jakob weiden sollte und sein Erbe Israel.	Psalms 78:71 From following the ewes that have their young he brought him, To be the shepherd of Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.
Psalmen 78:72 Und er weidete sie auch mit aller Treue und regierte mit allem Fleiß.	Psalms 78:72 So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.
