Deuteronomium 25:1 Wenn ein Hader ist zwischen Männern, so soll man sie vor Gericht bringen und sie richten und den Gerechten gerecht sprechen und den Gottlosen verdammen.	Deuteronomy 25:1 If there is an argument between men and they go to law with one another, let the judges give their decision for the upright, and against the wrongdoer.
Deuteronomium 25:2 Und so der Gottlose Schläge verdient hat, soll ihn doch der Richter heißen niederfallen, und man soll ihm vor dem Richter eine Zahl Schläge geben nach dem Maß seiner Missetat.	Deuteronomy 25:2 And if the wrongdoer is to undergo punishment by whipping, the judge will give orders for him to go down on his face and be whipped before him, the number of the blows being in relation to his crime.
Deuteronomium 25:3 Wenn man ihm vierzig Schläge gegeben hat, soll man ihn nicht mehr schlagen, auf daß nicht, so man mehr Schläge gibt, er zuviel geschlagen werde und dein Bruder verächtlich vor deinen Augen sei.	Deuteronomy 25:3 He may be given forty blows, not more; for if more are given, your brother may be shamed before you.
Deuteronomium 25:4 Du sollst dem Ochsen, der da drischt, nicht das Maul verbinden.	Deuteronomy 25:4 Do not keep the ox from taking the grain when he is crushing it.
Deuteronomium 25:5 Wenn Brüder beieinander wohnen und einer stirbt ohne Kinder, so soll des Verstorbenen Weib nicht einen fremden Mann draußen nehmen; sondern ihr Schwager soll sich zu ihr tun und sie zum Weibe nehmen und sie ehelichen.	Deuteronomy 25:5 If brothers are living together and one of them, at his death, has no son, the wife of the dead man is not to be married outside the family to another man: let her husband's brother go in to her and make her his wife, doing as it is right for a brother-in-law to do.
Deuteronomium 25:6 Und den ersten Sohn, den sie gebiert, soll er bestätigen nach dem Namen seines verstorbenen Bruders, daß sein Name nicht vertilgt werde aus Israel.	Deuteronomy 25:6 Then the first male child she has will take the rights of the brother who is dead, so that his name may not come to an end in Israel.
Deuteronomium 25:7 Gefällt es aber dem Mann nicht, daß er sein Schwägerin nehme, so soll sie, seine Schwägerin hinaufgehen unter das Tor vor die Ältesten und sagen: Mein Schwager weigert sich, seinem Bruder einen Namen zu erwecken in Israel, und will mich nicht ehelichen.	Deuteronomy 25:7 But if the man says he will not take his brother's wife, then let the wife go to the responsible men of the town, and say, My husband's brother will not keep his brother's name living in Israel; he will not do what it is right for a husband's brother to do.
Deuteronomium 25:8 So sollen ihn die Ältesten der Stadt fordern und mit ihm reden. Wenn er dann darauf besteht und spricht: Es gefällt mir nicht, sie zu nehmen,	Deuteronomy 25:8 Then the responsible men of the town will send for the man, and have talk with him: and if he still says, I will not take her;
Deuteronomium 25:9 so soll seine Schwägerin zu ihm treten vor den Ältesten und ihm einen Schuh ausziehen von seinen Füßen und ihn anspeien und soll antworten und sprechen: Also soll man tun einem jeden Mann, der seines Bruders Haus nicht erbauen will!	Deuteronomy 25:9 Then his brother's wife is to come to him, before the responsible men of the town, and take his shoe off his foot, and put shame on him, and say, So let it be done to the man who will not take care of his brother's name.
Deuteronomium 25:10 Und sein Namen soll in Israel heißen "des Barfüßers Haus".	Deuteronomy 25:10 And his family will be named in Israel, The house of him whose shoe has been taken off.
Deuteronomium 25:11 Wenn zwei Männer miteinander hadern und des einen Weib läuft zu, daß sie ihren Mann errette von der Hand dessen, der ihn schlägt, und streckt ihre Hand aus und ergreift ihn bei seiner Scham,	Deuteronomy 25:11 If two men are fighting, and the wife of one of them, coming to the help of her husband, takes the other by the private parts;
Deuteronomium 25:12 so sollst du ihr die Hand abhauen, und dein Auge soll sie nicht verschonen.	Deuteronomy 25:12 Her hand is to be cut off; have no pity on her.
Deuteronomium 25:13 Du sollst nicht zweierlei Gewicht in deinem Sack, groß und klein, haben;	Deuteronomy 25:13 Do not have in your bag different weights, a great and a small;
Deuteronomium 25:14 und in deinem Hause soll nicht zweierlei Scheffel, groß und klein, sein.	Deuteronomy 25:14 Or in your house different measures, a great and a small.
Deuteronomium 25:15 Du sollst ein völlig und recht Gewicht und einen völligen und rechten Scheffel haben, auf daß dein Leben lange währe in dem Lande, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, geben wird.	Deuteronomy 25:15 But have a true weight and a true measure: so that your life may be long in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
Deuteronomium 25:16 Denn wer solches tut, der ist dem HERRN, deinem Gott, ein Greuel wie alle, die übel tun.	Deuteronomy 25:16 For all who do such things, and all whose ways are not upright, are disgusting to the Lord your God.
Deuteronomium 25:17 Gedenke was dir die Amalekiter taten auf dem Wege, da ihr aus Ägypten zoget,	Deuteronomy 25:17 Keep in mind what Amalek did to you on your way from Egypt;
Deuteronomium 25:18 wie sie dich angriffen auf dem Wege und schlugen die letzten deines Heeres, alle die Schwachen, die dir hinten nachzogen, da du müde und matt warst, und fürchteten Gott nicht.	Deuteronomy 25:18 How, meeting you on the way, he made an attack on you when you were tired and without strength, cutting off all the feeble ones at the end of your line; and the fear of God was not in him.
Deuteronomium 25:19 Wenn nun der HERR, dein Gott, dich zur Ruhe bringt von allen deinen Feinden umher im Lande, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, gibt zum Erbe einzunehmen, so sollst du das Gedächtnis der Amalekiter austilgen unter dem Himmel. Das vergiß nicht!	Deuteronomy 25:19 So when the Lord your God has given you rest from all who are against you on every side, in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for your heritage, see to it that the memory of Amalek is cut off from the earth; keep this in mind.
