Deuteronomium 4:1 Und nun höre, Israel, die Gebote und Rechte, die ich euch lehre, daß ihr sie tun sollt, auf daß ihr lebt und hineinkommet und das Land einnehmet, das euch der HERR, eurer Väter Gott, gibt.	Deuteronomy 4:1 And now give ear, O Israel, to the laws and the decisions which I am teaching you, and do them; so that life may be yours, and you may go in and take for yourselves the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you.
Deuteronomium 4:2 Ihr sollt nichts dazutun zu dem, was ich euch gebiete, und sollt auch nichts davontun, auf daß ihr bewahren möget die Gebote des HERRN, eures Gottes, die ich euch gebiete.	Deuteronomy 4:2 Make no addition to the orders which I give you, and take nothing from them, but keep the orders of the Lord your God which I give you.
Deuteronomium 4:3 Eure Augen haben gesehen, was der HERR getan hat wider den Baal-Peor; denn alle, die dem Baal-Peor folgten, hat der HERR, dein Gott, vertilgt unter euch.	Deuteronomy 4:3 Your eyes have seen what the Lord did because of Baal-peor: for destruction came from the Lord on all those among you who went after Baal-peor.
Deuteronomium 4:4 Aber ihr, die ihr dem HERRN, eurem Gott, anhinget, lebt alle heutigestages.	Deuteronomy 4:4 But you who kept faith with the Lord are living, every one of you, today.
Deuteronomium 4:5 Siehe, ich habe euch gelehrt Gebote und Rechte, wie mir der HERR, mein Gott, geboten hat, daß ihr also tun sollt in dem Lande, darein ihr kommen werdet, daß ihr's einnehmet.	Deuteronomy 4:5 I have been teaching you laws and decisions, as I was ordered to do by the Lord my God, so that you might keep them in the land to which you are going to take it for your heritage.
Deuteronomium 4:6 So behaltet's nun und tut es. Denn das wird eure Weisheit und Verstand sein bei allen Völkern, wenn sie hören werden alle diese Gebote, daß sie müssen sagen: Ei, welch weise und verständige Leute sind das und ein herrlich Volk!	Deuteronomy 4:6 So keep these laws and do them; for so will your wisdom and good sense be clear in the eyes of the peoples, who hearing all these laws will say, Truly, this great nation is a wise and far-seeing people.
Deuteronomium 4:7 Denn wo ist so ein herrlich Volk, zu dem Götter also nahe sich tun als der HERR, unser Gott, so oft wir ihn anrufen?	Deuteronomy 4:7 For what great nation has a god so near to them as the Lord our God is, whenever we are turned to him in prayer?
Deuteronomium 4:8 Und wo ist so ein herrlich Volk, das so gerechte Sitten und Gebote habe wie all dies Gesetz, daß ich euch heutigestages vorlege?	Deuteronomy 4:8 And what great nation has laws and decisions so right as all this law which I put before you today?
Deuteronomium 4:9 Hüte dich nur und bewahre deine Seele wohl, daß du nicht vergessest der Geschichten, die deine Augen gesehen haben, und daß sie nicht aus deinem Herzen kommen all dein Leben lang. Und sollst deinen Kindern und Kindeskindern kundtun	Deuteronomy 4:9 Only take care, and keep watch on your soul, for fear that the things which your eyes have seen go from your memory and from your heart all the days of your life; but let the knowledge of them be given to your children and to your children's children;
Deuteronomium 4:10 den Tag, da du vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott, standest am Berge Horeb, da der HERR zu mir sagte: Versammle mir das Volk, daß sie meine Worte hören und lernen mich fürchten alle ihre Lebtage auf Erden und lehren ihre Kinder.	Deuteronomy 4:10 That day when you were waiting before the Lord your God in Horeb, and the Lord said to me, Make all the people come together, so that hearing my words they may go in fear of me all the days of their life on earth and give this teaching to their children.
Deuteronomium 4:11 Und ihr tratet herzu und standet unten an dem Berge; der Berg brannte aber bis mitten an den Himmel, und war da Finsternis, Wolken und Dunkel.	Deuteronomy 4:11 And you came near, waiting at the foot of the mountain; and flames of fire went up from the mountain to the heart of heaven, with dark clouds, and all was black as night.
Deuteronomium 4:12 Und der HERR redete mit euch mitten aus dem Feuer. Die Stimme seiner Worte hörtet ihr; aber keine Gestalt saht ihr außer der Stimme.	Deuteronomy 4:12 And the voice of the Lord came to you out of the fire: the sound of his words came to your ears but you saw no form; there was nothing but a voice.
Deuteronomium 4:13 Und er verkündigte euch seinen Bund, den er euch gebot zu tun, nämlich die Zehn Worte, und schrieb sie auf zwei steinerne Tafeln.	Deuteronomy 4:13 And he gave you his agreement with you, the ten rules which you were to keep, which he put in writing on the two stones of the law.
Deuteronomium 4:14 Und der HERR gebot mir zur selben Zeit, daß ich euch lehren sollte Gebote und Rechte, daß ihr darnach tätet in dem Lande, darein ihr ziehet, daß ihr's einnehmet.	Deuteronomy 4:14 And the Lord gave me orders at that time to make clear to you these laws and decisions, so that you might do them in the land to which you are going, and which is to be your heritage.
Deuteronomium 4:15 So bewahret nun eure Seelen wohl, denn ihr habt keine Gestalt gesehen des Tages, da der HERR mit euch redete aus dem Feuer auf dem Berge Horeb,	Deuteronomy 4:15 So keep watch on yourselves with care; for you saw no form of any sort on the day when the voice of the Lord came to you in Horeb out of the heart of the fire:
Deuteronomium 4:16 auf daß ihr nicht verderbet und machet euch irgend ein Bild, das gleich sei einem Mann oder Weib	Deuteronomy 4:16 So that you may not be turned to evil ways and make for yourselves an image in the form of any living thing, male or female,
Deuteronomium 4:17 oder Vieh auf Erden oder Vogel unter dem Himmel	Deuteronomy 4:17 Or any beast of the earth, or winged bird of the air,
Deuteronomium 4:18 oder Gewürm auf dem Lande oder Fisch im Wasser unter der Erde,	Deuteronomy 4:18 Or of anything which goes flat on the earth, or any fish in the water under the earth.
Deuteronomium 4:19 daß du auch nicht deine Augen aufhebest gen Himmel und sehest die Sonne und den Mond und die Sterne, das ganze Heer des Himmels, und fallest ab und betest sie an und dienest ihnen, welche der HERR, dein Gott, verordnet hat allen Völkern unter dem ganzen Himmel.	Deuteronomy 4:19 And when your eyes are lifted up to heaven, and you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the army of heaven, do not let yourselves be moved to give them worship, or become the servants of what the Lord has given equally to all peoples under heaven.
Deuteronomium 4:20 Euch aber hat der HERR angenommen und aus dem eisernen Ofen, nämlich aus Ägypten, geführt, daß ihr sein Erbvolk sollt sein, wie es ist an diesem Tag.	Deuteronomy 4:20 But the Lord has taken you out of the flaming fire, out of Egypt, to be to him the people of his heritage, as you are today.
Deuteronomium 4:21 Und der HERR war so erzürnt über mich um eures Tuns willen, daß er schwur, ich sollte nicht über den Jordan gehen noch in das gute Land kommen, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, zum Erbteil geben wird,	Deuteronomy 4:21 And the Lord was angry with me because of you, and made an oath that I was not to go over Jordan into the good land which the Lord is giving you for your heritage:
Deuteronomium 4:22 sondern ich muß in diesem Lande sterben und werde nicht über den Jordan gehen; ihr aber werdet hinübergehen und solch gutes Land einnehmen.	Deuteronomy 4:22 But death is to come to me in this land, I may not go over Jordan: but you will go over and take that good land for your heritage.
Deuteronomium 4:23 So hütet euch nun, daß ihr des Bundes des HERRN, eures Gottes, nicht vergesset, den er mit euch gemacht hat, und nicht Bilder machet irgend einer Gestalt, wie der HERR, dein Gott, geboten hat.	Deuteronomy 4:23 Take care that you do not let the agreement of the Lord your God, which he has made with you, go out of your mind, or make for yourselves images of any sort, against the orders which the Lord your God has given you.
Deuteronomium 4:24 Denn der HERR, dein Gott, ist ein verzehrendes Feuer und ein eifriger Gott.	Deuteronomy 4:24 For the Lord your God is an all-burning fire, and he will not let the honour which is his be given to any other.
Deuteronomium 4:25 Wenn ihr nun aber Kinder zeuget und Kindeskinder und im Lande wohnet und verderbt euch und machet euch Bilder irgend einer Gestalt, daß ihr übel tut vor dem HERRN, eurem Gott, und ihr ihn erzürnet:	Deuteronomy 4:25 If, when you have had children and children's children, and have been living a long time in the land, you are turned to evil ways, and make an image of any sort, and do evil in the eyes of the Lord your God, moving him to wrath:
Deuteronomium 4:26 so rufe ich heutigestages über euch zu Zeugen Himmel und Erde, daß ihr werdet bald umkommen von dem Lande, in welches ihr gehet über den Jordan, daß ihr's einnehmet; ihr werdet nicht lange darin bleiben, sondern werdet vertilgt werden.	Deuteronomy 4:26 May heaven and earth be my witnesses against you today, that destruction will quickly overtake you, cutting you off from that land which you are going over Jordan to take; your days will not be long in that land, but you will come to a complete end.
Deuteronomium 4:27 Und der HERR wird euch zerstreuen unter die Völker, und wird euer ein geringer Haufe übrig sein unter den Heiden, dahin euch der HERR treiben wird.	Deuteronomy 4:27 And the Lord will send you wandering among the peoples; only a small band of you will be kept from death among the nations where the Lord will send you.
Deuteronomium 4:28 Daselbst wirst du dienen den Göttern, die Menschenhände Werk sind, Holz und Stein, die weder sehen noch hören noch essen noch riechen.	Deuteronomy 4:28 There you will be the servants of gods, made by men's hands, of wood and stone, having no power of seeing or hearing or taking food or smelling.
Deuteronomium 4:29 Wenn du aber daselbst den HERRN, deinen Gott, suchen wirst, so wirst du ihn finden, wenn du ihn wirst von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele suchen.	Deuteronomy 4:29 But if in those lands you are turned again to the Lord your God, searching for him with all your heart and soul, he will not keep himself from you.
Deuteronomium 4:30 Wenn du geängstet sein wirst und dich treffen werden alle diese Dinge in den letzten Tage, so wirst du dich bekehren zu dem HERRN, deinem Gott, und seiner Stimme gehorchen.	Deuteronomy 4:30 When you are in trouble and all these things have come on you, if, in the future, you are turned again to the Lord your God, and give ear to his voice:
Deuteronomium 4:31 Denn der HERR, dein Gott, ist ein barmherziger Gott; er wird dich nicht lassen noch verderben, wird auch nicht vergessen des Bundes, den er deinen Vätern geschworen hat.	Deuteronomy 4:31 Because the Lord your God is a God of mercy, he will not take away his help from you or let destruction overtake you, or be false to the agreement which he made by an oath with your fathers.
Deuteronomium 4:32 Denn frage nach den vorigen Zeiten, die vor dir gewesen sind, von dem Tage an, da Gott den Menschen auf Erden geschaffen hat, von einem Ende des Himmels zum andern, ob je solch großes Ding geschehen oder desgleichen je gehört sei,	Deuteronomy 4:32 Give thought now to the days which are past, before your time, from the day when God first gave life to man on the earth, and searching from one end of heaven to the other, see if such a great thing as this has ever been, or if anything like it has been talked of in story.
Deuteronomium 4:33 daß ein Volk Gottes Stimme gehört habe aus dem Feuer reden, wie du gehört hast, und dennoch lebest?	Deuteronomy 4:33 Has any people ever gone on living after hearing the voice of God out of the heart of the fire as you did?
Deuteronomium 4:34 oder ob Gott versucht habe hineinzugehen und sich ein Volk mitten aus einem Volk zu nehmen durch Versuchungen, durch Zeichen, durch Wunder, durch Streit und durch eine mächtige Hand und durch einen ausgestreckten Arm und durch sehr schreckliche Taten, wie das alles der HERR, euer Gott, für euch getan hat in Ägypten vor deinen Augen?	Deuteronomy 4:34 Has God ever before taken a nation for himself from out of another nation, by punishments and signs and wonders, by war and by a strong hand and a stretched-out arm and great acts of wonder and fear, as the Lord your God did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes?
Deuteronomium 4:35 Du hast's gesehen, auf daß du wissest, daß der HERR allein Gott ist und keiner mehr.	Deuteronomy 4:35 All this he let you see, so that you might be certain that the Lord is God and there is no other.
Deuteronomium 4:36 Vom Himmel hat er dich seine Stimme hören lassen, daß er dich züchtigte; und auf Erden hat er dir gezeigt sein großes Feuer, und seine Worte hast du aus dem Feuer gehört.	Deuteronomy 4:36 Out of heaven itself his voice came to you, teaching you; and on earth he let you see his great fire; and his words came to your ears out of the heart of the fire.
Deuteronomium 4:37 Darum daß er deine Väter geliebt und ihren Samen nach ihnen erwählt hat, hat er dich ausgeführt mit seinem Angesicht durch sein große Kraft aus Ägypten,	Deuteronomy 4:37 And because of his love for your fathers, he took their seed and made it his, and he himself, present among you, took you out of Egypt by his great power;
Deuteronomium 4:38 daß er vertriebe vor dir her große Völker und stärkere, denn du bist, und dich hineinbrächte, daß er dir ihr Land gäbe zum Erbteil, wie es heutigestages steht.	Deuteronomy 4:38 Driving out before you nations greater and stronger than you, to take you into their land and give it to you for your heritage, as at this day.
Deuteronomium 4:39 So sollst du nun heutigestages wissen und zu Herzen nehmen, daß der HERR Gott ist oben im Himmel und unten auf Erden und keiner mehr;	Deuteronomy 4:39 So today be certain, and keep the knowledge deep in your hearts, that the Lord is God, in heaven on high and here on earth; there is no other God.
Deuteronomium 4:40 daß du haltest seine Rechte und Gebote, die ich dir heute gebiete: so wird dir's und deinen Kindern nach dir wohl gehen, daß dein Leben lange währe in dem Lande, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, gibt ewiglich.	Deuteronomy 4:40 Then keep his laws and his orders which I give you today, so that it may be well for you and for your children after you, and that your lives may be long in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for ever.
Deuteronomium 4:41 Da sonderte Mose drei Städte aus jenseit des Jordans, gegen der Sonne Aufgang,	Deuteronomy 4:41 Then Moses had three towns marked out on the far side of Jordan looking to the east;
Deuteronomium 4:42 daß dahin flöhe, wer seinen Nächsten totschlägt unversehens und ihm zuvor nicht Feind gewesen ist; der soll in der Städte eine fliehen, daß er lebendig bleibe:	Deuteronomy 4:42 To which anyone causing the death of his neighbour in error and not through hate, might go in flight; so that in one of these towns he might be kept from death:
Deuteronomium 4:43 Bezer in der Wüste im ebnen Lande unter den Rubenitern und Ramoth in Gilead unter den Gaditern und Golan in Basan unter den Manassitern.	Deuteronomy 4:43 The names of the towns were Bezer in the waste land, in the table-land, for the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan for Manasseh.
Deuteronomium 4:44 Das ist das Gesetz, das Mose den Kindern Israel vorlegte.	Deuteronomy 4:44 This is the law which Moses put before the children of Israel:
Deuteronomium 4:45 Das sind die Zeugnisse und Gebote und Rechte, die Mose den Kindern Israel sagte, da sie aus Ägypten gezogen waren,	Deuteronomy 4:45 These are the rules and the laws and the decisions which Moses gave to the children of Israel after they came out of Egypt;
Deuteronomium 4:46 jenseit des Jordans, im Tal gegenüber Beth-Peor, im Lande Sihons, des Königs der Amoriter, der zu Hesbon saß, den Mose und die Kinder Israel schlugen, da sie aus Ägypten gezogen waren,	Deuteronomy 4:46 On the far side of Jordan, in the valley facing Beth-peor, in the land of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who was ruling in Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel overcame after they had come out of Egypt:
Deuteronomium 4:47 und nahmen sein Land ein, dazu das Land Ogs, des Königs von Basan, der zwei Könige der Amoriter, die jenseit des Jordans waren, gegen der Sonne Aufgang,	Deuteronomy 4:47 And they took his land for a heritage, and the land of Og, king of Bashan, the two kings of the Amorites, whose lands were on the other side of Jordan to the east;
Deuteronomium 4:48 von Aroer an, welches am Ufer liegt des Baches Arnon, bis an den Berg Sion, das ist der Hermon,	Deuteronomy 4:48 From Aroer on the edge of the valley of the Arnon as far as Mount Sion, which is Hermon,
Deuteronomium 4:49 und alles Blachfeld jenseit des Jordans, gegen Aufgang der Sonne, bis an das Meer im Blachfelde, unten am Berge Pisga.	Deuteronomy 4:49 And all the Arabah on the far side of Jordan to the east, as far as the sea of the Arabah under the slopes of Pisgah.
