Ester 9	Esther 9
Ester 9:1 Im zwölften Monat, das ist der Monat Adar, am dreizehnten Tag, den des Königs Wort und Gebot bestimmt hatte, daß man's tun sollte, ebendesselben Tages, da die Feinde der Juden hofften, sie zu überwältigen, wandte sich's, daß die Juden ihre Feinde überwältigen sollten.	Esther 9:1 Now on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, when the time came for the king's order to be put into effect, on the very day when the haters of the Jews had been hoping to have rule over them; though the opposite had come about, and the Jews had rule over their haters;
Ester 9:2 Da versammelten sich die Juden in ihren Städten in allen Landen des Königs Ahasveros, daß sie die Hand legten an die, so ihnen übel wollten. Und niemand konnte ihnen widerstehen; denn ihre Furcht war über alle Völker gekommen.	Esther 9:2 On that day, the Jews came together in their towns through all the divisions of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, for the purpose of attacking all those who were attempting evil against them: and everyone had to give way before them, for the fear of them had come on all the peoples.
Ester 9:3 Auch alle Obersten in den Landen und Fürsten und Landpfleger und Amtleute des Königs halfen den Juden; denn die Furcht vor Mardochai war über sie gekommen.	Esther 9:3 And all the chiefs and the captains and the rulers and those who did the king's business gave support to the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai had come on them.
Ester 9:4 Denn Mardochai war groß im Hause des Königs, und sein Gerücht erscholl in allen Ländern, wie er zunähme und groß würde.	Esther 9:4 For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and word of him went out through every part of the kingdom: for the man Mordecai became greater and greater.
Ester 9:5 Also schlugen die Juden an allen ihren Feinden eine Schwertschlacht und würgten und raubten und brachten um und taten nach ihrem Willen an denen, die ihnen feind waren.	Esther 9:5 So the Jews overcame all their attackers with the sword and with death and destruction, and did to their haters whatever they had a desire to do.
Ester 9:6 Und zu Schloß Susan erwürgten die Juden und brachten um fünfhundert Mann;	Esther 9:6 And in Shushan the Jews put to death five hundred men.
Ester 9:7 dazu erwürgten sie Parsandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha,	Esther 9:7 They put to death Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha,
Ester 9:8 Poratha, Adalja, Aridatha,	Esther 9:8 Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha,
Ester 9:9 Parmastha, Arisai, Aridai, Vajesatha,	Esther 9:9 Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai, and Vaizatha,
Ester 9:10 die zehn Söhne Hamans, des Sohne Hammedathas, des Judenfeindes. Aber an die Güter legten sie ihre Hände nicht.	Esther 9:10 The ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the hater of the Jews; but they put not a hand on any of their goods.
Ester 9:11 Zu derselben Zeit kam die Zahl der Erwürgten zu Schloß Susan vor den König.	Esther 9:11 On that day the number of those who had been put to death in the town of Shushan was given to the king.
Ester 9:12 Und der König sprach zu der Königin Esther: Die Juden haben zu Schloß Susan fünfhundert Mann erwürgt und umgebracht und die zehn Söhne Hamans; was werden sie tun in den andern Ländern des Königs? was bittest du, daß man dir gebe? und was forderst du mehr, daß man tue?	Esther 9:12 And the king said to Esther the queen, The Jews have put five hundred men to death in Shushan, as well as the ten sons of Haman: what then have they done in the rest of the kingdom! Now what is your prayer? for it will be given to you; what other request have you? and it will be done.
Ester 9:13 Esther sprach: Gefällt's dem König, so lasse er auch morgen die Juden tun nach dem heutigen Gebot, und die zehn Söhne Hamans soll man an den Baum hängen.	Esther 9:13 Then Esther said, If it is the king's pleasure, let authority be given to the Jews in Shushan to do tomorrow as has been done today, and let orders be given for the hanging of Haman's ten sons.
Ester 9:14 Und der König hieß also tun. Und das Gebot ward zu Susan angeschlagen, und die zehn Söhne Haman wurden gehängt.	Esther 9:14 And the king said that this was to be done, and the order was given out in Shushan, and the hanging of Haman's ten sons was effected.
Ester 9:15 Und die Juden zu Susan versammelten sich auch am vierzehnten Tage des Monats Adar und erwürgten zu Susan dreihundert Mann; aber an ihre Güter legten sie ihre Hände nicht.	Esther 9:15 For the Jews who were in Shushan came together again on the fourteenth day of the month Adar and put to death three hundred men in Shushan; but they put not a hand on their goods.
Ester 9:16 Aber die andern Juden in den Ländern des Königs kamen zusammen und standen für ihr Leben, daß sie Ruhe schafften vor ihren Feinden, und erwürgten ihrer Feinde fünfundsiebzigtausend; aber an ihre Güter legten sie ihre Hände nicht.	Esther 9:16 And the other Jews in every division of the kingdom came together, fighting for their lives, and got salvation from their haters and put seventy-five thousand of them to death; but they did not put a hand on their goods.
Ester 9:17 Das geschah am dreizehnten Tage des Monats Adar, und sie ruhten am vierzehnten Tage desselben Monats; den machte man zum Tage des Wohllebens und der Freude.	Esther 9:17 This they did on the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same month they took their rest, and made it a day of feasting and joy.
Ester 9:18 Aber die Juden zu Susan waren zusammengekommen am dreizehnten und am vierzehnten Tage und ruhten am fünfzehnten Tag; und den Tag machte man zum Tage des Wohllebens und der Freude.	Esther 9:18 But the Jews in Shushan came together on the thirteenth and on the fourteenth day of the month; and on the fifteenth day they took their rest, and made it a day of feasting and joy.
Ester 9:19 Darum machten die Juden, die auf den Dörfern und Flecken wohnten, den vierzehnten Tag des Monats Adar zum Tag des Wohllebens und der Freude, und sandte einer dem andern Geschenke.	Esther 9:19 So the Jews of the country places living in unwalled towns make the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of feasting and joy and a good day, a day for sending offerings one to another.
Ester 9:20 Und Mardochai schrieb diese Geschichten auf und sandte Briefe an alle Juden, die in den Landen des Königs Ahasveros waren, nahen und fernen,	Esther 9:20 And Mordecai sent letters to all the Jews in every division of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, near and far,
Ester 9:21 daß sie annähmen und hielten den vierzehnten und fünfzehnten Tag des Monats Adar jährlich,	Esther 9:21 Ordering them to keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar and the fifteenth day of the same month, every year,
Ester 9:22 nach den Tagen, darin die Juden zur Ruhe gekommen waren von ihren Feinden und nach dem Monat, darin ihre Schmerzen in Freude und ihr Leid in gute Tage verkehrt war; daß sie dieselben halten sollten als Tage des Wohllebens und der Freude und einer dem andern Geschenke schicken und den Armen mitteilen.	Esther 9:22 As days on which the Jews had rest from their haters, and the month which for them was turned from sorrow to joy, and from weeping to a good day: and that they were to keep them as days of feasting and joy, of sending offerings to one another and good things to the poor.
Ester 9:23 Und die Juden nahmen's an, was sie angefangen hatten zu tun und was Mardochai an sie schrieb:	Esther 9:23 And the Jews gave their word to go on as they had been doing and as Mordecai had given them orders in writing;
Ester 9:24 wie Haman, der Sohn Hammedathas, der Agagiter, aller Juden Feind, gedacht hatte, alle Juden umzubringen, und das Pur, das ist das Los, werfen lassen, sie zu erschrecken und umzubringen;	Esther 9:24 Because Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the hater of all the Jews, had made designs for their destruction, attempting to get a decision by Pur (that is, chance) with a view to putting an end to them and cutting them off;
Ester 9:25 und wie Esther zum König gegangen war und derselbe durch Briefe geboten hatte, daß seine bösen Anschläge, die er wider die Juden gedacht, auf seinen Kopf gekehrt würden; und wie man ihn und seine Söhne an den Baum gehängt hatte.	Esther 9:25 But when the business was put before the king, he gave orders by letters that the evil design which he had made against the Jews was to be turned against himself; and that he and his sons were to be put to death by hanging.
Ester 9:26 Daher sie diese Tage Purim nannten nach dem Namen des Loses. Und nach allen Worten dieses Briefes und dem, was sie selbst gesehen hatten und was an sie gelangt war,	Esther 9:26 So these days were named Purim, after the name of Pur. And so, because of the words of this letter, and of what they had seen in connection with this business, and what had come to them,
Ester 9:27 richteten die Juden es auf und nahmen's auf sich und auf ihre Nachkommen und auf alle, die sich zu ihnen taten, daß sie nicht unterlassen wollten, zu halten diese zwei Tage jährlich, wie die vorgeschrieben und bestimmt waren;	Esther 9:27 The Jews made a rule and gave an undertaking, causing their seed and all those who were joined to them to do the same, so that it might be in force for ever, that they would keep those two days, as ordered in the letter, at the fixed time every year;
Ester 9:28 daß diese Tage nicht vergessen, sondern zu halten seien bei Kindeskindern, bei allen Geschlechtern, in allen Ländern und Städten. Es sind die Tage Purim, welche nicht sollen übergangen werden unter den Juden, und ihr Gedächtnis soll nicht umkommen bei ihren Nachkommen.	Esther 9:28 And that those days were to be kept in memory through every generation and every family, in every division of the kingdom and every town, that there might never be a time when these days of Purim would not be kept among the Jews, or when the memory of them would go from the minds of their seed.
Ester 9:29 Und die Königin Esther, die Tochter Abihails, und Mardochai, der Jude, schrieben mit ganzem Ernst, um es zu bestätigen, diesen zweiten Brief von Purim;	Esther 9:29 Then Esther the queen, daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, sent a second letter giving the force of their authority to the order about the Purim.
Ester 9:30 und er sandte die Briefe zu allen Juden in den hundert und siebenundzwanzig Ländern des Königreichs des Ahasveros mit freundlichen und treuen Worten:	Esther 9:30 And he sent letters to all the Jews in the hundred and twenty-seven divisions of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with true words of peace,
Ester 9:31 daß sie annähmen die Tage Purim auf die bestimmte Zeit, wie Mardochai, der Jude, über sie bestätigt hatte und die Königin Esther, und wie sie für sich selbst und ihre Nachkommen bestätigt hatten die Geschichte der Fasten und ihres Schreiens.	Esther 9:31 Giving the force of law to these days of Purim at their fixed times, as they had been ordered by Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen, and in keeping with the rules they had made for themselves and their seed, in connection with their time of going without food and their cry for help.
Ester 9:32 Und Esther befahl, die Geschichte dieser Purim zu bestätigen. Und es ward in ein Buch geschrieben.	Esther 9:32 The order given by Esther gave the force of law to the rules about the Purim; and it was recorded in the book.
