Jeremia 38:1 Es hörten aber Sephatja, der Sohn Matthans, und Gedalja, der Sohn Pashurs, und Juchal, der Sohn Selemjas, und Pashur, der Sohn Malchias, die Reden, so Jeremia zu allem Volk redete und sprach:	Jeremiah 38:1 Now it came to the ears of Shephatiah, the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah, the son of Pashhur, and Jucal, the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur, the son of Malchiah, that Jeremiah had said to all the people,
Jeremia 38:2 So spricht der HERR: Wer in dieser Stadt bleibt, der wird durch Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz sterben müssen; wer aber hinausgeht zu den Chaldäern, der soll lebend bleiben und wird sein Leben wie eine Beute davonbringen.	Jeremiah 38:2 These are the words of the Lord: Whoever goes on living in this town will come to his death by the sword or through need of food or by disease: but whoever goes out to the Chaldaeans will keep his life out of the power of the attackers and be safe.
Jeremia 38:3 Denn also spricht der HERR: Diese Stadt soll übergeben werden dem Heer des Königs zu Babel, und sie sollen sie gewinnen.	Jeremiah 38:3 The Lord has said, This town will certainly be given into the hands of the army of the king of Babylon, and he will take it.
Jeremia 38:4 Da sprachen die Fürsten zum König: Laß doch diesen Mann töten; denn mit der Weise wendet er die Kriegsleute ab, so noch übrig sind in der Stadt, desgleichen das ganze Volk auch, weil er solche Worte zu ihnen sagt. Denn der Mann sucht nicht, was diesem Volk zum Frieden, sondern zum Unglück dient.	Jeremiah 38:4 Then the rulers said to the king, Let this man be put to death, because he is putting fear into the hearts of the men of war who are still in the town, and into the hearts of the people, by saying such things to them: this man is not working for the well-being of the people, but for their damage.
Jeremia 38:5 Der König Zedekia sprach: Siehe, er ist in euren Händen; denn der König kann nichts wider euch.	Jeremiah 38:5 Then Zedekiah the king said, See, he is in your hands: for the king was not able to do anything against them.
Jeremia 38:6 Da nahmen sie Jeremia und warfen ihn in die Grube Malchias, des Königssohnes, die am Vorhof des Gefängnisses war, da nicht Wasser, sondern Schlamm war, und Jeremia sank in den Schlamm.	Jeremiah 38:6 So they took Jeremiah and put him into the water-hole of Malchiah, the king's son, in the place of the armed watchmen: and they let Jeremiah down with cords. And in the hole there was no water, but wet earth: and Jeremiah went down into the wet earth.
Jeremia 38:7 Als aber Ebed-Melech, der Mohr, ein Kämmerer in des Königs Hause, hörte, daß man Jeremia hatte in die Grube geworfen, und der König eben saß im Tor Benjamin,	Jeremiah 38:7 Now it came to the ears of Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, an unsexed servant in the king's house, that they had put Jeremiah into the water-hole; the king at that time being seated in the doorway of Benjamin:
Jeremia 38:8 da ging Ebed-Melech aus des Königs Hause und redete mit dem König und sprach:	Jeremiah 38:8 And Ebed-melech went out from the king's house and said to the king,
Jeremia 38:9 Mein Herr König, die Männer handeln übel an dem Propheten Jeremia, daß sie ihn haben in die Grube geworfen, da er muß Hungers sterben; denn es ist kein Brot mehr in der Stadt.	Jeremiah 38:9 My lord the king, these men have done evil in all they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have put into the water-hole; and he will come to his death in the place where he is through need of food: for there is no more bread in the town.
Jeremia 38:10 Da befahl der König Ebed-Melech, dem Mohren, und sprach: Nimm dreißig Männer mit dir von diesen und zieh den Propheten Jeremia aus der Grube, ehe denn er sterbe.	Jeremiah 38:10 Then the king gave orders to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take with you three men from here and get Jeremiah out of the water-hole before death overtakes him.
Jeremia 38:11 Und Ebed-Melech nahm die Männer mit sich und ging in des Königs Haus unter die Schatzkammer und nahm daselbst zerrissene und vertragene alte Lumpen und ließ sie an einem Seil hinab zu Jeremia in die Grube.	Jeremiah 38:11 So Ebed-melech took the men with him and went into the house of the king, to the place where the clothing was kept, and got from there old clothing and bits of old cloth, and let them down by cords into the water-hole where Jeremiah was.
Jeremia 38:12 Und Ebed-Melech, der Mohr, sprach zu Jeremia: Lege diese zerrissenen und vertragenen alten Lumpen unter deine Achseln um das Seil. Und Jeremia tat also.	Jeremiah 38:12 And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, Put these bits of old cloth under your arms under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.
Jeremia 38:13 Und sie zogen Jeremia herauf aus der Grube an den Stricken; und blieb also Jeremia im Vorhof des Gefängnisses.	Jeremiah 38:13 So pulling Jeremiah up with the cords they got him out of the water-hole: and Jeremiah was kept in the place of the armed watchmen.
Jeremia 38:14 Und der König Zedekia sandte hin und ließ den Propheten Jeremia zu sich holen unter den dritten Eingang am Hause des HERRN. Und der König sprach zu Jeremia: Ich will dich etwas fragen; verhalte mir nichts.	Jeremiah 38:14 Then King Zedekiah sent for Jeremiah the prophet and took him into the rulers' doorway in the house of the Lord: and the king said to Jeremiah, I have a question to put to you; keep nothing back from me.
Jeremia 38:15 Jeremia sprach zu Zedekia: Sage ich dir etwas, so tötest du mich doch; gebe ich dir aber einen Rat, so gehorchst du mir nicht.	Jeremiah 38:15 Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, If I give you the answer to your question, will you not certainly put me to death? and if I make a suggestion to you, you will not give it a hearing.
Jeremia 38:16 Da schwur der König Zedekia dem Jeremia heimlich und sprach: So wahr der HERR lebt, der uns dieses Leben gegeben hat, so will ich dich nicht töten noch den Männern in die Hände geben, die dir nach dem Leben stehen.	Jeremiah 38:16 So King Zedekiah gave his oath to Jeremiah secretly, saying, By the living Lord, who gave us our life, I will not put you to death, or give you up to these men who are desiring to take your life.
Jeremia 38:17 Und Jeremia sprach zu Zedekia: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Wirst du hinausgehen zu den Fürsten des Königs zu Babel, so sollst du leben bleiben, und diese Stadt soll nicht verbrannt werden, sondern du und dein Haus sollen am Leben bleiben;	Jeremiah 38:17 Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, These are the words of the Lord, the God of armies, the God of Israel: If you go out to the king of Babylon's captains, then you will have life, and the town will not be burned with fire, and you and your family will be kept from death:
Jeremia 38:18 wirst du aber nicht hinausgehen zu den Fürsten des Königs zu Babel, so wird diese Stadt den Chaldäern in die Hände gegeben, und sie werden sie mit Feuer verbrennen, und du wirst auch nicht ihren Händen entrinnen.	Jeremiah 38:18 But if you do not go out to the king of Babylon's captains, then this town will be given into the hands of the Chaldaeans and they will put it on fire, and you will not get away from them.
Jeremia 38:19 Der König Zedekia sprach zu Jeremia: Ich sorge mich aber, daß ich den Juden, so zu den Chaldäern gefallen sind, möchte übergeben werden, daß sie mein spotten.	Jeremiah 38:19 And King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, I am troubled on account of the Jews who have gone over to the Chaldaeans, for fear that they may give me up to them and they will put me to shame.
Jeremia 38:20 Jeremia sprach: Man wird dich nicht übergeben. Gehorche doch der Stimme des HERRN, die ich dir sage, so wird dir's wohl gehen, und du wirst lebend bleiben.	Jeremiah 38:20 But Jeremiah said, They will not give you up: be guided now by the word of the Lord as I have given it to you, and it will be well for you, and you will keep your life.
Jeremia 38:21 Wirst du aber nicht hinausgehen, so ist dies das Wort, das mir der HERR gezeigt hat:	Jeremiah 38:21 But if you do not go out, this is what the Lord has made clear to me:
Jeremia 38:22 Siehe, alle Weiber, die noch vorhanden sind in dem Hause des Königs in Juda, werden hinaus müssen zu den Fürsten des Königs zu Babel; diese werden dann sagen: Ach deine Tröster haben dich überredet und verführt und in Schlamm geführt und lassen dich nun stecken.	Jeremiah 38:22 See, all the rest of the women in the house of the king of Judah will be taken out to the king of Babylon's captains, and these women will say, Your nearest friends have been false to you and have got the better of you: they have made your feet go deep into the wet earth, and they are turned away back from you.
Jeremia 38:23 Also werden dann alle deine Weiber und Kinder hinaus müssen zu den Chaldäern, und du selbst wirst ihren Händen nicht entgehen; sondern du wirst vom König von Babel gegriffen, und diese Stadt wird mit Feuer verbrannt werden.	Jeremiah 38:23 And they will take all your wives and your children out to the Chaldaeans: and you will not get away out of their hands, but will be taken by the hands of the king of Babylon: and this town will be burned with fire.
Jeremia 38:24 Und Zedekia sprach zu Jeremia: Siehe zu, daß niemand diese Rede erfahre, so wirst du nicht sterben.	Jeremiah 38:24 Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, Let no man have knowledge of these words, and you will not be put to death.
Jeremia 38:25 Und wenn's die Fürsten erführen, daß ich mit dir geredet habe, und kämen zu dir und sprächen: Sage an, was hast du mit dem König geredet, leugne es uns nicht, so wollen wir dich nicht töten, und was hat der König mit dir geredet?	Jeremiah 38:25 But if it comes to the ears of the rulers that I have been talking with you, and they come and say to you, Give us word now of what you have said to the king and what the king said to you, keeping nothing back and we will not put you to death;
Jeremia 38:26 so sprich: Ich habe den König gebeten, daß er mich nicht wiederum ließe in des Jonathan Haus führen; ich möchte daselbst sterben.	Jeremiah 38:26 Then you are to say to them, I made my request to the king, that he would not send me back to my death in Jonathan's house.
Jeremia 38:27 Da kamen alle Fürsten zu Jeremia und fragten ihn; und er sagte ihnen, wie ihm der König befohlen hatte. Da ließen sie von ihm, weil sie nichts erfahren konnten.	Jeremiah 38:27 Then all the rulers came to Jeremiah, questioning him: and he gave them an answer in the words the king had given him orders to say. So they said nothing more to him; for the thing was not made public.
Jeremia 38:28 Und Jeremia blieb im Vorhof des Gefängnisses bis auf den Tag, da Jerusalem gewonnen ward.	Jeremiah 38:28 So Jeremiah was kept in the place of the armed watchmen till the day when Jerusalem was taken.
