Johannes 7	John 7
Johannes 7:1 Darnach zog Jesus umher in Galiläa; denn er wollte nicht in Judäa umherziehen, darum daß ihm die Juden nach dem Leben stellten.	John 7:1 After this, Jesus went from place to place in Galilee. He did not go about in Judaea, because the Jews were looking for a chance to put him to death.
Johannes 7:2 Es war aber nahe der Juden Fest, die Laubhütten.	John 7:2 But the feast of the Jews, the feast of tents, was near.
Johannes 7:3 Da sprachen seine Brüder zu ihm: Mache dich auf von dannen und gehe nach Judäa, auf daß auch deine Jünger sehen, die Werke die du tust.	John 7:3 So his brothers said to him, Go away from here into Judaea so that your disciples may see the works which you do.
Johannes 7:4 Niemand tut etwas im Verborgenen und will doch frei offenbar sein. Tust du solches, so offenbare dich vor der Welt.	John 7:4 Because no man does things secretly if he has a desire that men may have knowledge of him. If you do these things, let yourself be seen by all men.
Johannes 7:5 Denn auch seine Brüder glaubten nicht an ihn.	John 7:5 For even his brothers had no belief in him.
Johannes 7:6 Da spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Meine Zeit ist noch nicht hier; eure Zeit aber ist allewege.	John 7:6 Jesus said to them, My time is still to come, but any time is good for you.
Johannes 7:7 Die Welt kann euch nicht hassen; mich aber haßt sie, denn ich zeuge von ihr, daß ihre Werke böse sind.	John 7:7 It is not possible for you to be hated by the world; but I am hated by it, because I give witness that what it does is evil.
Johannes 7:8 Gehet ihr hinauf auf dieses Fest; ich will noch nicht hinaufgehen auf dieses Fest, den meine Zeit ist noch nicht erfüllt.	John 7:8 Go you up to the feast: I am not going up now to the feast because my time has not fully come.
Johannes 7:9 Da er aber das zu ihnen gesagt, blieb er in Galiläa.	John 7:9 Having said these things to them, he still kept in Galilee.
Johannes 7:10 Als aber seine Brüder waren hinaufgegangen, da ging er auch hinauf zu dem Fest, nicht offenbar, sondern wie heimlich.	John 7:10 But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he went up, not publicly, but in secret.
Johannes 7:11 Da suchten ihn die Juden am Fest und sprachen: Wo ist der?	John 7:11 At the feast the Jews were looking for him and saying, Where is he?
Johannes 7:12 Und es war ein großes Gemurmel unter dem Volk. Etliche sprachen: Er ist fromm; die andern aber sprachen: Nein, er verführt das Volk.	John 7:12 And there was much discussion about him among the mass of the people. Some said, He is a good man; but others said, No, he is giving people false ideas.
Johannes 7:13 Niemand aber redete frei von ihm um der Furcht willen vor den Juden.	John 7:13 But no man said anything about him openly for fear of the Jews.
Johannes 7:14 Aber mitten im Fest ging Jesus hinauf in den Tempel und lehrte.	John 7:14 Now in the middle of the feast Jesus went up to the Temple and was teaching.
Johannes 7:15 Und die Juden verwunderten sich und sprachen: Wie kann dieser die Schrift, so er sie doch nicht gelernt hat?	John 7:15 Then the Jews were surprised and said, How has this man got knowledge of books? He has never been to school.
Johannes 7:16 Jesus antwortete ihnen und sprach: Meine Lehre ist nicht mein, sondern des, der mich gesandt hat.	John 7:16 Jesus gave them this answer: It is not my teaching, but his who sent me.
Johannes 7:17 So jemand will des Willen tun, der wird innewerden, ob diese Lehre von Gott sei, oder ob ich von mir selbst rede.	John 7:17 If any man is ready to do God's pleasure he will have knowledge of the teaching and of where it comes from--from God or from myself.
Johannes 7:18 Wer von sich selbst redet, der sucht seine eigene Ehre; wer aber sucht die Ehre des, der ihn gesandt hat, der ist wahrhaftig, und ist keine Ungerechtigkeit an ihm.	John 7:18 The man whose words come from himself is looking for glory for himself, but he who is looking for the glory of him who sent him--that man is true and there is no evil in him.
Johannes 7:19 Hat euch nicht Mose das Gesetz gegeben? und niemand unter euch tut das Gesetz. Warum sucht ihr mich zu töten?	John 7:19 Did not Moses give you the law? Even so, not one of you keeps the law. Why have you a desire to put me to death?
Johannes 7:20 Das Volk antwortete und sprach: Du hast den Teufel; wer versucht dich zu töten?	John 7:20 The people said in answer, You have an evil spirit: who has any desire to put you to death?
Johannes 7:21 Jesus antwortete und sprach: Ein einziges Werk habe ich getan, und es wundert euch alle.	John 7:21 This was the answer of Jesus: I have done one work and you are all surprised at it.
Johannes 7:22 Mose hat euch darum gegeben die Beschneidung, nicht daß sie von Mose kommt, sondern von den Vätern, und ihr beschneidet den Menschen am Sabbat.	John 7:22 Moses gave you circumcision--not that it comes from Moses, but from the fathers--and even on the Sabbath you give a child circumcision.
Johannes 7:23 So ein Mensch die Beschneidung annimmt am Sabbat, auf daß nicht das Gesetz Mose's gebrochen werde, zürnet ihr denn über mich, daß ich den ganzen Menschen habe am Sabbat gesund gemacht?	John 7:23 If a child is given circumcision on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?
Johannes 7:24 Richtet nicht nach dem Ansehen, sondern richtet ein rechtes Gericht.	John 7:24 Let not your decisions be based on what you see, but on righteousness.
Johannes 7:25 Da sprachen etliche aus Jerusalem: Ist das nicht der, den sie suchten zu töten?	John 7:25 Then some of the people of Jerusalem said, Is not this the man whose death is desired?
Johannes 7:26 Und siehe zu, er redet frei, und sie sagen nichts. Erkennen unsere Obersten nun gewiß, daß er gewiß Christus sei?	John 7:26 And here he is talking openly and they say nothing to him! Is it possible that the rulers have knowledge that this is truly the Christ?
Johannes 7:27 Doch wir wissen, woher dieser ist; wenn aber Christus kommen wird, so wird niemand wissen, woher er ist.	John 7:27 However, it is clear to us where this man comes from: but when the Christ comes no one will have knowledge where he comes from.
Johannes 7:28 Da rief Jesus im Tempel und sprach: Ja, ihr kennet mich und wisset, woher ich bin; und von mir selbst bin ich nicht gekommen, sondern es ist ein Wahrhaftiger, der mich gesandt hat, welchen ihr nicht kennet.	John 7:28 Then, when he was teaching in the Temple, Jesus said with a loud voice, You have knowledge of me and you have knowledge of where I come from; and I have not come of myself; but there is One who has sent me; he is true, but you have no knowledge of him.
Johannes 7:29 Ich kenne ihn aber; denn ich bin von ihm, und er hat mich gesandt.	John 7:29 I have knowledge of him because I came from him and he sent me.
Johannes 7:30 Da suchten sie ihn zu greifen; aber niemand legte die Hand an ihn, denn seine Stunde war noch nicht gekommen.	John 7:30 Then they had a desire to take him: but no man put hands on him because his hour was still to come.
Johannes 7:31 Aber viele vom Volk glaubten an ihn und sprachen: Wenn Christus kommen wird, wird er auch mehr Zeichen tun, denn dieser tut?	John 7:31 And numbers of the people had belief in him, and they said, When the Christ comes will he do more signs than this man has done?
Johannes 7:32 Und es kam vor die Pharisäer, daß das Volk solches von ihm murmelte. Da sandten die Pharisäer und Hohenpriester Knechte aus, das sie ihn griffen.	John 7:32 This discussion of the people came to the ears of the Pharisees; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent servants to take him.
Johannes 7:33 Da sprach Jesus zu ihnen: Ich bin noch eine kleine Zeit bei euch, und dann gehe ich hin zu dem, der mich gesandt hat.	John 7:33 Then Jesus said, I will be with you a little longer and then I go to him who sent me.
Johannes 7:34 Ihr werdet mich suchen, und nicht finden; und wo ich bin, könnet ihr nicht hin kommen.	John 7:34 You will be looking for me, and you will not see me: and where I am you may not come.
Johannes 7:35 Da sprachen die Juden untereinander: Wo soll dieser hin gehen, daß wir ihn nicht finden sollen? Will er zu den Zerstreuten unter den Griechen gehen und die Griechen lehren?	John 7:35 So the Jews said among themselves, To what place is he going where we will not see him? will he go to the Jews living among the Greeks and become the teacher of the Greeks?
Johannes 7:36 Was ist das für eine Rede, daß er sagte: "Ihr werdet mich suchen, und nicht finden; und wo ich bin, da könnet ihr nicht hin kommen"?	John 7:36 What is this saying of his, You will be looking for me and will not see me, and where I am you may not come?
Johannes 7:37 Aber am letzten Tage des Festes, der am herrlichsten war, trat Jesus auf, rief und sprach: Wen da dürstet, der komme zu mir und trinke!	John 7:37 On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus got up and said in a loud voice, If any man is in need of drink let him come to me and I will give it to him.
Johannes 7:38 Wer an mich glaubt, wie die Schrift sagt, von des Leibe werden Ströme des lebendigen Wassers fließen.	John 7:38 He who has faith in me, out of his body, as the Writings have said, will come rivers of living water.
Johannes 7:39 Das sagte er aber von dem Geist, welchen empfangen sollten, die an ihn glaubten; denn der Heilige Geist war noch nicht da, denn Jesus war noch nicht verklärt.	John 7:39 This he said of the Spirit which would be given to those who had faith in him: the Spirit had not been given then, because the glory of Jesus was still to come.
Johannes 7:40 Viele nun vom Volk, die diese Rede hörten, sprachen: Dieser ist wahrlich der Prophet.	John 7:40 When these words came to their ears, some of the people said, This is certainly the prophet.
Johannes 7:41 Andere sprachen: Er ist Christus. Etliche aber sprachen: Soll Christus aus Galiläa kommen?	John 7:41 Others said, This is the Christ. But others said, Not so; will the Christ come from Galilee?
Johannes 7:42 Spricht nicht die Schrift: von dem Samen Davids und aus dem Flecken Bethlehem, da David war, soll Christus kommen?	John 7:42 Do not the Writings say that the Christ comes of the seed of David and from Beth-lehem, the little town where David was?
Johannes 7:43 Also ward eine Zwietracht unter dem Volk über ihn.	John 7:43 So there was a division among the people because of him.
Johannes 7:44 Es wollten aber etliche ihn greifen; aber niemand legte die Hand an ihn.	John 7:44 And some of them had a desire to take him; but no man put hands on him.
Johannes 7:45 Die Knechte kamen zu den Hohenpriestern und Pharisäern; und sie sprachen zu ihnen: Warum habt ihr ihn nicht gebracht?	John 7:45 Then the servants went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, Why have you not got him with you?
Johannes 7:46 Die Knechte antworteten: Es hat nie ein Mensch also geredet wie dieser Mensch.	John 7:46 The servants made answer, No man ever said things like this man.
Johannes 7:47 Da antworteten ihnen die Pharisäer: Seid ihr auch verführt?	John 7:47 Then the Pharisees said to them, Have you, like the others, been given false ideas?
Johannes 7:48 Glaubt auch irgendein Oberster oder Pharisäer an ihn?	John 7:48 Have any of the rulers belief in him, or any one of the Pharisees?
Johannes 7:49 sondern das Volk, das nichts vom Gesetz weiß, ist verflucht.	John 7:49 But these people who have no knowledge of the law are cursed.
Johannes 7:50 Spricht zu ihnen Nikodemus, der bei der Nacht zu ihm kam, welcher einer unter ihnen war:	John 7:50 Nicodemus--he who had come to Jesus before, being himself one of them--said to them,
Johannes 7:51 Richtet unser Gesetz auch einen Menschen, ehe man ihn verhört und erkennt, was er tut?	John 7:51 Is a man judged by our law before it has given him a hearing and has knowledge of what he has done?
Johannes 7:52 Sie antworteten und sprachen zu ihm: Bist du auch ein Galiläer? Forsche und siehe, aus Galiläa steht kein Prophet auf.	John 7:52 This was their answer: And do you come from Galilee? Make search and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.
Johannes 7:53 Und ein jeglicher ging also heim.	John 7:53 [And every man went to his house;
