Matthäus 5:1 Da er aber das Volk sah, ging er auf einen Berg und setzte sich; und seine Jünger traten zu ihm,	Matthew 5:1 And seeing great masses of people he went up into the mountain; and when he was seated his disciples came to him.
Matthäus 5:2 Und er tat seinen Mund auf, lehrte sie und sprach:	Matthew 5:2 And with these words he gave them teaching, saying,
Matthäus 5:3 Selig sind, die da geistlich arm sind; denn das Himmelreich ist ihr.	Matthew 5:3 Happy are the poor in spirit: for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
Matthäus 5:4 Selig sind, die da Leid tragen; denn sie sollen getröstet werden.	Matthew 5:4 Happy are those who are sad: for they will be comforted.
Matthäus 5:5 Selig sind die Sanftmütigen; denn sie werden das Erdreich besitzen.	Matthew 5:5 Happy are the gentle: for the earth will be their heritage.
Matthäus 5:6 Selig sind, die da hungert und dürstet nach der Gerechtigkeit; denn sie sollen satt werden.	Matthew 5:6 Happy are those whose heart's desire is for righteousness: for they will have their desire.
Matthäus 5:7 Selig sind die Barmherzigen; denn sie werden Barmherzigkeit erlangen.	Matthew 5:7 Happy are those who have mercy: for they will be given mercy.
Matthäus 5:8 Selig sind, die reines Herzens sind; denn sie werden Gott schauen.	Matthew 5:8 Happy are the clean in heart: for they will see God.
Matthäus 5:9 Selig sind die Friedfertigen; denn sie werden Gottes Kinder heißen.	Matthew 5:9 Happy are the peacemakers: for they will be named sons of God.
Matthäus 5:10 Selig sind, die um Gerechtigkeit willen verfolgt werden; denn das Himmelreich ist ihr.	Matthew 5:10 Happy are those who are attacked on account of righteousness: for the kingdom of heaven will be theirs.
Matthäus 5:11 Selig seid ihr, wenn euch die Menschen um meinetwillen schmähen und verfolgen und reden allerlei Übles gegen euch, so sie daran lügen.	Matthew 5:11 Happy are you when men give you a bad name, and are cruel to you, and say all evil things against you falsely, because of me.
Matthäus 5:12 Seid fröhlich und getrost; es wird euch im Himmel wohl belohnt werden. Denn also haben sie verfolgt die Propheten, die vor euch gewesen sind.	Matthew 5:12 Be glad and full of joy; for great is your reward in heaven: for so were the prophets attacked who were before you.
Matthäus 5:13 Ihr seid das Salz der Erde. Wo nun das Salz dumm wird, womit soll man's salzen? Es ist hinfort zu nichts nütze, denn das man es hinausschütte und lasse es die Leute zertreten.	Matthew 5:13 You are the salt of the earth; but if its taste goes from the salt, how will you make it salt again? it is then good for nothing but to be put out and crushed under foot by men.
Matthäus 5:14 Ihr seid das Licht der Welt. Es kann die Stadt, die auf einem Berge liegt, nicht verborgen sein.	Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A town put on a hill may be seen by all.
Matthäus 5:15 Man zündet auch nicht ein Licht an und setzt es unter einen Scheffel, sondern auf einen Leuchter; so leuchtet es denn allen, die im Hause sind.	Matthew 5:15 And a burning light is not put under a vessel, but on its table; so that its rays may be shining on all who are in the house.
Matthäus 5:16 Also laßt euer Licht leuchten vor den Leuten, daß sie eure guten Werke sehen und euren Vater im Himmel preisen.	Matthew 5:16 Even so let your light be shining before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
Matthäus 5:17 Ihr sollt nicht wähnen, daß ich gekommen bin, das Gesetz oder die Propheten aufzulösen; ich bin nicht gekommen, aufzulösen, sondern zu erfüllen.	Matthew 5:17 Let there be no thought that I have come to put an end to the law or the prophets. I have not come for destruction, but to make complete.
Matthäus 5:18 Denn ich sage euch wahrlich: Bis daß Himmel und Erde zergehe, wird nicht zergehen der kleinste Buchstabe noch ein Tüttel vom Gesetz, bis daß es alles geschehe.	Matthew 5:18 Truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth come to an end, not the smallest letter or part of a letter will in any way be taken from the law, till all things are done.
Matthäus 5:19 Wer nun eines von diesen kleinsten Geboten auflöst und lehrt die Leute also, der wird der Kleinste heißen im Himmelreich; wer es aber tut und lehrt, der wird groß heißen im Himmelreich.	Matthew 5:19 Whoever then goes against the smallest of these laws, teaching men to do the same, will be named least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who keeps the laws, teaching others to keep them, will be named great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthäus 5:20 Denn ich sage euch: Es sei denn eure Gerechtigkeit besser als der Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer, so werdet ihr nicht in das Himmelreich kommen.	Matthew 5:20 For I say to you, If your righteousness is not greater than the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never go into the kingdom of heaven.
Matthäus 5:21 Ihr habt gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: "Du sollst nicht töten; wer aber tötet, der soll des Gerichts schuldig sein."	Matthew 5:21 You have knowledge that it was said in old times, You may not put to death; and, Whoever puts to death will be in danger of being judged:
Matthäus 5:22 Ich aber sage euch: Wer mit seinem Bruder zürnet, der ist des Gerichts schuldig; wer aber zu seinem Bruder sagt: Racha! der ist des Rats schuldig; wer aber sagt: Du Narr! der ist des höllischen Feuers schuldig.	Matthew 5:22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be in danger of being judged; and he who says to his brother, Raca, will be in danger from the Sanhedrin; and whoever says, You foolish one, will be in danger of the hell of fire.
Matthäus 5:23 Darum, wenn du deine Gabe auf dem Altar opferst und wirst allda eingedenk, daß dein Bruder etwas wider dich habe,	Matthew 5:23 If then you are making an offering at the altar and there it comes to your mind that your brother has something against you,
Matthäus 5:24 so laß allda vor dem Altar deine Gabe und gehe zuvor hin und versöhne dich mit deinem Bruder, und alsdann komm und opfere deine Gabe.	Matthew 5:24 While your offering is still before the altar, first go and make peace with your brother, then come and make your offering.
Matthäus 5:25 Sei willfährig deinem Widersacher bald, dieweil du noch bei ihm auf dem Wege bist, auf daß dich der Widersacher nicht dermaleinst überantworte dem Richter, und der Richter überantworte dich dem Diener, und wirst in den Kerker geworfen.	Matthew 5:25 Come to an agreement quickly with him who has a cause against you at law, while you are with him on the way, for fear that he may give you up to the judge and the judge may give you to the police and you may be put into prison.
Matthäus 5:26 Ich sage dir wahrlich: Du wirst nicht von dannen herauskommen, bis du auch den letzten Heller bezahlest.	Matthew 5:26 Truly I say to you, You will not come out from there till you have made payment of the very last farthing.
Matthäus 5:27 Ihr habt gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: "Du sollst nicht ehebrechen."	Matthew 5:27 You have knowledge that it was said, You may not have connection with another man's wife:
Matthäus 5:28 Ich aber sage euch: Wer ein Weib ansieht, ihrer zu begehren, der hat schon mit ihr die Ehe gebrochen in seinem Herzen.	Matthew 5:28 But I say to you that everyone whose eyes are turned on a woman with desire has had connection with her in his heart.
Matthäus 5:29 Ärgert dich aber dein rechtes Auge, so reiß es aus und wirf's von dir. Es ist dir besser, daß eins deiner Glieder verderbe, und nicht der ganze Leib in die Hölle geworfen werde.	Matthew 5:29 And if your right eye is a cause of trouble to you, take it out and put it away from you; because it is better to undergo the loss of one part, than for all your body to go into hell.
Matthäus 5:30 Ärgert dich deine rechte Hand, so haue sie ab und wirf sie von dir. Es ist dir besser, daß eins deiner Glieder verderbe, und nicht der ganze Leib in die Hölle geworfen werde.	Matthew 5:30 And if your right hand is a cause of trouble to you, let it be cut off and put it away from you; because it is better to undergo the loss of one part, than for all your body to go into hell.
Matthäus 5:31 Es ist auch gesagt: "Wer sich von seinem Weibe scheidet, der soll ihr geben einen Scheidebrief."	Matthew 5:31 Again, it was said, Whoever puts away his wife has to give her a statement in writing for this purpose:
Matthäus 5:32 Ich aber sage euch: Wer sich von seinem Weibe scheidet (es sei denn um Ehebruch), der macht, daß sie die Ehe bricht; und wer eine Abgeschiedene freit, der bricht die Ehe.	Matthew 5:32 But I say to you that everyone who puts away his wife for any other cause but the loss of her virtue, makes her false to her husband; and whoever takes her as his wife after she is put away, is no true husband to her.
Matthäus 5:33 Ihr habt weiter gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: "Du sollst keinen falschen Eid tun und sollst Gott deinen Eid halten."	Matthew 5:33 Again, you have knowledge that it was said in old times, Do not take false oaths, but give effect to your oaths to the Lord:
Matthäus 5:34 Ich aber sage euch, daß ihr überhaupt nicht schwören sollt, weder bei dem Himmel, denn er ist Gottes Stuhl,	Matthew 5:34 But I say to you, Take no oaths at all: not by the heaven, because it is the seat of God;
Matthäus 5:35 noch bei der Erde, denn sie ist seiner Füße Schemel, noch bei Jerusalem, denn sie ist des großen Königs Stadt.	Matthew 5:35 Or by the earth, because it is the resting-place for his foot; or by Jerusalem, because it is the town of the great King.
Matthäus 5:36 Auch sollst du nicht bei deinem Haupt schwören, denn du vermagst nicht ein einziges Haar schwarz oder weiß zu machen.	Matthew 5:36 You may not take an oath by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black.
Matthäus 5:37 Eure Rede aber sei: Ja, ja; nein, nein. Was darüber ist, das ist vom Übel.	Matthew 5:37 But let your words be simply, Yes or No: and whatever is more than these is of the Evil One.
Matthäus 5:38 Ihr habt gehört, daß da gesagt ist: "Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn."	Matthew 5:38 You have knowledge that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
Matthäus 5:39 Ich aber sage euch, daß ihr nicht widerstreben sollt dem Übel; sondern, so dir jemand einen Streich gibt auf deinen rechten Backen, dem biete den andern auch dar.	Matthew 5:39 But I say to you, Do not make use of force against an evil man; but to him who gives you a blow on the right side of your face let the left be turned.
Matthäus 5:40 Und so jemand mit dir rechten will und deinen Rock nehmen, dem laß auch den Mantel.	Matthew 5:40 And if any man goes to law with you and takes away your coat, do not keep back your robe from him.
Matthäus 5:41 Und so dich jemand nötigt eine Meile, so gehe mit ihm zwei.	Matthew 5:41 And whoever makes you go one mile, go with him two.
Matthäus 5:42 Gib dem, der dich bittet, und wende dich nicht von dem, der dir abborgen will.	Matthew 5:42 Give to him who comes with a request, and keep not your property from him who would for a time make use of it.
Matthäus 5:43 Ihr habt gehört, daß gesagt ist: "Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben und deinen Feind hassen."	Matthew 5:43 You have knowledge that it was said, Have love for your neighbour, and hate for him who is against you:
Matthäus 5:44 Ich aber sage euch: Liebet eure Feinde; segnet, die euch fluchen; tut wohl denen, die euch hassen; bittet für die, so euch beleidigen und verfolgen,	Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, Have love for those who are against you, and make prayer for those who are cruel to you;
Matthäus 5:45 auf daß ihr Kinder seid eures Vater im Himmel; denn er läßt seine Sonne aufgehen über die Bösen und über die Guten und läßt regnen über Gerechte und Ungerechte.	Matthew 5:45 So that you may be the sons of your Father in heaven; for his sun gives light to the evil and to the good, and he sends rain on the upright man and on the sinner.
Matthäus 5:46 Denn so ihr liebet, die euch lieben, was werdet ihr für Lohn haben? Tun nicht dasselbe auch die Zöllner?	Matthew 5:46 For if you have love for those who have love for you, what credit is it to you? do not the tax-farmers the same?
Matthäus 5:47 Und so ihr euch nur zu euren Brüdern freundlich tut, was tut ihr Sonderliches? Tun nicht die Zöllner auch also?	Matthew 5:47 And if you say, Good day, to your brothers only, what do you do more than others? do not even the Gentiles the same?
Matthäus 5:48 Darum sollt ihr vollkommen sein, gleichwie euer Vater im Himmel vollkommen ist.	Matthew 5:48 Be then complete in righteousness, even as your Father in heaven is complete.
