Psalmen 79:1 Gott, es sind Heiden in dein Erbe gefallen; die haben deinen heiligen Tempel verunreinigt und aus Jerusalem Steinhaufen gemacht.	Psalms 79:1 A Psalm. Of Asaph. O God, the nations have come into your heritage; they have made your holy Temple unclean; they have made Jerusalem a mass of broken walls.
Psalmen 79:2 Sie haben die Leichname deiner Knechte den Vögeln zu fressen gegeben und das Fleisch deiner Heiligen den Tieren im Lande.	Psalms 79:2 They have given the bodies of your servants as food to the birds of the air, and the flesh of your saints to the beasts of the earth.
Psalmen 79:3 Sie haben Blut vergossen um Jerusalem her wie Wasser; und war niemand, der begrub.	Psalms 79:3 Their blood has been flowing like water round about Jerusalem; there was no one to put them in their last resting-place.
Psalmen 79:4 Wir sind unsern Nachbarn eine Schmach geworden, ein Spott und Hohn denen, die um uns sind.	Psalms 79:4 We are looked down on by our neighbours, we are laughed at and made sport of by those who are round us.
Psalmen 79:5 HERR, wie lange willst du so gar zürnen und deinen Eifer wie Feuer brennen lassen?	Psalms 79:5 How long, O Lord? will you be angry for ever? will your wrath go on burning like fire?
Psalmen 79:6 Schütte deinen Grimm auf die Heiden, die dich nicht kennen, und auf die Königreiche, die deinen Namen nicht anrufen.	Psalms 79:6 Let your wrath be on the nations who have no knowledge of you, and on the kingdoms who have not made prayer to your name.
Psalmen 79:7 Denn sie haben Jakob aufgefressen und seine Häuser verwüstet.	Psalms 79:7 For they have taken Jacob for their meat, and made waste his house.
Psalmen 79:8 Gedenke nicht unsrer vorigen Missetaten; erbarme dich unser bald, denn wir sind sehr dünn geworden.	Psalms 79:8 Do not keep in mind against us the sins of our fathers; let your mercy come to us quickly, for we have been made very low.
Psalmen 79:9 Hilf du uns, Gott, unser Helfer, um deines Namens Ehre willen; errette uns und vergib uns unsre Sünden um deines Namens willen!	Psalms 79:9 Give us help, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name; take us out of danger and give us forgiveness for our sins, because of your name.
Psalmen 79:10 Warum lässest du die Heiden sagen: "Wo ist nun ihr Gott?" Laß unter den Heiden vor unsern Augen kund werden die Rache des Blutes deiner Knechte, das vergossen ist.	Psalms 79:10 Why may the nations say, Where is their God? Let payment for the blood of your servants be made openly among the nations before our eyes.
Psalmen 79:11 Laß vor dich kommen das Seufzen der Gefangenen; nach deinem großen Arm erhalte die Kinder des Todes	Psalms 79:11 Let the cry of the prisoner come before you; with your strong arm make free the children of death;
Psalmen 79:12 und vergilt unsern Nachbarn siebenfältig in ihren Busen ihr Schmähen, damit sie dich, HERR, geschmäht haben.	Psalms 79:12 And give punishment seven times over into the breast of our neighbours for the bitter words which they have said against you, O Lord.
Psalmen 79:13 Wir aber, dein Volk und Schafe deiner Weide, werden dir danken ewiglich und verkündigen deinen Ruhm für und für.	Psalms 79:13 So we your people, and the sheep of your flock, will give you glory for ever: we will go on praising you through all generations.
