Psalms 1
|
Happy is the man who does not go in the company of sinners, or take his place in the way of evil-doers, or in the seat of those who do not give honour to the Lord. | Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers: |
But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and whose mind is on his law day and night. | But his delight is in the law of Jehovah; And on his law doth he meditate day and night. |
He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, which gives its fruit at the right time, whose leaves will ever be green; and he will do well in all his undertakings. | And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also doth not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. |
The evil-doers are not so; but are like the dust from the grain, which the wind takes away. | The wicked are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. |
For this cause there will be no mercy for sinners when they are judged, and the evil-doers will have no place among the upright, | Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. |
Because the Lord sees the way of the upright, but the end of the sinner is destruction. | For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous; But the way of the wicked shall perish. |
