Psalms 62
|
To the chief music-maker. After Jeduthun. A Psalm. Of David. My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my salvation. | For the Chief Musician; after the manner of Jeduthan. A Psalm of David. My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him [cometh] my salvation. |
He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved. | He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved. |
How long will you go on designing evil against a man? running against him as against a broken wall, which is on the point of falling? | How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay [him], all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence? |
Their only thought is to put him down from his place of honour; their delight is in deceit: blessing is in their mouths but cursing in their hearts. (Selah.) | They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah |
My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my hope. | My soul, wait thou in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him. |
He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved. | He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be moved. |
In God is my salvation, and my glory; the Rock of my strength, and my safe place. | With God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. |
Have faith in him at all times, you people; let your hearts go flowing out before him: God is our safe place. (Selah.) | Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah |
Truly men of low birth are nothing, and men of high position are not what they seem; if they are put in the scales together they are less than a breath. | Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: In the balances they will go up; They are together lighter than vanity. |
Have no faith in the rewards of evil-doing, or in profits wrongly made: if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it. | Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart [thereon]. |
Once has God said, twice has it come to my ears, that power is God's: | God hath spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongeth unto God. |
And mercy, O Lord, is yours, for you give to every man the reward of his work. | Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth lovingkindness; For thou renderest to every man according to his work. |
