Psalms 92
|
A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath. It is a good thing to give praise to the Lord, and to make melody to your name, O Most High; | It is a good thing to give thanks unto Jehovah, And to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High; |
To make clear your mercy in the morning, and your unchanging faith every night; | To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, And thy faithfulness every night, |
On a ten-corded instrument, and on an instrument of music with a quiet sound. | With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery; With a solemn sound upon the harp. |
For you, O Lord, have made me glad through your work; I will have joy in the works of your hands. | For thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. |
O Lord, how great are your works! and your thoughts are very deep. | How great are thy works, O Jehovah! Thy thoughts are very deep. |
A man without sense has no knowledge of this; and a foolish man may not take it in. | A brutish man knoweth not; Neither doth a fool understand this: |
When the sinners come up like the grass, and all the workers of evil do well for themselves, it is so that their end may be eternal destruction. | When the wicked spring as the grass, And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; It is that they shall be destroyed for ever. |
But you, O Lord, are on high for ever. | But thou, O Jehovah, art on high for evermore. |
For see! your haters, O Lord, will be put to death; all the workers of evil will be put to flight; | For, lo, thine enemies, O Jehovah, For, lo, thine enemies shall perish; All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. |
But my horn is lifted up like the horn of the ox: the best oil is flowing on my head. | But my horn hast thou exalted like [the horn of] the wild-ox: I am anointed with fresh oil. |
My eyes have seen trouble come on my haters; my ears have news of the fate of the evil-doers who have come up against me. | Mine eye also hath seen [my desire] on mine enemies, Mine ears have heard [my desire] of the evil-doers that rise up against me. |
The good man will be like a tall tree in his strength; his growth will be as the wide-stretching trees of Lebanon. | The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree: He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. |
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord will come up tall and strong in his gardens. | They are planted in the house of Jehovah; They shall flourish in the courts of our God. |
They will give fruit even when they are old; they will be fertile and full of growth; | They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and green: |
For a sign that the Lord is upright; he is my Rock, there is no deceit in him. | To show that Jehovah is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. Psalm 93 |
