| I have given an earlier account, O Theophilus, of all the things which Jesus did, and of his teaching from the first, | Sa nahauna kong basahon, O Teofilo, naghisgot ako mahitungod sa tanang butang nga gisugdan ni Jesus sa pagbuhat ug pagpanudlo, |
| Till the day when he was taken up to heaven after he had given his orders, through the Holy Spirit, to the Apostles of whom he had made selection: | hangtud sa adlaw sa pagbayaw kaniya paingon sa langit, tapus siya makahatag ug mga tugon pinaagi sa Espiritu Santo ngadto sa mga apostoles nga iyang gipili. |
| And to whom he gave clear and certain signs that he was living, after his death; for he was seen by them for forty days, and gave them teaching about the kingdom of God: | Tapus sa iyang pag-antus, kanila mipakita siya nga buhi pinaagi sa daghang mga pagpamatuod, nga nagpakita ngadto kanila sulod sa kap-atan ka adlaw, ug nagsulti kanila mahitungod sa gingharian sa Dios. |
| And when they were all together, with him, he gave them orders not to go away from Jerusalem, but to keep there, waiting till the word of the Father was put into effect, of which, he said, I have given you knowledge: | Ug samtang diha siya uban kanila, siya misugo kanila sa dili pagbiya sa Jerusalem, kondili sa pagpaabut sa gisaad sa Amahan, nga, matud pa niya, "inyong nadungog gikan kanako, |

| So, when they were together, they said to him, Lord, will you at this time give back the kingdom to Israel? | Ug unya sa nagkatigum sila, gipangutana siya nila nga nag-ingon, "Ginoo, niini bang panahona karon igapahiuli mo ang gingharian ngadto sa Israel?" |

| But you will have power, when the Holy Spirit has come on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judaea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. | Apan kamo magadawat hinoon ug gahum sa diha nga kakunsaran na kamo sa Espiritu Santo; ug kamo mao unya ang akong mga saksi sa Jerusalem ug sa tibuok Judea ug Samaria ug hangtud sa kinatumyan sa yuta." |
| And when he had said these things, while they were looking, he was taken up, and went from their view into a cloud. | Ug sa nakasulti na siya niini, samtang nanagtan-aw sila, naisa siya sa kahitas-an ug gibayaw sa usa ka panganud hawa sa ilang mga mata. |

| And said, O men of Galilee, why are you looking up into heaven? | My brothers, the word of God had to be put into effect, which the Holy Spirit had said before, by the mouth of David, about Judas, who was guide to those who took Jesus, | "Mga igsoon, kinahanglan nga matuman gayud ang kasulatan nga gipamulong daan sa Espiritu Santo pinaagi sa baba ni David, mahitungod kang Judas nga nahimong magtotultol sa mga nanagdakop kang Jesus. |
| For he was numbered among us, and had his part in our work. | Kay kadto siya nahiapil man kanamo ug nakabaton ug bahin niining maong pagpang-alagad. |
| (Now this man, with the reward of his evil-doing, got for himself a field, and falling head first, came to a sudden and violent end there. | (Ug kini siya nakapanag-iyag usa ka luna nga yuta gumikan sa gisuhol kaniya sa iyang pagkadili matarung; ug sa pagkahulog niya nga nag-una ang ulo, mibuto ang iyang tiyan ug nahurot pagkayagyag ang iyang tinai. |
| And this came to the knowledge of all those who were living in Jerusalem, so that the field was named in their language, Akel-dama, or, The field of blood.) | Ug nahibaloan kini sa tanang nanagpuyo sa Jerusalem nga tungod niana kadtong yutaa ginganlan ug Akeldama sa ilang pinulongan, nga sa ato pa, Yuta nga Dugoon.` |

| And they made prayers and said, Lord, having knowledge of the hearts of all men, make clear which of these two has been marked out by you, | Ug nanag-ampo sila nga nag-ingon, "Ginoo, ikaw nga nasayud sa mga kasingkasing sa tanang tawo, ipasundayag kinsa niining duha ang imong gipili |
