Jonah 1	Jonas 1
Jonah 1:1 And the word of the Lord came to Jonah, the son of Amittai, saying,	Jonas 1:1 Karon ang pulong ni Jehova midangat kang Jonas ang anak nga lalake ni Amittai, nga nagaingon:
Jonah 1:2 Up! go to Nineveh, that great town, and let your voice come to it; for their evil-doing has come up before me.	Jonas 1:2 Tumindog ka, sa Ninive, kanang dakung ciudad, ug sumiggit ka batok niana; kay ang ilang pagkadautan midangat sa akong atubangan.
Jonah 1:3 And Jonah got up to go in flight to Tarshish, away from the Lord; and he went down to Joppa, and saw there a ship going to Tarshish: so he gave them the price of the journey and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish, away from the Lord.	Jonas 1:3 Apan ni Jonas mitindog aron sa pagkalagiw paingon sa Tarsis gikan sa atubangan ni Jehova; ug siya milugsong ngadto sa Joppe, ug nakakaplag usa ka sakayan paingon sa Tarsis: busa mibayad siya sa ilete niana, ug misakay niana, aron sa pag-adto uban kanila ngadto sa Tarsis gikan sa atubangan ni Jehova.
Jonah 1:4 And the Lord sent out a great wind on to the sea and there was a violent storm in the sea, so that the ship seemed in danger of being broken.	Jonas 1:4 Apan si Jehova nagpadala ug usa ka dakung hangin ibabaw sa kadagatan, ug miabut ang makusog nga bagyo sa dagat, sa pagkaagi nga ang sakayan daw naguba na.
Jonah 1:5 Then the sailors were full of fear, every man crying to his god; and the goods in the ship were dropped out into the sea to make the weight less. But Jonah had gone down into the inmost part of the ship where he was stretched out in a deep sleep.	Jonas 1:5 Nan ang mga sakayanon nangahadlok, ug ang tagsatagsa ka tawo misinggit sa pagpakitabang sa iyang dios; ug ilang gisalibay ngadto dagat ang uban nilang mga lulan sa sakayan, aron sa pagpagaan niini alang kanila. Apan si Jonas misulod ngadto sa labing tago nga mga bahin sa sakayan ug siya mihigda, ug nahikatulog sa halalum nga paghinamok.
Jonah 1:6 And the ship's captain came to him and said to him, What are you doing sleeping? Up! say a prayer to your God, if by chance God will give a thought to us, so that we may not come to destruction.	Jonas 1:6 Busa ang arayis sa sakayan miadto kaniya, ug miingon kaniya: Unsa ang buot mong ipasabut, Oh hingatulogon? tindog, tawga ang imong Dios, basin pa ang Dios magahunahuna tungod kanato, aron kita dili mangamatay.
Jonah 1:7 And they said to one another, Come, let us put this to the decision of chance and see on whose account this evil has come on us. So they did so, and Jonah was seen to be the man.	Jonas 1:7 Ug ang tagsatagsa kanila miingon sa iyang kauban: Umari kamo, ug magpapalad kita, aron hibaloan ta kong kang kinsa nahimutang kining kadautan nga midangat kanato. Busa nagpapadala sila, ug ang palad naha-igo kang Jonas.
Jonah 1:8 Then they said to him, Now make clear to us what is your work, and where you come from? what is your country, and who are your people?	Jonas 1:8 Unya sila ming-ingon kaniya: Suginli kami, nangaliyupo kami kanimo, alang kang kinsang hinungdan nga kining kadaut midangat man kanato; unsa ang imong bulohaton? ug diin ba ikaw gikan? taga-diin ba nga yuta ikaw? ug sa unsa nga katawohan ikaw?
Jonah 1:9 And he said to them, I am a Hebrew, a worshipper of the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.	Jonas 1:9 Ug siya miingon kanila: Ako Hebreohanon man; ug ako mahadlokon kang Jehova, ang Dios sa langit, nga maoy nagbuhat sa dagat ug sa yuta nga mamala.
Jonah 1:10 And the men were in great fear, and they said to him, What is this you have done? For the men had knowledge of his flight from the Lord because he had not kept it from them.	Jonas 1:10 Unya ang mga tawo nangahadlok sa hilabihan gayud, ug ming-ingon kaniya:
Jonah 1:11 And they said to him, What are we to do to you so that the sea may become calm for us? For the sea was getting rougher and rougher.	Jonas 1:11 Ug sila ming-ingon kaniya: Unsa ang among pagabuhaton kanimo, aron ang dagat magmalinawon alang kanamo? kay nagkakusog ang b agyo sa dagat.
Jonah 1:12 And he said to them, Take me up and put me into the sea, and the sea will become calm for you: for I am certain that because of me this great storm has come on you.	Jonas 1:12 Ug siya miingon kanila: Sakwata ako, ug itambog ako ngadto sa dagat; aron ang dagat magmalinawon alang kaninyo: kay ako nahibalo nga tungod kanako kining dakung bagyo midangat kaninyo.
Jonah 1:13 And the men were working hard to get back to the land, but they were not able to do so: for the sea got rougher and rougher against them.	Jonas 1:13 Apan ang mga tawo nanaggaud sa makusog aron sila mahibalik sa yuta; apan sila wala makahimo; kay ang bagyo sa dagat misamot pagkakusog batok kanila.
Jonah 1:14 So, crying to the Lord, they said, Give ear to our prayer, O Lord, give ear, and do not let destruction overtake us because of this man's life; do not put on us the sin of taking life without cause: for you, O Lord, have done what seemed good to you.	Jonas 1:14 Busa sila mingtu-aw kang Jehova, ug ming-ingon: Nangaliyupo kami kanimo, Oh Jehova, nangaliyupo kami kanimo, ayaw pag-itugot nga kami mangamatay tungod sa kinabuhi niining tawohanana, ug ayaw ibutang sa ibabaw namo ang dugo nga inocente; kay ikaw, Oh Jehova, nagbuhat ingon sa nahamut-an nimo.
Jonah 1:15 So they took Jonah up and put him into the sea: and the sea was no longer angry.	Jonas 1:15 Busa ilang gisakwat si Jonas, ug gitambog siya ngadto sa dagat; ug ang dagat mihunong sa iyang kabangis.
Jonah 1:16 Then great was the men's fear of the Lord; and they made an offering to the Lord and took oaths to him.	Jonas 1:16 Unya ang mga tawo nangahadlok kang Jehova sa hilabihan gayud; ug sila nanaghalad usa ka halad kang Jehova, ug nanagpanaad sila.
Jonah 1:17 And the Lord made ready a great fish to take Jonah into its mouth; and Jonah was inside the fish for three days and three nights.	Jonas 1:17 Ug giandam ni Jehova ang usa ka dakung isda nga molomoy kang Jonas; ug si Jonas diha sa sulod sa tiyan sa isda totolo ka adlaw ug totolo ka gabii.
