| Now when it came to the ears of Adoni-zedek, king of Jerusalem, that Joshua had taken Ai, and had given it up to the curse (for as he had done to Jericho and its king, so he had done to Ai and its king); and that the people of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were living among them; | Karon nahitabo nga si Adonisedec, ang hari sa Jerusalem, nakadungog kong giunsa ni Josue ang pagkuha sa Ai, ug sa pagkalaglag gayud pag-ayo niini (sumala sa iyang gibuhat sa Jerico ug sa iyang hari, mao usab ang gibuhat niya sa Ai ug sa iyang hari), ug kong giunsa sa mga pumoluyo sa Gabaon ang pagbuhat sa pakigdait uban sa mga Israelihanon, ug ming-ipon na kanila; |
| He was in great fear, because Gibeon was a great town, like one of the king's towns, greater than Ai, and all the men in it were men of war. | Nga sila nangahadlok gayud tungod kay ang Gabaon mao man ang usa ka ciudad nga daku, ingon nga usa man sa mga harianong ciudad, ug labing daku kay sa Ai, ug ang tanang mga tawo didto mga gamhanan. |
| So Adoni-zedek, king of Jerusalem, sent to Hoham, king of Hebron, and to Piram, king of Jarmuth, and to Japhia, king of Lachish, and to Debir, king of Eglon, saying, | Busa si Adonisedec, ang hari sa Jerusalem nagpasugo kang Oham, hari sa Hebron, ug kang Piream, hari sa Jarmut, ug kang Japia, hari sa Lachis, ug kang Debir, hari sa Eglon. nga nagaingon: |

| And the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua to the tent-circle at Gilgal, saying, Be not slow to send help to your servants; come up quickly to our support and keep us safe: for all the kings of the Amorites from the hill-country have come together against us. | Ug ang mga tawo sa Gabaon nagpasugo kang Josue ngadto sa campo sa Gilgal, nga nagaingon: Ayaw pag-ipahalayo ang imong kamot gikan sa imong mga ulipon; umari ka kanamo sa pagdali, ug luwasa kami, ug tabangi kami, kay ang tanang mga hari sa mga Amorehanon nga namuyo sa mga kabungtoran nanagtigum batok kanamo. |
| So Joshua went up from Gilgal with all his army and all his men of war. | Busa si Josue mitungas, gikan sa Gilgal, siya ug ang tibook katawohan sa panggubatan uban kaniya, ug ang tanang mga tawo nga mga maisug kaayo. |
| And the Lord said to Joshua, Have no fear of them, for I have given them into your hands; they will all give way before you. | Ug si Jehova miingon kang Josue: Ayaw kahadloki sila: kay gihatag ko na sila sa imong mga kamot; walay bisan usa ka tawo kanila nga makasukol kanimo. |
| So Joshua, having come up from Gilgal all night, made a sudden attack on them. | Busa si Josue miadto kanila dihadiha; kay siya mitungas sa tibook nga gabii gikan sa Gilgal. |
| And the Lord made them full of fear before Israel, and they put great numbers of them to death at Gibeon, and went after them by the way going up to Beth-horon, driving them back to Azekah and Makkedah | Ug sila gigubot ni Jehova diha sa atubangan sa Israel, ug iyang gipatay sila sa usa ka dakung kamatay didto sa Gabaon, ug gigukod sila ngadto sa tungasan sa Beth-oron, ug gilaglag sila hangtud sa Azeca ug ngadto sa Maceda. |
| And in their flight before Israel, on the way down from Beth-horon, the Lord sent down great stones from heaven on them all the way to Azekah, causing their death: those whose death was caused by the stones were more than those whom the children of Israel put to death with the sword. | Ug nahitabo, sa diha nga sila nangalagiw gikan sa atubangan sa tibook Israel, sa diha pa sila sa lugsonganan sa Beth-oron, nga si Jehova nagpaatak sa dagkung bato gikan sa langit sa ibabaw nila hangtud sa Azeca ug sila nangamatay: labing daghan kanila ang nangamatay sa ulan-sa-yelo-nga-bato kay sa mga napatay sa mga anak sa Israel pinaagi sa ilang mga pinuti. |
| It was on the day when the Lord gave up the Amorites into the hands of the children of Israel that Joshua said to the Lord, before the eyes of Israel, Sun, be at rest over Gibeon; and you, O moon, in the valley of Aijalon. | Unya misulti si Josue kang Jehova sa adlaw nga si Jehova mitugyan sa mga Amorehanon sa mga anak sa Israel; ug miingon siya sa atubangan sa Israel: Adlaw, humonong ka sa ibabaw sa Gabaon; Ug ikaw, Bulan, sa walog sa Ajalon. |
| And the sun was at rest and the moon kept its place till the nation had given punishment to their attackers. (Is it not recorded in the book of Jashar?) So the sun kept its place in the middle of the heavens, and was waiting, and did not go down, for the space of a day. | Ug ang Adlaw mihunong, ug ang Bulan wala lumakaw, Hangtud ang nasud nakabalus sa ilang mga kaaway. |
| And there was no day like that, before it or after it, when the Lord gave ear to the voice of a man; for the Lord was fighting for Israel. | Ug walay adlaw nga sama niana, sa una kun sa ulahi niya, nga si Jehova nagpatalinghug sa tingog sa tawo: kay si Jehova nakig-away alang kang Israel. |
| And Joshua, with all Israel, went back to the tent-circle at Gilgal. | Ug si Josue mipauli ug ang tibook Israel uban kaniya, ngadto sa campo sa Gilgal. |
| But these five kings went in flight secretly to a hole in the rock at Makkedah. | Ug kining lima ka mga hari nangalagiw, ug nanago sa langub sa Maceda. |
| And word was given to Joshua that the five kings had been taken in a hole in the rock at Makkedah. | Ug gisugilon kang Josue nga nagaingon: Ang lima ka mga hari hingkaplagan nga nanagtago didto sa langub sa Maceda. |
| And Joshua said, Let great stones be rolled against the mouth of the hole, and let men keep watch by it: | Ug si Josue miingon: Paligira ang mga dagkung bato ngadto sa baba sa langub, ug butangi ug mga tawo haduol niini nga makabantay kanila. |
| But do you, without waiting, go after their army, attacking them from the back; do not let them get into their towns, for the Lord your God has given them into your hands. | Apan ayaw kamo paglangan; sunda ang inyong mga kaaway, ug patyon ang kinaulahian kanila; ayaw sila pagpasudla sa ilang mga ciudad: kay si Jehova nga inyong Dios naghatag na kanila sa inyong kamot. |
| Now when Joshua and the children of Israel had come to the end of their war of complete destruction, and had put to death all but a small band who had got safely into the walled towns, | Ug nahatabo, sa ming-undang si Josue ug ang mga anak sa Israel sa pagpamatay kanila sa dakung kamatay, hangtud nga sila nangahurot ug ang salin nga nahabilin kanila nakasulod na ngadto sa mga ciudad nga kinutaan, |
| All the people went back to Joshua to the tent-circle at Makkedah in peace: and no one said a word against the children of Israel. | Nga ang tibook katawohan namauli sa campo ngadto kang Josue didto sa Maceda sa kalinaw: wala may nanulti batok sa mga anak sa Israel. |
| Then Joshua said, Take away the stones from the mouth of the hole in the rock, and make those five kings come out to me. | Unya miingon si Josue: Ukbi ang baba sa langub ug paggulaa kanang lima ka mga hari ngari kanako gikan sa langub. |
| And they did so, and made those five kings come out of the hole to him, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon. | Ug gihimo nila ug gipagula kadtong lima ka mga hari ngadto kaniya gikan sa langub, ang hari sa Jerusalem, ang hari sa Hebron, ang hari sa Jerimoth, ang hari sa Lachis, ug ang hari sa Eglon. |
| And when they had made those kings come out to Joshua, Joshua sent for all the men of Israel, and said to the chiefs of the men of war who had gone with him, Come near and put your feet on the necks of these kings. So they came near and put their feet on their necks. | Ug nahitabo sa diha nga gipagula na kadtong lima ka mga hari ngadto kang Josue, nga si Josue mitawag sa tanang mga tawo sa Israel, ug miingon sa mga pangulo sa mga tawo sa pag-awayan nga uban kaniya: Dumuol kamo, ug ibutang ninyo ang inyong mga tiil sa mga liog niining lima ka mga hari. | And Joshua said to them, Have no fear and do not be troubled; be strong and take heart: for so will the Lord do to all against whom you make war. | Ug si Josue miingon kanila: Ayaw kahadlok, ayaw kaluya; magmabaskugon kamo ug magmaisugon kamo: kay ingon niana ang pagabuhaton ni Jehova sa tanan ninyong mga kaaway nga inyong pagaawayon. |
| Then Joshua had them put to death, hanging them on five trees, where they were till evening. | Ug unya gitigbas sila ni Josue, ug gipatay sila, ug gibitay sila sa ibabaw sa lima ka kahoy: ug nanagbitay sila sa ibabaw sa mga kahoy hangtud sa kahaponon. |
| And when the sun went down, they were taken down from the trees, by Joshua's orders, and put into the hole where they had gone to be safe; and great stones were placed at the mouth of the hole, where they are to this day. | Ug nahatabo sa panahon sa pagsalop sa adlaw, nga si Josue misugo ug gikuha sila gikan sa mga kahoy ug gitambog sila ngadto sa langub nga ilang gitagoan, ug dihay gibutang nga dagkung mga bato sa baba sa langub hangtud niining adlawa. |
| That day Joshua took Makkedah, and put it and its king to the sword; every soul in it he gave up to the curse without mercy: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho. | Ug nakuha ni Josue ang Maceda niadtong adlawa, ug iyang gipatay pinaagi sa sulab sa iyang pinuti ang hari didto, ug sila gilaglag gayud niya ug ang tanang kalag nga diha niana; ug walay mausa nga iyang gibilin; ug gihimo niya sa hari sa Maceda ingon sa gibuhat niya sa hari sa Jerico. |
| Then Joshua and all Israel with him went on from Makkedah and came to Libnah, and made an attack on it; | Ug si Josue milabay gikan sa Maceda, ug ang tibook Israel kuyog kaniya, ngadto sa Libna, ug gigubat ang Libna: |
| And again the Lord gave it and its king into the hands of Israel; and he put it and every person in it to the sword, till their destruction was complete; and he did to its king as he had done to the king of Jericho. | Ug si Jehova naghatag usab niini, ingon man ang hari niana, ngadto sa kamot sa Israel; ug iyang gitigbas kini sa pinuti, ug ang tanang mga kalag nga didto; walay mausa nga iyang gibilin didto; ug gihimo niya sa hari niini sama sa iyang gihimo sa hari sa Jerico. |
| Then Joshua and all Israel with him went on from Libnah to Lachish, and took up their position against it and made an attack on it, | Ug si Josue milabay gikan sa Libna, ug ang tibook Israel kuyog kaniya, ngadto sa Lachis, ug mingpahaluna didto, ug gigubat niya: |
| And the Lord gave Lachish into the hands of Israel, and on the second day he took it, putting it and every person in it to the sword without mercy, as he had done to Libnah. | Ug ang Lachis gihatag ni Jehova sa kamot sa Israel; ug gikuha niya kini sa ikaduhang adlaw, ug gitigbas niya pinaagi sa sulab sa pinuti, ug ang tanang mga kalag nga didto, sumala sa tanan nga iyang gibuhat sa Libna. |
| Then Horam, king of Gezer, came up to the help of Lachish; and Joshua overcame him and his people, putting all of them to death. | Ug unya si Horam, ang hari sa Gezer, mitungas sa pagtabang sa Lachis; ug si Josue nagpatay kaniya ug sa iyang katawohan hangtud nga wala nay nahabilin kanila. |
| And Joshua and all Israel with him went on from Lachish to Eglon: and they took up their position against it and made an attack on it; | Ug si Josue milabay gikan sa Lachis ug ang tibook Israel uban kaniya ngadto sa Eglon; ug sa atbang niadto mingpahaluna sila, ug ilang gigubat kadto. |
| And that day they took it, putting it and every person in it to the sword, as he had done to Lachish. | Ug ilang gikuha kadto niadtong adlawa; ug gitigbas kadto pinaagi sa sulab sa iyang pinuti; ug ang tanang mga kalag nga didto niadtong adlawa iyang gihurot paglalag sumala sa iyang gibuhat sa Lachis. |
| And Joshua and all Israel with him went up from Eglon to Hebron, and made an attack on it; | Ug si Josue mitungas gikan sa Eglon, ug ang tibook Israel kuyog kaniya ngadto sa Hebron; ug ilang giaway kadto; |
| And took it, overcoming it and putting it and its king and its towns and every person in it to the sword: as he had done to Eglon, he put them all to death, and gave it up to the curse with every person in it. | Ug ilang gikuha kini, ug gitigbas pinaagi sa sulab sa pinuti ug ang hari niini ug ang tanang mga ciudad niini, ug ang tanang mga kalag nga diha niini; walay mausa nga iyang gibilin sumala sa iyang gibuhat didto sa Eglon: apan iyang gilaglag gayud kini ug ang tanang mga kalag nga diha niini. |
| And Joshua and all Israel with him went on to make an attack on Debir; | Ug si Josue mibalik, ug ang tibook Israel kuyog kaniya ngadto sa Debir ug nakig-away batok niini: |
| And he took it, with its king and all its towns: and he put them to the sword, giving every person in it to the curse; all were put to death: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir and its king. | Ug iyang gikuha kini, ug ang hari niini ug ang tanang mga ciudad niini; ug ilang gitigbas sila sa sulab sa pinuti, ug gihurot pagpanglaglag ang tanang mga kalag nga diha niini; walay mausa nga gibilin niya: sumala sa iyang gibuhat sa Hebron, iyang gibuhat usab sa Debir ug sa hari niini; ingon sa iyang gibuhat usab sa Libna ug sa iyang hari niini. |
| So Joshua overcame all the land, the hill-country and the South and the lowland and the mountain slopes, and all their kings; all were put to death: and every living thing he gave up to the curse, as the Lord, the God of Israel, had given him orders. | Busa gilaglag ni Josue ang tibook nga yuta, ang dapit sa kabungtoran, ug ang Habagatan, ug ang kapatagan, ug ang kawalogan, ug ang tanan nilang mga hari: walay gibilin niya, kondili gilaglag gayud niya ang tanan nga nagaginhawa, sumala sa gisugo ni Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel. |
| Joshua overcame them from Kadesh-barnea to Gaza, and all the land of Goshen as far as Gibeon. | Ug si Josue naglaglag kanila gikan sa Cades-barnea hangtud sa Gaza, ug ang tanang kayutaan sa Gosen, hangtud sa Gabaon. |
| And all these kings and their land Joshua took at the same time, because the Lord, the God of Israel, was fighting for Israel. | Ug ang tanang mga hari ug ang ilang mga yuta gikuha ni Josue sa makausa kay si Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel, nakig-away alang sa Israel. |
| Then Joshua and all Israel with him went back to their tents at Gilgal. | Ug si Josue mibalik, ug ang tibook Israel uban kaniya ngadto sa campo sa Gilgal. |
