Amos 5:1 Give ear to this word, my song of sorrow over you, O children of Israel.	Amos 5:1 Écoutez cette parole, Cette complainte que je prononce sur vous, Maison d`Israël!
Amos 5:2 The virgin of Israel has been made low, never again to be lifted up: she is stretched out by herself on her land; there is no one to put her on her feet again.	Amos 5:2 Elle est tombée, elle ne se relèvera plus, La vierge d`Israël; Elle est couchée par terre, Nul ne la relève.
Amos 5:3 For these are the words of the Lord God: The town which was able to send out a thousand, will have only a hundred; and that which sent out a hundred, will have only ten, in Israel.	Amos 5:3 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: La ville qui mettait en campagne mille hommes N`en conservera que cent, Et celle qui mettait en campagne cent hommes N`en conservera que dix, pour la maison d`Israël.
Amos 5:4 For these are the words of the Lord to the children of Israel: Let your hearts be turned to me, so that you may have life:	Amos 5:4 Car ainsi parle l`Éternel à la maison d`Israël: Cherchez-moi, et vous vivrez!
Amos 5:5 Do not be looking for help to Beth-el, and do not go to Gilgal, or make your way to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal will certainly be taken prisoner, and Beth-el will come to nothing.	Amos 5:5 Ne cherchez pas Béthel, N`allez pas à Guilgal, Ne passez pas à Beer Schéba. Car Guilgal sera captif, Et Béthel anéanti.
Amos 5:6 Go to the Lord for help so that you may have life; for fear that he may come like fire bursting out in the family of Joseph, causing destruction, and there will be no one to put it out in Beth-el.	Amos 5:6 Cherchez l`Éternel, et vous vivrez! Craignez qu`il ne saisisse comme un feu la maison de Joseph, Et que ce feu ne la dévore, sans personne à Béthel pour l`éteindre,
Amos 5:7 You who make the work of judging a bitter thing, crushing down righteousness to the earth;	Amos 5:7 O vous qui changez le droit en absinthe, Et qui foulez à terre la justice!
Amos 5:8 Go for help to him who makes Orion and the Pleiades, by whom the deep dark is turned into morning, who makes the day black with night; whose voice goes out to the waters of the sea, sending them out over the face of the earth: the Lord is his name;	Amos 5:8 Il a créé les Pléiades et l`Orion, Il change les ténèbres en aurore, Il obscurcit le jour pour en faire la nuit, Il appelle les eaux de la mer, Et les répand à la surface de la terre: L`Éternel est son nom.
Amos 5:9 Who sends sudden destruction on the strong, so that destruction comes on the walled town.	Amos 5:9 Il fait lever la ruine sur les puissants, Et la ruine vient sur les forteresses.
Amos 5:10 They have hate for him who makes protest against evil in the public place, and he whose words are upright is disgusting to them.	Amos 5:10 Ils haïssent celui qui les reprend à la porte, Et ils ont en horreur celui qui parle sincèrement.
Amos 5:11 So because the poor man is crushed under your feet, and you take taxes from him of grain: you have made for yourselves houses of cut stone, but you will not take your rest in them; the fair vine-gardens planted by your hands will not give you wine.	Amos 5:11 Aussi, parce que vous avez foulé le misérable, Et que vous avez pris de lui du blé en présent, Vous avez bâti des maisons en pierres de taille, Mais vous ne les habiterez pas; Vous avez planté d`excellentes vignes, Mais vous n`en boirez pas le vin.
Amos 5:12 For I have seen how your evil-doing is increased and how strong are your sins, you troublers of the upright, who take rewards and do wrong to the cause of the poor in the public place.	Amos 5:12 Car, je le sais, vos crimes sont nombreux, Vos péchés se sont multipliés; Vous opprimez le juste, vous recevez des présents, Et vous violez à la porte le droit des pauvres.
Amos 5:13 So the wise will say nothing in that time; for it is an evil time.	Amos 5:13 Voilà pourquoi, en des temps comme ceux-ci, le sage se tait; Car ces temps sont mauvais.
Amos 5:14 Go after good and not evil, so that life may be yours: and so the Lord, the God of armies, will be with you, as you say.	Amos 5:14 Recherchez le bien et non le mal, afin que vous viviez, Et qu`ainsi l`Éternel, le Dieu des armées, soit avec vous, Comme vous le dites.
Amos 5:15 Be haters of evil and lovers of good, and let right be done in the public place: it may be that the Lord, the God of armies, will have mercy on the rest of Joseph.	Amos 5:15 Haïssez le mal et aimez le bien, Faites régner à la porte la justice; Et peut-être l`Éternel, le Dieu des armées, aura pitié Des restes de Joseph.
Amos 5:16 So these are the words of the Lord, the God of armies, the Lord: There will be weeping in all the open spaces; and in all the streets they will say, Sorrow! sorrow! and they will get in the farmer to the weeping, and the makers of sad songs to give cries of grief.	Amos 5:16 C`est pourquoi ainsi parle l`Éternel, le Dieu des armées, le Seigneur; Dans toutes les places on se lamentera, Dans toutes les rues on dira: Hélas! hélas! On appellera le laboureur au deuil, Et aux lamentations ceux qui disent des complaintes.
Amos 5:17 In all the vine-gardens there will be cries of grief: for I will go through among you, says the Lord.	Amos 5:17 Dans toutes les vignes on se lamentera, Lorsque je passerai au milieu de toi, dit l`Éternel.
Amos 5:18 Sorrow to you who are looking for the day of the Lord! what is the day of the Lord to you? it is dark and not light.	Amos 5:18 Malheur à ceux qui désirent le jour de l`Éternel! Qu`attendez-vous du jour de l`Éternel? Il sera ténèbres et non lumière.
Amos 5:19 As if a man, running away from a lion, came face to face with a bear; or went into the house and put his hand on the wall and got a bite from a snake.	Amos 5:19 Vous serez comme un homme qui fuit devant un lion Et que rencontre un ours, Qui gagne sa demeure, appuie sa main sur la muraille, Et que mord un serpent.
Amos 5:20 Will not the day of the Lord be dark and not light? even very dark, with no light shining in it?	Amos 5:20 Le jour de l`Éternel n`est-il pas ténèbres et non lumière? N`est-il pas obscur et sans éclat?
Amos 5:21 Your feasts are disgusting to me, I will have nothing to do with them; I will take no delight in your holy meetings.	Amos 5:21 Je hais, je méprise vos fêtes, Je ne puis sentir vos assemblées.
Amos 5:22 Even if you give me your burned offerings and your meal offerings, I will not take pleasure in them: I will have nothing to do with the peace-offerings of your fat beasts.	Amos 5:22 Quand vous me présentez des holocaustes et des offrandes, Je n`y prends aucun plaisir; Et les veaux engraissés que vous sacrifiez en actions de grâces, Je ne les regarde pas.
Amos 5:23 Take away from me the noise of your songs; my ears are shut to the melody of your instruments.	Amos 5:23 Éloigne de moi le bruit de tes cantiques; Je n`écoute pas le son de tes luths.
Amos 5:24 But let the right go rolling on like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.	Amos 5:24 Mais que la droiture soit comme un courant d`eau, Et la justice comme un torrent qui jamais ne tarit.
Amos 5:25 Did you come to me with offerings of beasts and meal offerings in the waste land for forty years, O Israel?	Amos 5:25 M`avez-vous fait des sacrifices et des offrandes Pendant les quarante années du désert, maison d`Israël?...
Amos 5:26 Truly, you will take up Saccuth your king and Kaiwan your images, the star of your god, which you made for yourselves.	Amos 5:26 Emportez donc la tente de votre roi, Le piédestal de vos idoles, L`étoile de votre Dieu Que vous vous êtes fabriqué!
Amos 5:27 And I will send you away as prisoners farther than Damascus, says the Lord, whose name is the God of armies.	Amos 5:27 Et je vous emmènerai captifs au delà de Damas, Dit l`Éternel, dont le nom est le Dieu des armées.
