Genesis 30:1 Now Rachel, because she had no children, was full of envy of her sister; and she said to Jacob, If you do not give me children I will not go on living.	Genèse 30:1 Lorsque Rachel vit qu`elle ne donnait point d`enfants à Jacob, elle porta envie à sa soeur, et elle dit à Jacob: Donne-moi des enfants, ou je meurs!
Genesis 30:2 But Jacob was angry with Rachel, and said, Am I in the place of God, who has kept your body from having fruit?	Genèse 30:2 La colère de Jacob s`enflamma contre Rachel, et il dit: Suis-je à la place de Dieu, qui t`empêche d`être féconde?
Genesis 30:3 Then she said, Here is my servant Bilhah, go in to her, so that she may have a child on my knees, and I may have a family by her.	Genèse 30:3 Elle dit: Voici ma servante Bilha; va vers elle; qu`elle enfante sur mes genoux, et que par elle j`aie aussi des fils.
Genesis 30:4 So she gave him her servant Bilhah as a wife, and Jacob went in to her.	Genèse 30:4 Et elle lui donna pour femme Bilha, sa servante; et Jacob alla vers elle.
Genesis 30:5 And Bilhah became with child, and gave birth to a son.	Genèse 30:5 Bilha devint enceinte, et enfanta un fils à Jacob.
Genesis 30:6 Then Rachel said, God has been my judge, and has given ear to my voice, and has given me a son; so he was named Dan.	Genèse 30:6 Rachel dit: Dieu m`a rendu justice, il a entendu ma voix, et il m`a donné un fils. C`est pourquoi elle l`appela du nom de Dan.
Genesis 30:7 And again Bilhah, Rachel's servant, was with child, and gave birth to a second son.	Genèse 30:7 Bilha, servante de Rachel, devint encore enceinte, et enfanta un second fils à Jacob.
Genesis 30:8 And Rachel said, I have had a great fight with my sister, and I have overcome her: and she gave the child the name Naphtali.	Genèse 30:8 Rachel dit: J`ai lutté divinement contre ma soeur, et j`ai vaincu. Et elle l`appela du nom de Nephthali.
Genesis 30:9 When it was clear to Leah that she would have no more children for a time, she gave Zilpah, her servant, to Jacob as a wife.	Genèse 30:9 Léa voyant qu`elle avait cessé d`enfanter, prit Zilpa, sa servante, et la donna pour femme à Jacob.
Genesis 30:10 And Zilpah, Leah's servant, gave birth to a son.	Genèse 30:10 Zilpa, servante de Léa, enfanta un fils à Jacob.
Genesis 30:11 And Leah said, It has gone well for me: and she gave him the name Gad.	Genèse 30:11 Léa dit: Quel bonheur! Et elle l`appela du nom de Gad.
Genesis 30:12 And Zilpah, Leah's servant, gave birth to a second son.	Genèse 30:12 Zilpa, servante de Léa, enfanta un second fils à Jacob.
Genesis 30:13 And Leah said, Happy am I! and all women will give witness to my joy: and she gave him the name Asher.	Genèse 30:13 Léa dit: Que je suis heureuse! car les filles me diront heureuse. Et elle l`appela du nom d`Aser.
Genesis 30:14 Now at the time of the grain-cutting, Reuben saw some love-fruits in the field, and took them to his mother Leah. And Rachel said to her, Let me have some of your son's love-fruits.	Genèse 30:14 Ruben sortit au temps de la moisson des blés, et trouva des mandragores dans les champs. Il les apporta à Léa, sa mère. Alors Rachel dit à Léa: Donne moi, je te prie, des mandragores de ton fils.
Genesis 30:15 But Leah said to her, Is it a small thing that you have taken my husband from me? and now would you take my son's love-fruits? Then Rachel said, You may have him tonight in exchange for your son's love-fruits.	Genèse 30:15 Elle lui répondit: Est-ce peu que tu aies pris mon mari, pour que tu prennes aussi les mandragores de mon fils? Et Rachel dit: Eh bien! il couchera avec toi cette nuit pour les mandragores de ton fils.
Genesis 30:16 In the evening, when Jacob came in from the field, Leah went out to him and said, Tonight you are to come to me, for I have given my son's love-fruits as a price for you. And he went in to her that night.	Genèse 30:16 Le soir, comme Jacob revenait des champs, Léa sortit à sa rencontre, et dit: C`est vers moi que tu viendras, car je t`ai acheté pour les mandragores de mon fils. Et il coucha avec elle cette nuit.
Genesis 30:17 And God gave ear to her and she became with child, and gave Jacob a fifth son.	Genèse 30:17 Dieu exauça Léa, qui devint enceinte, et enfanta un cinquième fils à Jacob.
Genesis 30:18 Then Leah said, God has made payment to me for giving my servant-girl to my husband: so she gave her son the name Issachar.	Genèse 30:18 Léa dit: Dieu m`a donné mon salaire parce que j`ai donné ma servante à mon mari. Et elle l`appela du nom d`Issacar.
Genesis 30:19 And again Leah became with child, and she gave Jacob a sixth son.	Genèse 30:19 Léa devint encore enceinte, et enfanta un sixième fils à Jacob.
Genesis 30:20 And she said, God has given me a good bride-price; now at last will I have my husband living with me, for I have given him six sons: and she gave him the name Zebulun.	Genèse 30:20 Léa dit: Dieu m`a fait un beau don; cette fois, mon mari habitera avec moi, car je lui ai enfanté six fils. Et elle l`appela du nom de Zabulon.
Genesis 30:21 After that she had a daughter, to whom she gave the name Dinah.	Genèse 30:21 Ensuite, elle enfanta une fille, qu`elle appela du nom de Dina.
Genesis 30:22 Then God gave thought to Rachel, and hearing her prayer he made her fertile.	Genèse 30:22 Dieu se souvint de Rachel, il l`exauça, et il la rendit féconde.
Genesis 30:23 And she was with child, and gave birth to a son: and she said, God has taken away my shame.	Genèse 30:23 Elle devint enceinte, et enfanta un fils, et elle dit: Dieu a enlevé mon opprobre.
Genesis 30:24 And she gave him the name Joseph, saying, May the Lord give me another son.	Genèse 30:24 Et elle lui donna le nom de Joseph, en disant: Que l`Éternel m`ajoute un autre fils!
Genesis 30:25 Now after the birth of Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, Let me go away to my place and my country.	Genèse 30:25 Lorsque Rachel eut enfanté Joseph, Jacob dit à Laban: Laisse-moi partir, pour que je m`en aille chez moi, dans mon pays.
Genesis 30:26 Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have been your servant, and let me go: for you have knowledge of all the work I have done for you.	Genèse 30:26 Donne-moi mes femmes et mes enfants, pour lesquels je t`ai servi, et je m`en irai; car tu sais quel service j`ai fait pour toi.
Genesis 30:27 And Laban said, If you will let me say so, do not go away; for I have seen by the signs that the Lord has been good to me because of you.	Genèse 30:27 Laban lui dit: Puissé-je trouver grâce à tes yeux! Je vois bien que l`Éternel m`a béni à cause de toi;
Genesis 30:28 Say then what your payment is to be and I will give it.	Genèse 30:28 fixe-moi ton salaire, et je te le donnerai.
Genesis 30:29 Then Jacob said, You have seen what I have done for you, and how your cattle have done well under my care.	Genèse 30:29 Jacob lui dit: Tu sais comment je t`ai servi, et ce qu`est devenu ton troupeau avec moi;
Genesis 30:30 For before I came you had little, and it has been greatly increased; and the Lord has given you a blessing in everything I have done; but when am I to do something for my family?	Genèse 30:30 car le peu que tu avais avant moi s`est beaucoup accru, et l`Éternel t`a béni sur mes pas. Maintenant, quand travaillerai-je aussi pour ma maison?
Genesis 30:31 And Laban said, What am I to give you? And Jacob said, Do not give me anything; but I will again take up the care of your flock if you will only do this for me:	Genèse 30:31 Laban dit: Que te donnerai-je? Et Jacob répondit: Tu ne me donneras rien. Si tu consens à ce que je vais te dire, je ferai paître encore ton troupeau, et je le garderai.
Genesis 30:32 Let me go through all your flock today, taking out from among them all the sheep which are marked or coloured or black, and all the marked or coloured goats: these will be my payment.	Genèse 30:32 Je parcourrai aujourd`hui tout ton troupeau; mets à part parmi les brebis tout agneau tacheté et marqueté et tout agneau noir, et parmi les chèvres tout ce qui est marqueté et tacheté. Ce sera mon salaire.
Genesis 30:33 And so you will be able to put my honour to the test in time to come; if you see among my flocks any goats which are not marked or coloured, or any sheep which is not black, you may take me for a thief.	Genèse 30:33 Ma droiture répondra pour moi demain, quand tu viendras voir mon salaire; tout ce qui ne sera pas tacheté et marqueté parmi les chèvres, et noir parmi les agneaux, ce sera de ma part un vol.
Genesis 30:34 And Laban said, Let it be as you say.	Genèse 30:34 Laban dit: Eh bien! qu`il en soit selon ta parole.
Genesis 30:35 So that day he took all the he-goats which were banded or coloured, and all the she-goats which were marked or coloured or had white marks, and all the black sheep, and gave them into the care of his sons;	Genèse 30:35 Ce même jour, il mit à part les boucs rayés et marquetés, toutes les chèvres tachetées et marquetées, toutes celles où il y avait du blanc, et tout ce qui était noir parmi les brebis. Il les remit entre les mains de ses fils.
Genesis 30:36 And sent them three days' journey away: and Jacob took care of the rest of Laban's flock.	Genèse 30:36 Puis il mit l`espace de trois journées de chemin entre lui et Jacob; et Jacob fit paître le reste du troupeau de Laban.
Genesis 30:37 Then Jacob took young branches of trees, cutting off the skin so that the white wood was seen in bands.	Genèse 30:37 Jacob prit des branches vertes de peuplier, d`amandier et de platane; il y pela des bandes blanches, mettant à nu le blanc qui était sur les branches.
Genesis 30:38 And he put the banded sticks in the drinking-places where the flock came to get water; and they became with young when they came to the water.	Genèse 30:38 Puis il plaça les branches, qu`il avait pelées, dans les auges, dans les abreuvoirs, sous les yeux des brebis qui venaient boire, pour qu`elles entrassent en chaleur en venant boire.
Genesis 30:39 And because of this, the flock gave birth to young which were marked with bands of colour.	Genèse 30:39 Les brebis entraient en chaleur près des branches, et elles faisaient des petits rayés, tachetés et marquetés.
Genesis 30:40 These lambs Jacob kept separate; and he put his flock in a place by themselves and not with Laban's flock.	Genèse 30:40 Jacob séparait les agneaux, et il mettait ensemble ce qui était rayé et tout ce qui était noir dans le troupeau de Laban. Il se fit ainsi des troupeaux à part, qu`il ne réunit point au troupeau de Laban.
Genesis 30:41 And whenever the stronger ones of the flock became with young, Jacob put the sticks in front of them in the drinking-places, so that they might become with young when they saw the sticks.	Genèse 30:41 Toutes les fois que les brebis vigoureuses entraient en chaleur, Jacob plaçait les branches dans les auges, sous les yeux des brebis, pour qu`elles entrassent en chaleur près des branches.
Genesis 30:42 But when the flocks were feeble, he did not put the sticks before them; so that the feebler flocks were Laban's and the stronger were Jacob's.	Genèse 30:42 Quand les brebis étaient chétives, il ne les plaçait point; de sorte que les chétives étaient pour Laban, et les vigoureuses pour Jacob.
Genesis 30:43 So Jacob's wealth was greatly increased; he had great flocks and women-servants and men-servants and camels and asses.	Genèse 30:43 Cet homme devint de plus en plus riche; il eut du menu bétail en abondance, des servantes et des serviteurs, des chameaux et des ânes.
