Jeremiah 2:1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,	Jérémie 2:1 La parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
Jeremiah 2:2 Go and say in the ears of Jerusalem, The Lord says, I still keep the memory of your kind heart when you were young, and your love when you became my bride; how you went after me in the waste of sand, in an unplanted land.	Jérémie 2:2 Va, et crie aux oreilles de Jérusalem: Ainsi parle l`Éternel: Je me souviens de ton amour lorsque tu étais jeune, De ton affection lorsque tu étais fiancée, Quand tu me suivais au désert, Dans une terre inculte.
Jeremiah 2:3 Israel was holy to the Lord, the first-fruits of his increase: all who made attacks on him were judged as wrongdoers, evil came on them, says the Lord.	Jérémie 2:3 Israël était consacré à l`Éternel, Il était les prémices de son revenu; Tous ceux qui en mangeaient se rendaient coupables, Et le malheur fondait sur eux, dit l`Éternel.
Jeremiah 2:4 Give ear to the words of the Lord, O sons of Jacob and all the families of Israel:	Jérémie 2:4 Écoutez la parole de l`Éternel, maison de Jacob, Et vous toutes, familles de la maison d`Israël!
Jeremiah 2:5 These are the words of the Lord: What evil have your fathers seen in me that they have gone far from me, and, walking after what is false, have become false?	Jérémie 2:5 Ainsi parle l`Éternel: Quelle iniquité vos pères ont-ils trouvée en moi, Pour s`éloigner de moi, Et pour aller après des choses de néant et n`être eux-mêmes que néant?
Jeremiah 2:6 And they never said, Where is the Lord, who took us up out of the land of Egypt; who was our guide through the waste of sand, through an unplanted land full of deep holes, through a dry land of deep shade, which no one went through and where no man was living?	Jérémie 2:6 Ils n`ont pas dit: Où est l`Éternel, Qui nous a fait monter du pays d`Égypte, Qui nous a conduits dans le désert, Dans une terre aride et pleine de fosses, Dans une terre où règnent la sécheresse et l`ombre de la mort, Dans une terre par où personne ne passe, Et où n`habite aucun homme?
Jeremiah 2:7 And I took you into a fertile land, where you were living on its fruit and its wealth; but when you came in, you made my land unclean, and made my heritage a disgusting thing.	Jérémie 2:7 Je vous ai fait venir dans un pays semblable à un verger, Pour que vous en mangiez les fruits et les meilleures productions; Mais vous êtes venus, et vous avez souillé mon pays, Et vous avez fait de mon héritage une abomination.
Jeremiah 2:8 The priests did not say, Where is the Lord? and those who were expert in the law had no knowledge of me: and the rulers did evil against me, and the prophets became prophets of the Baal, going after things without value.	Jérémie 2:8 Les sacrificateurs n`ont pas dit: Où est l`Éternel? Les dépositaires de la loi ne m`ont pas connu, Les pasteurs m`ont été infidèles, Les prophètes ont prophétisé par Baal, Et sont allés après ceux qui ne sont d`aucun secours.
Jeremiah 2:9 For this reason, I will again put forward my cause against you, says the Lord, even against you and against your children's children.	Jérémie 2:9 C`est pourquoi je veux encore contester avec vous, dit l`Éternel, Je veux contester avec les enfants de vos enfants.
Jeremiah 2:10 For go over to the sea-lands of Kittim and see; send to Kedar and give deep thought to it; and see if there has ever been such a thing.	Jérémie 2:10 Passez aux îles de Kittim, et regardez! Envoyez quelqu`un à Kédar, observez bien, Et regardez s`il y a rien de semblable!
Jeremiah 2:11 Has any nation ever made a change in their gods, though they are no gods? but my people have given up their glory in exchange for what is of no profit.	Jérémie 2:11 Y a-t-il une nation qui change ses dieux, Quoiqu`ils ne soient pas des Dieux? Et mon peuple a changé sa gloire contre ce qui n`est d`aucun secours!
Jeremiah 2:12 Be full of wonder, O heavens, at this; be overcome with fear, be completely waste, says the Lord.	Jérémie 2:12 Cieux, soyez étonnés de cela; Frémissez d`épouvante et d`horreur! dit l`Éternel.
Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have done two evils; they have given up me, the fountain of living waters, and have made for themselves water-holes, cut out from the rock, broken water-holes, of no use for storing water.	Jérémie 2:13 Car mon peuple a commis un double péché: Ils m`ont abandonné, moi qui suis une source d`eau vive, Pour se creuser des citernes, des citernes crevassées, Qui ne retiennent pas l`eau.
Jeremiah 2:14 Is Israel a servant? has he been a house-servant from birth? why has he been made waste?	Jérémie 2:14 Israël est-il un esclave acheté, ou né dans la maison? Pourquoi donc devient-il une proie?
Jeremiah 2:15 The young lions have made an outcry against him with a loud voice: they have made his land waste; his towns are burned up, with no one living in them.	Jérémie 2:15 Contre lui les lionceaux rugissent, poussent leurs cris, Et ils ravagent son pays; Ses villes sont brûlées, il n`y a plus d`habitants.
Jeremiah 2:16 Even the children of Noph and Tahpanhes have put shame on you.	Jérémie 2:16 Même les enfants de Noph et de Tachpanès Te briseront le sommet de la tête.
Jeremiah 2:17 Has not this come on you because you have given up the Lord your God, who was your guide by the way?	Jérémie 2:17 Cela ne t`arrive-t-il pas Parce que tu as abandonné l`Éternel, ton Dieu, Lorsqu`il te dirigeait dans la bonne voie?
Jeremiah 2:18 And now, what have you to do on the way to Egypt, to get your drink from the waters of the Nile? or what have you to do on the way to Assyria, to get your drink from the waters of the River?	Jérémie 2:18 Et maintenant, qu`as-tu à faire d`aller en Égypte, Pour boire l`eau du Nil? Qu`as-tu à faire d`aller en Assyrie, Pour boire l`eau du fleuve?
Jeremiah 2:19 The evil you yourselves have done will be your punishment, your errors will be your judge: be certain then, and see that it is an evil and a bitter thing to give up the Lord your God, and no longer to be moved by fear of me, says the Lord, the Lord of armies.	Jérémie 2:19 Ta méchanceté te châtiera, et ton infidélité te punira, Tu sauras et tu verras que c`est une chose mauvaise et amère D`abandonner l`Éternel, ton Dieu, Et de n`avoir de moi aucune crainte, Dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel des armées.
Jeremiah 2:20 For in the past, your yoke was broken by your hands and your cords parted; and you said, I will not be your servant; for on every high hill and under every branching tree, your behaviour was like that of a loose woman	Jérémie 2:20 Tu as dès longtemps brisé ton joug, Rompu tes liens, Et tu as dit: Je ne veux plus être dans la servitude! Mais sur toute colline élevée Et sous tout arbre vert Tu t`es courbée comme une prostituée.
Jeremiah 2:21 But when you were planted by me, you were a noble vine, in every way a true seed: how then have you been changed into the branching plant of a strange vine?	Jérémie 2:21 Je t`avais plantée comme une vigne excellente Et du meilleur plant; Comment as-tu changé, Dégénéré en une vigne étrangère?
Jeremiah 2:22 For even if you are washed with soda and take much soap, still your evil-doing is marked before me, says the Lord God.	Jérémie 2:22 Quand tu te laverais avec du nitre, Quand tu emploierais beaucoup de potasse, Ton iniquité resterait marquée devant moi, Dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel.
Jeremiah 2:23 How are you able to say, I am not unclean, I have not gone after the Baals? see your way in the valley, be clear about what you have done: you are a quick-footed camel twisting her way in and out;	Jérémie 2:23 Comment dirais-tu: Je ne me suis point souillée, Je ne suis point allée après les Baals? Regarde tes pas dans la vallée, Reconnais ce que tu as fait, Dromadaire à la course légère et vagabonde!
Jeremiah 2:24 An untrained ass, used to the waste land, breathing up the wind in her desire; at her time, who is able to send her away? all those who are looking for her will have no need to make themselves tired; in her month they will get her.	Jérémie 2:24 Anesse sauvage, habituée au désert, Haletante dans l`ardeur de sa passion, Qui l`empêchera de satisfaire son désir? Tous ceux qui la cherchent n`ont pas à se fatiguer; Ils la trouvent pendant son mois.
Jeremiah 2:25 Do not let your foot be without shoes, or your throat dry from need of water: but you said, There is no hope: no, for I have been a lover of strange gods, and after them I will go.	Jérémie 2:25 Ne t`expose pas à avoir les pieds nus, Ne dessèche pas ton gosier! Mais tu dis: C`est en vain, non! Car j`aime les dieux étrangers, je veux aller après eux.
Jeremiah 2:26 As the thief is shamed when he is taken, so is Israel shamed; they, their kings and their rulers, their priests and their prophets;	Jérémie 2:26 Comme un voleur est confus lorsqu`il est surpris, Ainsi seront confus ceux de la maison d`Israël, Eux, leurs rois, leurs chefs, Leurs sacrificateurs et leurs prophètes.
Jeremiah 2:27 Who say to a tree, You are my father; and to a stone, You have given me life: for their backs have been turned to me, not their faces: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Up! and be our saviour.	Jérémie 2:27 Ils disent au bois: Tu es mon père! Et à la pierre: Tu m`as donné la vie! Car ils me tournent le dos, ils ne me regardent pas. Et quand ils sont dans le malheur, ils disent: Lève-toi, sauve-nous!
Jeremiah 2:28 But where are the gods you have made for yourselves? let them come, if they are able to give you salvation in the time of your trouble: for the number of your gods is as the number of your towns, O Judah.	Jérémie 2:28 Où donc sont tes dieux que tu t`es faits? Qu`ils se lèvent, s`ils peuvent te sauver au temps du malheur! Car tu as autant de dieux que de villes, ô Juda!
Jeremiah 2:29 Why will you put forward your cause against me? You have all done evil against me, says the Lord.	Jérémie 2:29 Pourquoi contesteriez-vous avec moi? Vous m`avez tous été infidèles, dit l`Éternel.
Jeremiah 2:30 I gave your children blows to no purpose; they got no good from training: your sword has been the destruction of your prophets, like a death-giving lion.	Jérémie 2:30 En vain ai-je frappé vos enfants; Ils n`ont point eu égard à la correction; Votre glaive a dévoré vos prophètes, Comme un lion destructeur.
Jeremiah 2:31 O generation, see the word of the Lord. Have I been a waste land to Israel? or a land of dark night? why do my people say, We have got loose, we will not come to you again?	Jérémie 2:31 Hommes de cette génération, considérez la parole de l`Éternel! Ai-je été pour Israël un désert, Ou un pays d`épaisses ténèbres? Pourquoi mon peuple dit-il: Nous sommes libres, Nous ne voulons pas retourner à toi?
Jeremiah 2:32 Is it possible for a virgin to put out of her memory her ornaments, or a bride her robes? but my people have put me out of their memories for unnumbered days.	Jérémie 2:32 La jeune fille oublie-t-elle ses ornements, La fiancée sa ceinture? Et mon peuple m`a oublié Depuis des jours sans nombre.
Jeremiah 2:33 With what care are your ways ordered when you are looking for love! so ... your ways.	Jérémie 2:33 Comme tu es habile dans tes voies pour chercher ce que tu aimes! C`est même au crime que tu les exerces.
Jeremiah 2:34 And in the skirts of your robe may be seen the life-blood of those who have done no wrong: ...	Jérémie 2:34 Jusque sur les pans de ton habit se trouve Le sang de pauvres innocents, Que tu n`as pas surpris faisant effraction.
Jeremiah 2:35 And still you said, I have done no wrong; truly, his wrath is turned away from me. See, I will take up the cause against you, because you say, I have done no wrong.	Jérémie 2:35 Malgré cela, tu dis: Oui, je suis innocente! Certainement sa colère s`est détournée de moi! Voici, je vais contester avec toi, Parce que tu dis: Je n`ai point péché.
Jeremiah 2:36 Why do you go about so much for the purpose of changing your way? you will be shamed on account of Egypt, as you were shamed on account of Assyria.	Jérémie 2:36 Pourquoi tant d`empressement à changer ton chemin? C`est de l`Égypte que viendra ta honte, Comme elle est venue de l`Assyrie.
Jeremiah 2:37 Truly, you will go out from him with your hands on your head: for the Lord has given up those in whom you have put your faith, and they will be of no help to you.	Jérémie 2:37 De là aussi tu sortiras, les mains sur la tête; Car l`Éternel rejette ceux en qui tu te confies, Et tu ne réussiras pas auprès d`eux.
