Jeremiah 37:1 And Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, became king in place of Coniah, the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, made king in the land of Judah.	Jérémie 37:1 Sédécias, fils de Josias, régna à la place de Jeconia, fils de Jojakim, et fut établi roi dans le pays de Juda par Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone.
Jeremiah 37:2 But he and his servants and the people of the land did not give ear to the words of the Lord which he said by Jeremiah the prophet.	Jérémie 37:2 Ni lui, ni ses serviteurs, ni le peuple du pays, n`écoutèrent les paroles que l`Éternel prononça par Jérémie, le prophète.
Jeremiah 37:3 And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal, the son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Make prayer now to the Lord our God for us.	Jérémie 37:3 Le roi Sédécias envoya Jucal, fils de Schélémia, et Sophonie, fils de Maaséja, le sacrificateur, vers Jérémie, le prophète, pour lui dire: Intercède en notre faveur auprès de l`Éternel, notre Dieu.
Jeremiah 37:4 (Now Jeremiah was going about among the people, for they had not put him in prison.	Jérémie 37:4 Or Jérémie allait et venait parmi le peuple; on ne l`avait pas encore mis en prison.
Jeremiah 37:5 And Pharaoh's army had come out from Egypt: and the Chaldaeans, who were attacking Jerusalem, hearing news of them, went away from Jerusalem.)	Jérémie 37:5 L`armée de Pharaon était sortie d`Égypte; et les Chaldéens, qui assiégeaient Jérusalem, ayant appris cette nouvelle, s`étaient retirés de Jérusalem.
Jeremiah 37:6 Then the word of the Lord came to the prophet Jeremiah, saying,	Jérémie 37:6 Alors la parole de l`Éternel fut adressée à Jérémie, le prophète, en ces mots:
Jeremiah 37:7 The Lord, the God of Israel, has said: This is what you are to say to the king of Judah who sent you to get directions from me: See, Pharaoh's army, which has come out to your help, will go back to Egypt, to their land.	Jérémie 37:7 Ainsi parle l`Éternel, le Dieu d`Israël: Vous direz au roi de Juda, qui vous a envoyés vers moi pour me consulter: Voici, l`armée de Pharaon, qui était en marche pour vous secourir, retourne dans son pays, en Égypte;
Jeremiah 37:8 And the Chaldaeans will come back again and make war against this town and they will take it and put it on fire.	Jérémie 37:8 et les Chaldéens reviendront, ils attaqueront cette ville, ils la prendront, et la brûleront par le feu.
Jeremiah 37:9 The Lord has said, Have no false hopes, saying to yourselves, The Chaldaeans will go away from us: for they will not go away.	Jérémie 37:9 Ainsi parle l`Éternel: Ne vous faites pas d`illusion, en disant: Les Chaldéens s`en iront loin de nous! Car ils ne s`en iront pas.
Jeremiah 37:10 For even if you had overcome all the army of the Chaldaeans fighting against you, and there were only wounded men among them, still they would get up, every man in his tent, and put this town on fire.	Jérémie 37:10 Et même quand vous battriez toute l`armée des Chaldéens qui vous font la guerre, quand il ne resterait d`eux que des hommes blessés, ils se relèveraient chacun dans sa tente, et brûleraient cette ville par le feu.
Jeremiah 37:11 And it came about that when the Chaldaean army outside Jerusalem had gone away for fear of Pharaoh's army,	Jérémie 37:11 Pendant que l`armée des Chaldéens s`était éloignée de Jérusalem, à cause de l`armée de Pharaon,
Jeremiah 37:12 Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, with the purpose of taking up his heritage there among the people.	Jérémie 37:12 Jérémie voulut sortir de Jérusalem, pour aller dans le pays de Benjamin et s`échapper du milieu du peuple.
Jeremiah 37:13 But when he was at the Benjamin door, a captain of the watch named Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah, who was stationed there, put his hand on Jeremiah the prophet, saying, You are going to give yourself up to the Chaldaeans.	Jérémie 37:13 Lorsqu`il fut à la porte de Benjamin, le commandant de la garde, nommé Jireija, fils de Schélémia, fils de Hanania, se trouvait là, et il saisit Jérémie, le prophète, en disant: Tu passes aux Chaldéens!
Jeremiah 37:14 Then Jeremiah said, That is not true; I am not going to the Chaldaeans. But he would not give ear to him: so Irijah made him prisoner and took him to the rulers.	Jérémie 37:14 Jérémie répondit: C`est faux! je ne passe pas aux Chaldéens. Mais Jireija ne l`écouta point; il arrêta Jérémie, et le conduisit devant les chefs.
Jeremiah 37:15 And the rulers were angry with Jeremiah, and gave him blows and put him in prison in the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made that the prison.	Jérémie 37:15 Les chefs, irrités contre Jérémie, le frappèrent, et le mirent en prison dans la maison de Jonathan, le secrétaire; car ils en avaient fait une prison.
Jeremiah 37:16 So Jeremiah came into the hole of the prison, under the arches, and was there for a long time.	Jérémie 37:16 Ce fut ainsi que Jérémie entra dans la prison et dans les cachots, où il resta longtemps.
Jeremiah 37:17 Then King Zedekiah sent and got him out: and the king, questioning him secretly in his house, said, Is there any word from the Lord? And Jeremiah said, There is. Then he said, You will be given up into the hands of the king of Babylon.	Jérémie 37:17 Le roi Sédécias l`envoya chercher, et l`interrogea secrètement dans sa maison. Il dit: Y a-t-il une parole de la part de l`Éternel? Jérémie répondit: Oui. Et il ajouta: Tu seras livré entre les mains du roi de Babylone.
Jeremiah 37:18 Then Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, What has been my sin against you or against your servants or against this people, that you have put me in prison?	Jérémie 37:18 Jérémie dit encore au roi Sédécias: En quoi ai-je péché contre toi, contre tes serviteurs, et contre ce peuple, pour que vous m`ayez mis en prison?
Jeremiah 37:19 Where now are your prophets who said to you, The king of Babylon will not come against you and against this land?	Jérémie 37:19 Et où sont vos prophètes qui vous prophétisaient, en disant: Le roi de Babylone ne viendra pas contre vous, ni contre ce pays?
Jeremiah 37:20 And now be pleased to give ear, O my lord the king; let my prayer for help come before you, and do not make me go back to the house of Jonathan the scribe, for fear that I may come to my death there.	Jérémie 37:20 Maintenant, écoute, je te prie, ô roi, mon seigneur, et que mes supplications soient favorablement reçues devant toi! Ne me renvoie pas dans la maison de Jonathan, le secrétaire, de peur que je n`y meure!
Jeremiah 37:21 Then by the order of Zedekiah the king, Jeremiah was put into the place of the armed watchmen, and they gave him every day a cake of bread from the street of the bread-makers, till all the bread in the town was used up. So Jeremiah was kept in the place of the armed watchmen.	Jérémie 37:21 Le roi Sédécias ordonna qu`on gardât Jérémie dans la cour de la prison, et qu`on lui donnât chaque jour un pain de la rue des boulangers, jusqu`à ce que tout le pain de la ville fût consommé. Ainsi Jérémie demeura dans la cour de la prison.
