Jeremiah 5:1 Go quickly through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and get knowledge, and make a search in her wide places if there is a man, if there is one in her who is upright, who keeps faith; and she will have my forgiveness.	Jérémie 5:1 Parcourez les rues de Jérusalem, Regardez, informez-vous, cherchez dans les places, S`il s`y trouve un homme, s`il y en a un Qui pratique la justice, qui s`attache à la vérité, Et je pardonne à Jérusalem.
Jeremiah 5:2 And though they say, By the living Lord; truly their oaths are false.	Jérémie 5:2 Même quand ils disent: L`Éternel est vivant! C`est faussement qu`ils jurent.
Jeremiah 5:3 O Lord, do not your eyes see good faith? you have given them punishment, but they were not troubled; you have sent destruction on them, but they did not take your teaching to heart: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they would not come back.	Jérémie 5:3 Éternel, tes yeux n`aperçoivent-ils pas la vérité? Tu les frappes, et ils ne sentent rien; Tu les consumes, et ils ne veulent pas recevoir instruction; Ils prennent un visage plus dur que le roc, Ils refusent de se convertir.
Jeremiah 5:4 Then I said, But these are the poor: they are foolish, for they have no knowledge of the way of the Lord or of the behaviour desired by their God.	Jérémie 5:4 Je disais: Ce ne sont que les petits; Ils agissent en insensés, parce qu`ils ne connaissent pas la voie de l`Éternel, La loi de leur Dieu.
Jeremiah 5:5 I will go to the great men and have talk with them; for they have knowledge of the way of the Lord and of the behaviour desired by their God. But as for these, their one purpose is a broken yoke and burst bands.	Jérémie 5:5 J`irai vers les grands, et je leur parlerai; Car eux, ils connaissent la voie de l`Éternel, La loi de leur Dieu; Mais ils ont tous aussi brisé le joug, Rompu les liens.
Jeremiah 5:6 And so a lion from the woods will put them to death, a wolf of the waste land will make them waste, a leopard will keep watch on their towns, and everyone who goes out from them will be food for the beasts; because of the great number of their sins and the increase of their wrongdoing.	Jérémie 5:6 C`est pourquoi le lion de la forêt les tue, Le loup du désert les détruit, La panthère est aux aguets devant leurs villes; Tous ceux qui en sortiront seront déchirés; Car leurs transgressions sont nombreuses, Leurs infidélités se sont multipliées.
Jeremiah 5:7 How is it possible for you to have my forgiveness for this? your children have given me up, taking their oaths by those who are no gods: when I had given them food in full measure, they were false to their wives, taking their pleasure in the houses of loose women.	Jérémie 5:7 Pourquoi te pardonnerais-je? Tes enfants m`ont abandonné, Et ils jurent par des dieux qui n`existent pas. J`ai reçu leurs serments, et ils se livrent à l`adultère, Ils sont en foule dans la maison de la prostituée.
Jeremiah 5:8 They were full of desire, like horses after a meal of grain: everyone went after his neighbour's wife.	Jérémie 5:8 Semblables à des chevaux bien nourris, qui courent çà et là, Ils hennissent chacun après la femme de son prochain.
Jeremiah 5:9 Am I not to give punishment for these things? says the Lord: will not my soul take payment from such a nation as this?	Jérémie 5:9 Ne châtierais-je pas ces choses-là, dit l`Éternel, Ne me vengerais-je pas d`une pareille nation?
Jeremiah 5:10 Go up against her vines and make waste; let the destruction be complete: take away her branches, for they are not the Lord's.	Jérémie 5:10 Montez sur ses murailles, et abattez, Mais ne détruisez pas entièrement! Enlevez ses ceps Qui n`appartiennent point à l`Éternel!
Jeremiah 5:11 For the people of Israel and the people of Judah have been very false to me, says the Lord.	Jérémie 5:11 Car la maison d`Israël et la maison de Juda m`ont été infidèles, Dit l`Éternel.
Jeremiah 5:12 They would have nothing to do with the Lord, saying, He will do nothing, and no evil will come to us; we will not see the sword or be short of food:	Jérémie 5:12 Ils renient l`Éternel, ils disent: Il n`existe pas! Et le malheur ne viendra pas sur nous, Nous ne verrons ni l`épée ni la famine.
Jeremiah 5:13 And the prophets will become wind, and the word is not in them; so it will be done to them.	Jérémie 5:13 Les prophètes ne sont que du vent, Et personne ne parle en eux. Qu`il leur soit fait ainsi!
Jeremiah 5:14 For this reason the Lord, the God of armies, has said: Because you have said this, I will make my words in your mouth a fire, and this people wood, and they will be burned up by it.	Jérémie 5:14 C`est pourquoi ainsi parle l`Éternel, le Dieu des armées: Parce que vous avez dit cela, Voici, je veux que ma parole dans ta bouche soit du feu, Et ce peuple du bois, et que ce feu les consume.
Jeremiah 5:15 See, I will send you a nation from far away, O people of Israel, says the Lord; a strong nation and an old nation, a nation whose language is strange to you, so that you may not get the sense of their words.	Jérémie 5:15 Voici, je fais venir de loin une nation contre vous, maison d`Israël, Dit l`Éternel; C`est une nation forte, c`est une nation ancienne, Une nation dont tu ne connais pas la langue, Et dont tu ne comprendras point les paroles.
Jeremiah 5:16 Their arrows give certain death, they are all men of war.	Jérémie 5:16 Son carquois est comme un sépulcre ouvert; Ils sont tous des héros.
Jeremiah 5:17 They will take all the produce of your fields, which would have been food for your sons and your daughters: they will take your flocks and your herds: they will take all your vines and your fig-trees: and with the sword they will make waste your walled towns in which you put your faith.	Jérémie 5:17 Elle dévorera ta moisson et ton pain, Elle dévorera tes fils et tes filles, Elle dévorera tes brebis et tes boeufs, Elle dévorera ta vigne et ton figuier; Elle détruira par l`épée tes villes fortes dans lesquelles tu te confies.
Jeremiah 5:18 But even in those days, says the Lord, I will not let your destruction be complete.	Jérémie 5:18 Mais en ces jours, dit l`Éternel, Je ne vous détruirai pas entièrement.
Jeremiah 5:19 And it will come about, when you say, Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us? that you will say to them, As you gave me up, making yourselves servants to strange gods in your land, so will you be servants to strange men in a land which is not yours.	Jérémie 5:19 Si vous dites alors: Pourquoi l`Éternel, notre Dieu, nous fait-il tout cela? Tu leur répondras: Comme vous m`avez abandonné, Et que vous avez servi des dieux étrangers dans votre pays, Ainsi vous servirez des étrangers dans un pays qui n`est pas le vôtre.
Jeremiah 5:20 Say this openly in Jacob and give it out in Judah, saying,	Jérémie 5:20 Annoncez ceci à la maison de Jacob, Publiez-le en Juda, et dites:
Jeremiah 5:21 Give ear now to this, O foolish people without sense; who have eyes but see nothing, and ears without the power of hearing:	Jérémie 5:21 Écoutez ceci, peuple insensé, et qui n`a point de coeur! Ils ont des yeux et ne voient point, Ils ont des oreilles et n`entendent point.
Jeremiah 5:22 Have you no fear of me? says the Lord; will you not be shaking with fear before me, who have put the sand as a limit for the sea, by an eternal order, so that it may not go past it? and though it is ever in motion, it is not able to have its way; though the sound of its waves is loud, they are not able to go past it.	Jérémie 5:22 Ne me craindrez-vous pas, dit l`Éternel, Ne tremblerez-vous pas devant moi? C`est moi qui ai donné à la mer le sable pour limite, Limite éternelle qu`elle ne doit pas franchir; Ses flots s`agitent, mais ils sont impuissants; Ils mugissent, mais ils ne la franchissent pas.
Jeremiah 5:23 But the heart of this people is uncontrolled and turned away from me; they are broken loose and gone.	Jérémie 5:23 Ce peuple a un coeur indocile et rebelle; Ils se révoltent, et s`en vont.
Jeremiah 5:24 And they do not say in their hearts, Now let us give worship to our God, who gives the rain, the winter and the spring rain, at the right time; who keeps for us the ordered weeks of the grain-cutting.	Jérémie 5:24 Ils ne disent pas dans leur coeur: Craignons l`Éternel, notre Dieu, Qui donne la pluie en son temps, La pluie de la première et de l`arrière saison, Et qui nous réserve les semaines destinées à la moisson.
Jeremiah 5:25 Through your evil-doing these things have been turned away, and your sins have kept back good from you.	Jérémie 5:25 C`est à cause de vos iniquités que ces dispensations n`ont pas lieu, Ce sont vos péchés qui vous privent de ces biens.
Jeremiah 5:26 For there are sinners among my people: they keep watch, like men watching for birds; they put a net and take men in it.	Jérémie 5:26 Car il se trouve parmi mon peuple des méchants; Ils épient comme l`oiseleur qui dresse des pièges, Ils tendent des filets, et prennent des hommes.
Jeremiah 5:27 As the fowl-house is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: for this reason they have become great and have got wealth.	Jérémie 5:27 Comme une cage est remplie d`oiseaux, Leurs maisons sont remplies de fraude; C`est ainsi qu`ils deviennent puissants et riches.
Jeremiah 5:28 They have become fat and strong: they have gone far in works of evil: they give no support to the cause of the child without a father, so that they may do well; they do not see that the poor man gets his rights.	Jérémie 5:28 Ils s`engraissent, ils sont brillants d`embonpoint; Ils dépassent toute mesure dans le mal, Ils ne défendent pas la cause, la cause de l`orphelin, et ils prospèrent; Ils ne font pas droit aux indigents.
Jeremiah 5:29 Am I not to give punishment for these things? says the Lord: will not my soul take payment from such a nation as this?	Jérémie 5:29 Ne châtierais-je pas ces choses-là, dit l`Éternel, Ne me vengerais-je pas d`une pareille nation?
Jeremiah 5:30 A thing of wonder and fear has come about in the land;	Jérémie 5:30 Des choses horribles, abominables, Se font dans le pays.
Jeremiah 5:31 The prophets give false words and the priests give decisions by their direction; and my people are glad to have it so: and what will you do in the end?	Jérémie 5:31 Les prophètes prophétisent avec fausseté, Les sacrificateurs dominent sous leur conduite, Et mon peuple prend plaisir à cela. Que ferez-vous à la fin?
