Matthew 16:1 And the Pharisees and Sadducees came and, testing him, made a request to him to give them a sign from heaven.	Matthieu 16:1 Les pharisiens et les sadducéens abordèrent Jésus et, pour l`éprouver, lui demandèrent de leur faire voir un signe venant du ciel.
Matthew 16:2 But in answer he said to them, At nightfall you say, The weather will be good, for the sky is red.	Matthieu 16:2 Jésus leur répondit: Le soir, vous dites: Il fera beau, car le ciel est rouge; et le matin:
Matthew 16:3 And in the morning, The weather will be bad today, for the sky is red and angry. You are able to see the face of heaven, but not the signs of the times.	Matthieu 16:3 Il y aura de l`orage aujourd`hui, car le ciel est d`un rouge sombre. Vous savez discerner l`aspect du ciel, et vous ne pouvez discerner les signes des temps.
Matthew 16:4 An evil and false generation is searching after a sign; and no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah. And he went away from them.	Matthieu 16:4 Une génération méchante et adultère demande un miracle; il ne lui sera donné d`autre miracle que celui de Jonas. Puis il les quitta, et s`en alla.
Matthew 16:5 And when the disciples came to the other side they had not taken thought to get bread.	Matthieu 16:5 Les disciples, en passant à l`autre bord, avaient oublié de prendre des pains.
Matthew 16:6 And Jesus said to them, Take care to have nothing to do with the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.	Matthieu 16:6 Jésus leur dit: Gardez-vous avec soin du levain des pharisiens et des sadducéens.
Matthew 16:7 And they were reasoning among themselves, saying, We took no bread.	Matthieu 16:7 Les disciples raisonnaient en eux-mêmes, et disaient: C`est parce que nous n`avons pas pris de pains.
Matthew 16:8 And Jesus, seeing it, said, O you of little faith, why are you reasoning among yourselves, because you have no bread?	Matthieu 16:8 Jésus, l`ayant connu, dit: Pourquoi raisonnez-vous en vous-mêmes, gens de peu de foi, sur ce que vous n`avez pas pris de pains?
Matthew 16:9 Do you still not see, or keep in mind the five cakes of bread of the five thousand, and the number of baskets you took up?	Matthieu 16:9 Etes-vous encore sans intelligence, et ne vous rappelez-vous plus les cinq pains des cinq mille hommes et combien de paniers vous avez emportés,
Matthew 16:10 Or the seven cakes of bread of the four thousand, and the number of baskets you took up?	Matthieu 16:10 ni les sept pains des quatre mille hommes et combien de corbeilles vous avez emportées?
Matthew 16:11 How is it that you do not see that I was not talking to you about bread, but about keeping away from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?	Matthieu 16:11 Comment ne comprenez-vous pas que ce n`est pas au sujet de pains que je vous ai parlé? Gardez-vous du levain des pharisiens et des sadducéens.
Matthew 16:12 Then they saw that it was not the leaven of bread which he had in mind, but the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.	Matthieu 16:12 Alors ils comprirent que ce n`était pas du levain du pain qu`il avait dit de se garder, mais de l`enseignement des pharisiens et des sadducéens.
Matthew 16:13 Now when Jesus had come into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he said, questioning his disciples, Who do men say that the Son of man is?	Matthieu 16:13 Jésus, étant arrivé dans le territoire de Césarée de Philippe, demanda à ses disciples: Qui dit-on que je suis, moi, le Fils de l`homme?
Matthew 16:14 And they said, Some say, John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.	Matthieu 16:14 Ils répondirent: Les uns disent que tu es Jean Baptiste; les autres, Élie; les autres, Jérémie, ou l`un des prophètes.
Matthew 16:15 He says to them, But who do you say that I am?	Matthieu 16:15 Et vous, leur dit-il, qui dites-vous que je suis?
Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter made answer and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.	Matthieu 16:16 Simon Pierre répondit: Tu es le Christ, le Fils du Dieu vivant.
Matthew 16:17 And Jesus made answer and said to him, A blessing on you, Simon Bar-jonah: because this knowledge has not come to you from flesh and blood, but from my Father in heaven.	Matthieu 16:17 Jésus, reprenant la parole, lui dit: Tu es heureux, Simon, fils de Jonas; car ce ne sont pas la chair et le sang qui t`ont révélé cela, mais c`est mon Père qui est dans les cieux.
Matthew 16:18 And I say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock will my church be based, and the doors of hell will not overcome it.	Matthieu 16:18 Et moi, je te dis que tu es Pierre, et que sur cette pierre je bâtirai mon Église, et que les portes du séjour des morts ne prévaudront point contre elle.
Matthew 16:19 I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever is fixed by you on earth will be fixed in heaven: and whatever you make free on earth will be made free in heaven.	Matthieu 16:19 Je te donnerai les clefs du royaume des cieux: ce que tu lieras sur la terre sera lié dans les cieux, et ce que tu délieras sur la terre sera délié dans les cieux.
Matthew 16:20 Then he gave orders to the disciples to give no man word that he was the Christ.	Matthieu 16:20 Alors il recommanda aux disciples de ne dire à personne qu`il était le Christ.
Matthew 16:21 From that time Jesus went on to make clear to his disciples how he would have to go up to Jerusalem, and undergo much at the hands of those in authority and the chief priests and scribes, and be put to death, and the third day come again from the dead.	Matthieu 16:21 Dès lors Jésus commença à faire connaître à ses disciples qu`il fallait qu`il allât à Jérusalem, qu`il souffrît beaucoup de la part des anciens, des principaux sacrificateurs et des scribes, qu`il fût mis à mort, et qu`il ressuscitât le troisième jour.
Matthew 16:22 And Peter, protesting, said to him, Be it far from you, Lord; it is impossible that this will come about.	Matthieu 16:22 Pierre, l`ayant pris à part, se mit à le reprendre, et dit: A Dieu ne plaise, Seigneur! Cela ne t`arrivera pas.
Matthew 16:23 But he, turning to Peter, said, Get out of my way, Satan: you are a danger to me because your mind is not on the things of God, but on the things of men.	Matthieu 16:23 Mais Jésus, se retournant, dit à Pierre: Arrière de moi, Satan! tu m`es en scandale; car tes pensées ne sont pas les pensées de Dieu, mais celles des hommes.
Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him give up all, and take up his cross, and come after me.	Matthieu 16:24 Alors Jésus dit à ses disciples: Si quelqu`un veut venir après moi, qu`il renonce à lui-même, qu`il se charge de sa croix, et qu`il me suive.
Matthew 16:25 Because whoever has a desire to keep his life safe will have it taken from him; but whoever gives up his life because of me, will have it given back to him.	Matthieu 16:25 Car celui qui voudra sauver sa vie la perdra, mais celui qui la perdra à cause de moi la trouvera.
Matthew 16:26 For what profit has a man, if he gets all the world with the loss of his life? or what will a man give in exchange for his life?	Matthieu 16:26 Et que servirait-il à un homme de gagner tout le monde, s`il perdait son âme? ou, que donnerait un homme en échange de son âme?
Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he will give to every man the reward of his works.	Matthieu 16:27 Car le Fils de l`homme doit venir dans la gloire de son Père, avec ses anges; et alors il rendra à chacun selon ses oeuvres.
Matthew 16:28 Truly I say to you, There are some of those here who will not have a taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.	Matthieu 16:28 Je vous le dis en vérité, quelques-uns de ceux qui sont ici ne mourront point, qu`ils n`aient vu le Fils de l`homme venir dans son règne.
