Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was sent by the Spirit into the waste land to be tested by the Evil One.	Matthieu 4:1 Alors Jésus fut emmené par l`Esprit dans le désert, pour être tenté par le diable.
Matthew 4:2 And after going without food for forty days and forty nights, he was in need of it.	Matthieu 4:2 Après avoir jeûné quarante jours et quarante nuits, il eut faim.
Matthew 4:3 And the Evil One came and said to him, If you are the Son of God, give the word for these stones to become bread.	Matthieu 4:3 Le tentateur, s`étant approché, lui dit: Si tu es Fils de Dieu, ordonne que ces pierres deviennent des pains.
Matthew 4:4 But he made answer and said, It is in the Writings, Bread is not man's only need, but every word which comes out of the mouth of God.	Matthieu 4:4 Jésus répondit: Il est écrit: L`homme ne vivra pas de pain seulement, mais de toute parole qui sort de la bouche de Dieu.
Matthew 4:5 Then the Evil One took him to the holy town; and he put him on the highest point of the Temple and said to him,	Matthieu 4:5 Le diable le transporta dans la ville sainte, le plaça sur le haut du temple,
Matthew 4:6 If you are the Son of God, let yourself go down; for it is in the Writings, He will give his angels care over you; and, In their hands they will keep you up, so that your foot may not be crushed against a stone.	Matthieu 4:6 et lui dit: Si tu es Fils de Dieu, jette-toi en bas; car il est écrit: Il donnera des ordres à ses anges à ton sujet; Et ils te porteront sur les mains, De peur que ton pied ne heurte contre une pierre.
Matthew 4:7 Jesus said to him, Again it is in the Writings, You may not put the Lord your God to the test.	Matthieu 4:7 Jésus lui dit: Il est aussi écrit: Tu ne tenteras point le Seigneur, ton Dieu.
Matthew 4:8 Again, the Evil One took him up to a very high mountain, and let him see all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them;	Matthieu 4:8 Le diable le transporta encore sur une montagne très élevée, lui montra tous les royaumes du monde et leur gloire,
Matthew 4:9 And he said to him, All these things will I give you, if you will go down on your face and give me worship.	Matthieu 4:9 et lui dit: Je te donnerai toutes ces choses, si tu te prosternes et m`adores.
Matthew 4:10 Then said Jesus to him, Away, Satan: for it is in the Writings, Give worship to the Lord your God and be his servant only.	Matthieu 4:10 Jésus lui dit: Retire-toi, Satan! Car il est écrit: Tu adoreras le Seigneur, ton Dieu, et tu le serviras lui seul.
Matthew 4:11 Then the Evil One went away from him, and angels came and took care of him.	Matthieu 4:11 Alors le diable le laissa. Et voici, des anges vinrent auprès de Jésus, et le servaient.
Matthew 4:12 Now when it came to his ears that John had been put in prison, he went away to Galilee;	Matthieu 4:12 Jésus, ayant appris que Jean avait été livré, se retira dans la Galilée.
Matthew 4:13 And going away from Nazareth, he came and made his living-place in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the country of Zebulun and Naphtali:	Matthieu 4:13 Il quitta Nazareth, et vint demeurer à Capernaüm, située près de la mer, dans le territoire de Zabulon et de Nephthali,
Matthew 4:14 So that the word of the prophet Isaiah might come true,	Matthieu 4:14 afin que s`accomplît ce qui avait été annoncé par Ésaïe, le prophète:
Matthew 4:15 The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,	Matthieu 4:15 Le peuple de Zabulon et de Nephthali, De la contrée voisine de la mer, du pays au delà du Jourdain, Et de la Galilée des Gentils,
Matthew 4:16 The people who were in the dark saw a great light, and to those in the land of the shade of death did the dawn come up.	Matthieu 4:16 Ce peuple, assis dans les ténèbres, A vu une grande lumière; Et sur ceux qui étaient assis dans la région et l`ombre de la mort La lumière s`est levée.
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus went about preaching and saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin, for the kingdom of heaven is near.	Matthieu 4:17 Dès ce moment Jésus commença à prêcher, et à dire: Repentez-vous, car le royaume des cieux est proche.
Matthew 4:18 And when he was walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, whose other name was Peter, and Andrew, his brother, who were putting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.	Matthieu 4:18 Comme il marchait le long de la mer de Galilée, il vit deux frères, Simon, appelé Pierre, et André, son frère, qui jetaient un filet dans la mer; car ils étaient pêcheurs.
Matthew 4:19 And he said to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.	Matthieu 4:19 Il leur dit: Suivez-moi, et je vous ferai pêcheurs d`hommes.
Matthew 4:20 And straight away they let go the nets and went after him.	Matthieu 4:20 Aussitôt, ils laissèrent les filets, et le suivirent.
Matthew 4:21 And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, in the boat with their father, stitching up their nets; and he said, Come.	Matthieu 4:21 De là étant allé plus loin, il vit deux autres frères, Jacques, fils de Zébédée, et Jean, son frère, qui étaient dans une barque avec Zébédée, leur père, et qui réparaient leurs filets.
Matthew 4:22 And they went straight from the boat and their father and came after him.	Matthieu 4:22 Il les appela, et aussitôt ils laissèrent la barque et leur père, et le suivirent.
Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their Synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom, and making well those who were ill with any disease among the people.	Matthieu 4:23 Jésus parcourait toute la Galilée, enseignant dans les synagogues, prêchant la bonne nouvelle du royaume, et guérissant toute maladie et toute infirmité parmi le peuple.
Matthew 4:24 And news of him went out through all Syria; and they took to him all who were ill with different diseases and pains, those having evil spirits and those who were off their heads, and those who had no power of moving. And he made them well.	Matthieu 4:24 Sa renommée se répandit dans toute la Syrie, et on lui amenait tous ceux qui souffraient de maladies et de douleurs de divers genres, des démoniaques, des lunatiques, des paralytiques; et il les guérissait.
Matthew 4:25 And there went after him great numbers from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judaea and from the other side of Jordan.	Matthieu 4:25 Une grande foule le suivit, de la Galilée, de la Décapole, de Jérusalem, de la Judée, et d`au delà du Jourdain.
