Nahum 1:2 The Lord is a God who takes care of his honour and gives punishment for wrong; the Lord gives punishment and is angry; the Lord sends punishment on those who are against him, being angry with his haters.	Nahum 1:2 L`Éternel est un Dieu jaloux, il se venge; L`Éternel se venge, il est plein de fureur; L`Éternel se venge de ses adversaires, Il garde rancune à ses ennemis.
Nahum 1:3 The Lord is slow to get angry and great in power, and will not let the sinner go without punishment: the way of the Lord is in the wind and the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.	Nahum 1:3 L`Éternel est lent à la colère, il est grand par sa force; Il ne laisse pas impuni. L`Éternel marche dans la tempête, dans le tourbillon; Les nuées sont la poussière de ses pieds.
Nahum 1:4 He says sharp words to the sea and makes it dry, drying up all the rivers: Bashan is feeble, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon is without strength.	Nahum 1:4 Il menace la mer et la dessèche, Il fait tarir tous les fleuves; Le Basan et le Carmel languissent, La fleur du Liban se flétrit.
Nahum 1:5 The mountains are shaking because of him, and the hills flowing away; the earth is falling to bits before him, the world and all who are in it.	Nahum 1:5 Les montagnes s`ébranlent devant lui, Et les collines se fondent; La terre se soulève devant sa face, Le monde et tous ses habitants.
Nahum 1:6 Who may keep his place before his wrath? and who may undergo the heat of his passion? his wrath is let loose like fire and the rocks are broken open by him.	Nahum 1:6 Qui résistera devant sa fureur? Qui tiendra contre son ardente colère? Sa fureur se répand comme le feu, Et les rochers se brisent devant lui.
Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a strong place in the day of trouble; and he has knowledge of those who take him for their safe cover.	Nahum 1:7 L`Éternel est bon, Il est un refuge au jour de la détresse; Il connaît ceux qui se confient en lui.
Nahum 1:8 But like water overflowing he will take them away; he will put an end to those who come up against him, driving his haters into the dark.	Nahum 1:8 Mais avec des flots qui déborderont Il détruira la ville, Et il poursuivra ses ennemis jusque dans les ténèbres.
Nahum 1:9 What are you designing against the Lord? he will put an end to it: his haters will not come up again a second time.	Nahum 1:9 Que méditez-vous contre l`Éternel? C`est lui qui détruit. La détresse ne paraîtra pas deux fois.
Nahum 1:10 For though they are like twisted thorns, and are overcome as with drink, they will come to destruction like stems of grass fully dry.	Nahum 1:10 Car entrelacés comme des épines, Et comme ivres de leur vin, Ils seront consumés Comme la paille sèche, entièrement.
Nahum 1:11 One has gone out from you who is designing evil against the Lord, whose purposes are of no value.	Nahum 1:11 De toi est sorti Celui qui méditait le mal contre l`Éternel, Celui qui avait de méchants desseins.
Nahum 1:12 This is what the Lord has said: The days of my cause against you are ended; they are cut off and past. Though I have sent trouble on you, you will no longer be troubled.	Nahum 1:12 Ainsi parle l`Éternel: Quoique intacts et nombreux, Ils seront moissonnés et disparaîtront. Je veux t`humilier, Pour ne plus avoir à t`humilier...
Nahum 1:13 And now I will let his yoke be broken off you, and your chains be parted.	Nahum 1:13 Je briserai maintenant son joug de dessus toi, Et je romprai tes liens...
Nahum 1:14 The Lord has given an order about you, that no more of your name are to be planted: from the house of your gods I will have the pictured and metal images cut off; I will make your last resting-place a place of shame; for you are completely evil.	Nahum 1:14 Voici ce qu`a ordonné sur toi l`Éternel: Tu n`auras plus de descendants qui portent ton nom; J`enlèverai de la maison de ton dieu les images taillées ou en fonte; Je préparerai ton sépulcre, car tu es trop léger.
Nahum 1:15 See on the mountains the feet of him who comes with good news, giving word of peace! Keep your feasts, O Judah, give effect to your oaths: for the good-for-nothing man will never again go through you; he is completely cut off.	Nahum 1:15 Voici sur les montagnes Les pieds du messager qui annonce la paix! Célèbre tes fêtes, Juda, accomplis tes voeux! Car le méchant ne passera plus au milieu de toi, Il est entièrement exterminé...
