Proverbs 24:1 Have no envy for evil men, or any desire to be with them:	Proverbes 24:1 Ne porte pas envie aux hommes méchants, Et ne désire pas être avec eux;
Proverbs 24:2 For the purposes of their hearts are destruction, and their lips are talking of trouble.	Proverbes 24:2 Car leur coeur médite la ruine, Et leurs lèvres parlent d`iniquité.
Proverbs 24:3 The building of a house is by wisdom, and by reason it is made strong:	Proverbes 24:3 C`est par la sagesse qu`une maison s`élève, Et par l`intelligence qu`elle s`affermit;
Proverbs 24:4 And by knowledge its rooms are full of all dear and pleasing things.	Proverbes 24:4 C`est par la science que les chambres se remplissent De tous les biens précieux et agréables.
Proverbs 24:5 A wise man is strong; and a man of knowledge makes strength greater.	Proverbes 24:5 Un homme sage est plein de force, Et celui qui a de la science affermit sa vigueur;
Proverbs 24:6 For by wise guiding you will overcome in war: and in a number of wise guides there is salvation.	Proverbes 24:6 Car tu feras la guerre avec prudence, Et le salut est dans le grand nombre des conseillers.
Proverbs 24:7 Wisdom is outside the power of the foolish: he keeps his mouth shut in the public place.	Proverbes 24:7 La sagesse est trop élevée pour l`insensé; Il n`ouvrira pas la bouche à la porte.
Proverbs 24:8 He whose purposes are bad will be named a man of evil designs.	Proverbes 24:8 Celui qui médite de faire le mal S`appelle un homme plein de malice.
Proverbs 24:9 The purpose of the foolish is sin: and the hater of authority is disgusting to others.	Proverbes 24:9 La pensée de la folie n`est que péché, Et le moqueur est en abomination parmi les hommes.
Proverbs 24:10 If you give way in the day of trouble, your strength is small.	Proverbes 24:10 Si tu faiblis au jour de la détresse, Ta force n`est que détresse.
Proverbs 24:11 Be the saviour of those who are given up to death, and do not keep back help from those who are slipping to destruction.	Proverbes 24:11 Délivre ceux qu`on traîne à la mort, Ceux qu`on va égorger, sauve-les!
Proverbs 24:12 If you say, See, we had no knowledge of this: does not the tester of hearts give thought to it? and he who keeps your soul, has he no knowledge of it? and will he not give to every man the reward of his work?	Proverbes 24:12 Si tu dis: Ah! nous ne savions pas!... Celui qui pèse les coeurs ne le voit-il pas? Celui qui veille sur ton âme ne le connaît-il pas? Et ne rendra-t-il pas à chacun selon ses oeuvres?
Proverbs 24:13 My son, take honey, for it is good; and the flowing honey, which is sweet to your taste:	Proverbes 24:13 Mon fils, mange du miel, car il est bon; Un rayon de miel sera doux à ton palais.
Proverbs 24:14 So let your desire be for wisdom: if you have it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.	Proverbes 24:14 De même, connais la sagesse pour ton âme; Si tu la trouves, il est un avenir, Et ton espérance ne sera pas anéantie.
Proverbs 24:15 Do not keep a secret watch, O evil-doer, against the fields of the upright man, or send destruction on his resting-place:	Proverbes 24:15 Ne tends pas méchamment des embûches à la demeure du juste, Et ne dévaste pas le lieu où il repose;
Proverbs 24:16 For an upright man, after falling seven times, will get up again: but trouble is the downfall of the evil.	Proverbes 24:16 Car sept fois le juste tombe, et il se relève, Mais les méchants sont précipités dans le malheur.
Proverbs 24:17 Do not be glad at the fall of your hater, and let not your heart have joy at his downfall:	Proverbes 24:17 Ne te réjouis pas de la chute de ton ennemi, Et que ton coeur ne soit pas dans l`allégresse quand il chancelle,
Proverbs 24:18 For fear that the Lord may see it, and it may be evil in his eyes, and his wrath may be turned away from him.	Proverbes 24:18 De peur que l`Éternel ne le voie, que cela ne lui déplaise, Et qu`il ne détourne de lui sa colère.
Proverbs 24:19 Do not be troubled because of evil-doers, or have envy of sinners:	Proverbes 24:19 Ne t`irrite pas à cause de ceux qui font le mal, Ne porte pas envie aux méchants;
Proverbs 24:20 For there will be no future for the evil man; the light of sinners will be put out.	Proverbes 24:20 Car il n`y a point d`avenir pour celui qui fait le mal, La lampe des méchants s`éteint.
Proverbs 24:21 My son, go in fear of the Lord and the king: have nothing to do with those who are in high positions:	Proverbes 24:21 Mon fils, crains l`Éternel et le roi; Ne te mêle pas avec les hommes remuants;
Proverbs 24:22 For their downfall will come suddenly; and who has knowledge of the destruction of those in high positions?	Proverbes 24:22 Car soudain leur ruine surgira, Et qui connaît les châtiments des uns et des autres?
Proverbs 24:23 These are more sayings of the wise: To have respect for a person's position when judging is not good.	Proverbes 24:23 Voici encore ce qui vient des sages: Il n`est pas bon, dans les jugements, d`avoir égard aux personnes.
Proverbs 24:24 He who says to the evil-doer, You are upright, will be cursed by peoples and hated by nations.	Proverbes 24:24 Celui qui dit au méchant: Tu es juste! Les peuples le maudissent, les nations le maudissent.
Proverbs 24:25 But those who say sharp words to him will have delight, and a blessing of good will come on them.	Proverbes 24:25 Mais ceux qui le châtient s`en trouvent bien, Et le bonheur vient sur eux comme une bénédiction.
Proverbs 24:26 He gives a kiss with his lips who gives a right answer.	Proverbes 24:26 Il baise les lèvres, Celui qui répond des paroles justes.
Proverbs 24:27 Put your work in order outside, and make it ready in the field; and after that, see to the building of your house.	Proverbes 24:27 Soigne tes affaires au dehors, Mets ton champ en état, Puis tu bâtiras ta maison.
Proverbs 24:28 Do not be a violent witness against your neighbour, or let your lips say what is false.	Proverbes 24:28 Ne témoigne pas à la légère contre ton prochain; Voudrais-tu tromper par tes lèvres?
Proverbs 24:29 Say not, I will do to him as he has done to me; I will give the man the reward of his work.	Proverbes 24:29 Ne dis pas: Je lui ferai comme il m`a fait, Je rendrai à chacun selon ses oeuvres.
Proverbs 24:30 I went by the field of the hater of work, and by the vine-garden of the man without sense;	Proverbes 24:30 J`ai passé près du champ d`un paresseux, Et près de la vigne d`un homme dépourvu de sens.
Proverbs 24:31 And it was all full of thorns, and covered with waste plants, and its stone wall was broken down.	Proverbes 24:31 Et voici, les épines y croissaient partout, Les ronces en couvraient la face, Et le mur de pierres était écroulé.
Proverbs 24:32 Then looking at it, I gave thought: I saw, and I got teaching from it.	Proverbes 24:32 J`ai regardé attentivement, Et j`ai tiré instruction de ce que j`ai vu.
Proverbs 24:33 A little sleep, a little rest, a little folding of the hands in sleep:	Proverbes 24:33 Un peu de sommeil, un peu d`assoupissement, Un peu croiser les mains pour dormir!...
Proverbs 24:34 So loss will come on you like an outlaw, and your need like an armed man.	Proverbes 24:34 Et la pauvreté te surprendra, comme un rôdeur, Et la disette, comme un homme en armes.
