| Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: these are the sons which they had after the great flow of waters | Voici la postérité des fils de Noé, Sem, Cham et Japhet. Il leur naquit des fils après le déluge. |
| The sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras. | Les fils de Japhet furent: Gomer, Magog, Madaï, Javan, Tubal, Méschec et Tiras. |
| And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz and Riphath and Togarmah. | Les fils de Gomer: Aschkenaz, Riphat et Togarma. |
| And the sons of Javan: Elishah and Tarshish, the Kittim and the Dodanim. | Les fils de Javan: Élischa, Tarsis, Kittim et Dodanim. |
| From these came the nations of the sea-lands, with their different families and languages. | C`est par eux qu`ont été peuplées les îles des nations selon leurs terres, selon la langue de chacun, selon leurs familles, selon leurs nations. |
| And the sons of Ham: Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan. | Les fils de Cham furent: Cusch, Mitsraïm, Puth et Canaan. |
| And the sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah and Sabtah and Raamah and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. | Les fils de Cusch: Saba, Havila, Sabta, Raema et Sabteca. Les fils de Raema: Séba et Dedan. |
| And Cush was the father of Nimrod, who was the first of the great men of the earth. | Cusch engendra aussi Nimrod; c`est lui qui commença à être puissant sur la terre. |
| He was a very great bowman, so that there is a saying, Like Nimrod, a very great bowman. | Il fut un vaillant chasseur devant l`Éternel; c`est pourquoi l`on dit: Comme Nimrod, vaillant chasseur devant l`Éternel. |
| And at the first, his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. | Il régna d`abord sur Babel, Érec, Accad et Calné, au pays de Schinear. |
| From that land he went out into Assyria, building Nineveh with its wide streets and Calah, | De ce pays-là sortit Assur; il bâtit Ninive, Rehoboth Hir, Calach, |
| And Resen between Nineveh and Calah, which is a very great town. | et Résen entre Ninive et Calach; c`est la grande ville. |
| And Mizraim was the father of the Ludim and Anamim and Lehabim and Naphtuhim; | Mitsraïm engendra les Ludim, les Anamim, les Lehabim, les Naphtuhim, |
| And Pathrusim and Casluhim and Caphtorim, from whom came the Philistines. | les Patrusim, les Casluhim, d`où sont sortis les Philistins, et les Caphtorim. |
| And Canaan was the father of Zidon, who was his oldest son, and Heth, | Canaan engendra Sidon, son premier-né, et Heth; |
| And the Jebusite and the Amorite and the Girgashite, | et les Jébusiens, les Amoréens, les Guirgasiens, |
| And the Hivite and the Arkite and the Sinite, | les Héviens, les Arkiens, les Siniens, |
| And the Arvadite and the Zemarite and the Hamathite; after that the families of the Canaanites went far and wide in all directions; | les Arvadiens, les Tsemariens, les Hamathiens. Ensuite, les familles des Cananéens se dispersèrent. |
| Their country stretching from Zidon to Gaza, in the direction of Gerar; and to Lasha, in the direction of Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboiim. | Les limites des Cananéens allèrent depuis Sidon, du côté de Guérar, jusqu`à Gaza, et du côté de Sodome, de Gomorrhe, d`Adma et de Tseboïm, jusqu`à Léscha. |
| All these, with their different families, languages, lands, and nations, are the offspring of Ham. | Ce sont là les fils de Cham, selon leurs familles, selon leurs langues, selon leurs pays, selon leurs nations. |
| And Shem, the older brother of Japheth, the father of the children of Eber, had other sons in addition. | Il naquit aussi des fils à Sem, père de tous les fils d`Héber, et frère de Japhet l`aîné. |
| These are the sons of Shem: Elam and Asshur and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram. | Les fils de Sem furent: Élam, Assur, Arpacschad, Lud et Aram. |
| And the sons of Aram: Uz and Hul and Gether and Mash. | Les fils d`Aram: Uts, Hul, Guéter et Masch. |
| And Arpachshad became the father of Shelah; and Shelah became the father of Eber. | Arpacschad engendra Schélach; et Schélach engendra Héber. |
| And Eber had two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, because in his time the peoples of the earth became separate; and his brother's name was Joktan. | Il naquit à Héber deux fils: le nom de l`un était Péleg, parce que de son temps la terre fut partagée, et le nom de son frère était Jokthan. |
| And Joktan was the father of Almodad and Sheleph and Hazarmaveth and Jerah | Jokthan engendra Almodad, Schéleph, Hatsarmaveth, Jérach, |
| And Hadoram and Uzal and Diklah | Hadoram, Uzal, Dikla, |
| And Obal and Abimael and Sheba | Obal, Abimaël, Séba, |
| And Ophir and Havilah and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan. | Ophir, Havila et Jobab. Tous ceux-là furent fils de Jokthan. |
| And their country was from Mesha, in the direction of Sephar, the mountain of the east. | Ils habitèrent depuis Méscha, du côté de Sephar, jusqu`à la montagne de l`orient. |
| These, with their families and their languages and their lands and their nations, are the offspring of Shem. | Ce sont là les fils de Sem, selon leurs familles, selon leurs langues, selon leurs pays, selon leurs nations. |
| These are the families of the sons of Noah, in the order of their generations and their nations: from these came all the nations of the earth after the great flow of waters. | Telles sont les familles des fils de Noé, selon leurs générations, selon leurs nations. Et c`est d`eux que sont sorties les nations qui se sont répandues sur la terre après le déluge. |
