Matthew 1:1 The book of the generations of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.	Matthieu 1:1 Généalogie de Jésus Christ, fils de David, fils d`Abraham.
Matthew 1:2 The son of Abraham was Isaac; and the son of Isaac was Jacob; and the sons of Jacob were Judah and his brothers;	Matthieu 1:2 Abraham engendra Isaac; Isaac engendra Jacob; Jacob engendra Juda et ses frères;
Matthew 1:3 And the sons of Judah were Perez and Zerah by Tamar; and the son of Perez was Hezron; and the son of Hezron was Ram;	Matthieu 1:3 Juda engendra de Thamar Pharès et Zara; Pharès engendra Esrom; Esrom engendra Aram;
Matthew 1:4 And the son of Ram was Amminadab; and the son of Amminadab was Nahshon; and the son of Nahshon was Salmon;	Matthieu 1:4 Aram engendra Aminadab; Aminadab engendra Naasson; Naasson engendra Salmon;
Matthew 1:5 And the son of Salmon by Rahab was Boaz; and the son of Boaz by Ruth was Obed; and the son of Obed was Jesse;	Matthieu 1:5 Salmon engendra Boaz de Rahab; Boaz engendra Obed de Ruth;
Matthew 1:6 And the son of Jesse was David the king; and the son of David was Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah;	Matthieu 1:6 Obed engendra Isaï; Isaï engendra David. Le roi David engendra Salomon de la femme d`Urie;
Matthew 1:7 And the son of Solomon was Rehoboam; and the son of Rehoboam was Abijah; and the son of Abijah was Asa;	Matthieu 1:7 Salomon engendra Roboam; Roboam engendra Abia; Abia engendra Asa;
Matthew 1:8 And the son of Asa was Jehoshaphat; and the son of Jehoshaphat was Joram; and the son of Joram was Uzziah;	Matthieu 1:8 Asa engendra Josaphat; Josaphat engendra Joram; Joram engendra Ozias;
Matthew 1:9 And the son of Uzziah was Jotham; and the son of Jotham was Ahaz; and the son of Ahaz was Hezekiah;	Matthieu 1:9 Ozias engendra Joatham; Joatham engendra Achaz; Achaz engendra Ézéchias;
Matthew 1:10 And the son of Hezekiah was Manasseh; and the son of Manasseh was Amon; and the son of Amon was Josiah;	Matthieu 1:10 Ézéchias engendra Manassé; Manassé engendra Amon; Amon engendra Josias;
Matthew 1:11 And the sons of Josiah were Jechoniah and his brothers, at the time of the taking away to Babylon.	Matthieu 1:11 Josias engendra Jéchonias et ses frères, au temps de la déportation à Babylone.
Matthew 1:12 And after the taking away to Babylon, Jechoniah had a son Shealtiel; and Shealtiel had Zerubbabel;	Matthieu 1:12 Après la déportation à Babylone, Jéchonias engendra Salathiel; Salathiel engendra Zorobabel;
Matthew 1:13 And Zerubbabel had Abiud; and Abiud had Eliakim; and Eliakim had Azor;	Matthieu 1:13 Zorobabel engendra Abiud; Abiud engendra Éliakim; Éliakim engendra Azor;
Matthew 1:14 And Azor had Zadok; and Zadok had Achim; and Achim had Eliud;	Matthieu 1:14 Azor engendra Sadok; Sadok engendra Achim; Achim engendra Éliud;
Matthew 1:15 And Eliud had Eleazar; and Eleazar had Matthan; and Matthan had Jacob;	Matthieu 1:15 Éliud engendra Éléazar; Éléazar engendra Matthan; Matthan engendra Jacob;
Matthew 1:16 And the son of Jacob was Joseph the husband of Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, whose name is Christ.	Matthieu 1:16 Jacob engendra Joseph, l`époux de Marie, de laquelle est né Jésus, qui est appelé Christ.
Matthew 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David to the taking away to Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the taking away to Babylon to the coming of Christ, fourteen generations.	Matthieu 1:17 Il y a donc en tout quatorze générations depuis Abraham jusqu`à David, quatorze générations depuis David jusqu`à la déportation à Babylone, et quatorze générations depuis la déportation à Babylone jusqu`au Christ.
Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was in this way: when his mother Mary was going to be married to Joseph, before they came together the discovery was made that she was with child by the Holy Spirit.	Matthieu 1:18 Voici de quelle manière arriva la naissance de Jésus Christ. Marie, sa mère, ayant été fiancée à Joseph, se trouva enceinte, par la vertu du Saint Esprit, avant qu`ils eussent habité ensemble.
Matthew 1:19 And Joseph, her husband, being an upright man, and not desiring to make her a public example, had a mind to put her away privately.	Matthieu 1:19 Joseph, son époux, qui était un homme de bien et qui ne voulait pas la diffamer, se proposa de rompre secrètement avec elle.
Matthew 1:20 But when he was giving thought to these things, an angel of the Lord came to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, have no fear of taking Mary as your wife; because that which is in her body is of the Holy Spirit.	Matthieu 1:20 Comme il y pensait, voici, un ange du Seigneur lui apparut en songe, et dit: Joseph, fils de David, ne crains pas de prendre avec toi Marie, ta femme, car l`enfant qu`elle a conçu vient du Saint Esprit;
Matthew 1:21 And she will give birth to a son; and you will give him the name Jesus; for he will give his people salvation from their sins.	Matthieu 1:21 elle enfantera un fils, et tu lui donneras le nom de Jésus; c`est lui qui sauvera son peuple de ses péchés.
Matthew 1:22 Now all this took place so that the word of the Lord by the prophet might come true,	Matthieu 1:22 Tout cela arriva afin que s`accomplît ce que le Seigneur avait annoncé par le prophète:
Matthew 1:23 See, the virgin will be with child, and will give birth to a son, and they will give him the name Immanuel, that is, God with us.	Matthieu 1:23 Voici, la vierge sera enceinte, elle enfantera un fils, et on lui donnera le nom d`Emmanuel, ce qui signifie Dieu avec nous.
Matthew 1:24 And Joseph did as the angel of the Lord had said to him, and took her as his wife;	Matthieu 1:24 Joseph s`étant réveillé fit ce que l`ange du Seigneur lui avait ordonné, et il prit sa femme avec lui.
Matthew 1:25 And he had no connection with her till she had given birth to a son; and he gave him the name Jesus.	Matthieu 1:25 Mais il ne la connut point jusqu`à ce qu`elle eût enfanté un fils, auquel il donna le nom de Jésus.
