Nahum 3:1 A curse is on the town of blood; it is full of deceit and violent acts; and there is no end to the taking of life.	Nahum 3:1 Malheur à la ville sanguinaire, Pleine de mensonge, pleine de violence, Et qui ne cesse de se livrer à la rapine!...
Nahum 3:2 The noise of the whip, and the noise of thundering wheels; horses rushing and war-carriages jumping,	Nahum 3:2 On entend le bruit du fouet, Le bruit des roues, Le galop des chevaux, Le roulement des chars.
Nahum 3:3 Horsemen driving forward, and the shining sword and the bright spear: and a great number of wounded, and masses of dead bodies; they are falling over the bodies of the dead:	Nahum 3:3 Les cavaliers s`élancent, l`épée étincelle, la lance brille... Une multitude de blessés!... une foule de cadavres!... Des morts à l`infini!... On tombe sur les morts!...
Nahum 3:4 Because of all the false ways of the loose woman, expert in attraction and wise in secret arts, who takes nations in the net of her false ways, and families through her secret arts.	Nahum 3:4 C`est à cause des nombreuses prostitutions de la prostituée, Pleine d`attraits, habile enchanteresse, Qui vendait les nations par ses prostitutions Et les peuples par ses enchantements.
Nahum 3:5 See, I am against you, says the Lord of armies, and I will have your skirts pulled over your face, and let the nations see you unclothed, and the kingdoms your shame.	Nahum 3:5 Voici, j`en veux à toi, dit l`Éternel des armées, Je relèverai tes pans jusque sur ton visage, Je montrerai ta nudité aux nations, Et ta honte aux royaumes.
Nahum 3:6 I will make you completely disgusting and full of shame, and will put you up to be looked at by all.	Nahum 3:6 Je jetterai sur toi des impuretés, je t`avilirai, Et je te donnerai en spectacle.
Nahum 3:7 And it will come about that all who see you will go in flight from you and say, Nineveh is made waste: who will be weeping for her? where am I to get comforters for her?	Nahum 3:7 Tous ceux qui te verront fuiront loin de toi, Et l`on dira: Ninive est détruite! Qui la plaindra? Où te chercherai-je des consolateurs?
Nahum 3:8 Are you better than No-amon, seated on the Nile streams, with waters all round her; whose wall was the sea and her earthwork the waters?	Nahum 3:8 Es-tu meilleure que No Amon, Qui était assise au milieu des fleuves, Entourée par les eaux, Ayant la mer pour rempart, La mer pour murailles?
Nahum 3:9 Ethiopia was her strength and Egyptians without number; Put and Lubim were her helpers.	Nahum 3:9 L`Éthiopie et les Égyptiens innombrables faisaient sa force, Puth et les Libyens étaient ses auxiliaires.
Nahum 3:10 But even she has been taken away, she has gone away as a prisoner: even her young children are smashed to bits at the top of all the streets: the fate of her honoured men is put to the decision of chance, and all her great men are put in chains.	Nahum 3:10 Et cependant elle est partie pour l`exil, elle s`en est allée captive; Ses enfants ont été écrasés au coin de toutes les rues; On a jeté le sort sur ses nobles, Et tous ses grands ont été chargés de chaînes.
Nahum 3:11 And you will be overcome with wine, you will become feeble; you will be looking for a safe place from those who are fighting against you.	Nahum 3:11 Toi aussi, tu seras enivrée, tu te cacheras; Toi aussi, tu chercheras un refuge contre l`ennemi.
Nahum 3:12 All your walled places will be like fig-trees and your people like the first figs, falling at a shake into the mouth which is open for them.	Nahum 3:12 Toutes tes forteresses Sont des figuiers avec les primeurs; Quand on les secoue, Elles tombent dans la bouche de qui veut les manger.
Nahum 3:13 See, the people who are in you are women; the doorways of your land are wide open to your attackers: the locks of your doors have been burned away in the fire.	Nahum 3:13 Voici, ton peuple, ce sont des femmes au milieu de toi; Les portes de ton pays s`ouvrent à tes ennemis; Le feu consume tes verrous.
Nahum 3:14 Get water for the time when you are shut in, make strong your towns: go into the potter's earth, stamping it down with your feet, make strong the brickworks.	Nahum 3:14 Puise de l`eau pour le siège! Répare tes forteresses! Entre dans la boue, foule l`argile! Rétablis le four à briques!
Nahum 3:15 There the fire will make you waste; you will be cut off by the sword: make yourself as great in number as the worms, as great in number as the locusts.	Nahum 3:15 Là, le feu te dévorera, L`épée t`exterminera, Te dévorera comme des sauterelles. Entasse-toi comme les sauterelles! Entasse-toi comme les sauterelles!
Nahum 3:16 Let your traders be increased more than the stars of heaven:	Nahum 3:16 Tes marchands, plus nombreux Que les étoiles du ciel, Sont comme la sauterelle qui ouvre les ailes et s`envole.
Nahum 3:17 Your crowned ones are like the locusts, and your scribes like the clouds of insects which take cover in the walls on a cold day, but when the sun comes up they go in flight, and are seen no longer in their place.	Nahum 3:17 Tes princes sont comme les sauterelles, Tes chefs comme une multitude de sauterelles, Qui se posent sur les haies au temps de la froidure: Le soleil paraît, elles s`envolent, Et l`on ne connaît plus le lieu où elles étaient.
Nahum 3:18 Sorrow! how are the keepers of your flock sleeping, O king of Assyria! your strong men are at rest; your people are wandering on the mountains, and there is no one to get them together.	Nahum 3:18 Tes bergers sommeillent, roi d`Assyrie, Tes vaillants hommes reposent; Ton peuple est dispersé sur les montagnes, Et nul ne le rassemble.
Nahum 3:19 Your pain may not be made better; you are wounded to death: all those hearing the news about you will be waving their hands in joy over you: for who has not undergone the weight of your evil-doing again and again?	Nahum 3:19 Il n`y a point de remède à ta blessure, Ta plaie est mortelle. Tous ceux qui entendront parler de toi Battront des mains sur toi; Car quel est celui que ta méchanceté n`a pas atteint?
