| The word about Egypt. See, the Lord is seated on a quick-moving cloud, and is coming to Egypt: and the false gods of Egypt will be troubled at his coming, and the heart of Egypt will be turned to water. | Dies ist die Last über Ägypten: Siehe, der HERR wird auf einer schnellen Wolke fahren und über Ägypten kommen. Da werden die Götzen in Ägypten vor ihm beben, und den Ägyptern wird das Herz feige werden in ihrem Leibe. |
| And I will send the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they will be fighting every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; town against town, and kingdom against kingdom. | Und ich will die Ägypter aneinander hetzen, daß ein Bruder gegen den andern, ein Freund gegen den andern, eine Stadt gegen die andere, ein Reich gegen das andere streiten wird. |
| And the spirit of Egypt will be troubled in her, and I will make her decisions without effect: and they will be turning to the false gods, and to those who make hollow sounds, and to those who have control of spirits, and to those who are wise in secret arts. | Und der Mut soll den Ägyptern in ihrem Herzen vergehen, und ich will ihre Anschläge zunichte machen. Da werden sie dann fragen ihre Götzen und Pfaffen und Wahrsager und Zeichendeuter. |
| And I will give the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord; and a hard king will be their ruler, says the Lord, the Lord of armies. | Aber ich will die Ägypter übergeben in die Hände grausamer Herren, und ein harter König soll über sie herrschen, spricht der Herrscher, der HERR Zebaoth. |
| And the waters of the sea will be cut off, and the river will become dry and waste: | Und das Wasser in den Seen wird vertrocknen; dazu der Strom wird versiegen und verschwinden. |
| And the rivers will have an evil smell; the stream of Egypt will become small and dry: all the water-plants will come to nothing. | Und die Wasser werden verlaufen, daß die Flüsse Ägyptens werden gering und trocken werden, daß Rohr und Schilf verwelken, |
| The grass-lands by the Nile, and everything planted by the Nile, will become dry, or taken away by the wind, and will come to an end. | und das Gras an den Wassern wird verstieben, und alle Saat am Wasser wird verdorren und zunichte werden. |
| The fishermen will be sad, and all those who put fishing-lines into the Nile will be full of grief, and those whose nets are stretched out on the waters will have sorrow in their hearts. | Und die Fischer werden trauern; und alle die, so Angeln ins Wasser werfen, werden klagen; und die, so Netze auswerfen aufs Wasser, werden betrübt sein. |
| And all the workers in linen thread, and those who make cotton cloth, will be put to shame. | Es werden mit Schanden bestehen, die da gute Garne wirken und Netze stricken. |
| And the makers of twisted thread will be crushed, and those who ... will be sad in heart. | Und des Landes Pfeiler werden zerschlagen; und alle, die um Lohn arbeiten, werden bekümmert sein. |
| The chiefs of Zoan are completely foolish; the wisest guides of Pharaoh have become like beasts: how do you say to Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the offspring of early kings? | Die Fürsten zu Zoan sind Toren; die weisen Räte Pharaos sind im Rat zu Narren geworden. Was sagt ihr doch zu Pharao: Ich bin der Weisen Kind und komme von alten Königen her? |
| Where, then, are your wise men? let them make clear to you, let them give you knowledge of the purpose of the Lord of armies for Egypt. | Wo sind denn nun deine Weisen? Laß sie dir's verkündigen und anzeigen, was der HERR Zebaoth über Ägypten beschlossen hat. |
| The chiefs of Zoan have become foolish, the chiefs of Noph are tricked, the heads of her tribes are the cause of Egypt's wandering out of the way. | Aber die Fürsten zu Zoan sind zu Narren geworden, die Fürsten zu Noph sind betrogen; es verführen Ägypten die Ecksteine seiner Geschlechter. |
| The Lord has sent among them a spirit of error: and by them Egypt is turned out of the right way in all her doings, as a man overcome by wine is uncertain in his steps. | Denn der HERR hat einen Schwindelgeist unter sie ausgegossen, daß sie Ägypten verführen in allem ihrem Tun, wie ein Trunkenbold taumelt, wenn er speit. |
| And in Egypt there will be no work for any man, head or tail, high or low, to do. | Und Ägypten wird kein Werk haben, das Haupt oder Schwanz, Ast oder Stumpf ausrichte. |
| In that day the Egyptians will be like women: and the land will be shaking with fear because of the waving of the Lord's hand stretched out over it. | Zu der Zeit wird Ägypten sein wie Weiber und sich fürchten und erschrecken, wenn der HERR Zebaoth die Hand über sie schwingen wird. |
| And the land of Judah will become a cause of great fear to Egypt; whenever its name comes to mind, Egypt will be in fear before the Lord of armies because of his purpose against it. | Und Ägypten wird sich fürchten vor dem Lande Juda, daß, wer desselben gedenkt, wird davor erschrecken über den Rat des HERRN Zebaoth, den er über sie beschlossen hat. |
| In that day there will be five towns in the land of Egypt using the language of Canaan, and making oaths to the Lord of armies; and one of them will be named, The Town of the Sun. | Zu der Zeit werden fünf Städte in Ägyptenland reden nach der Sprache Kanaans und schwören bei dem HERRN Zebaoth. Eine wird heißen Ir-Heres. |
| In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the middle of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at the edge of the land. | Zu derselben Zeit wird des HERRN Altar mitten in Ägyptenland sein und ein Malstein des HERRN an den Grenzen, |
| And it will be a sign and a witness to the Lord of armies in the land of Egypt: when they are crying out to the Lord because of their cruel masters, then he will send them a saviour and a strong one to make them free. | welcher wird ein Zeichen und Zeugnis sein dem HERR Zebaoth in Ägyptenland. Denn sie werden zum HERRN schreien vor den Drängern, so wird er ihnen senden einen Heiland und Meister, der sie errette. |
| And the Lord will give the knowledge of himself to Egypt, and the Egyptians will give honour to the Lord in that day; they will give him worship with offerings and meal offerings, and will take an oath to the Lord and give effect to it. | Denn der HERR wird den Ägyptern bekannt werden, und die Ägypter werden den HERRN kennen zu der Zeit und werden ihm dienen mit Opfer und Speisopfer und werden dem HERR geloben und halten. |
| And the Lord will send punishment on Egypt, and will make them well again; and when they come back to the Lord he will give ear to their prayer and take away their disease. | Und der HERR wird die Ägypter plagen und heilen; denn sie werden sich bekehren zum HERRN, und er wird sich erbitten lassen und sie heilen. |
| In that day there will be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and Assyria will come into Egypt, and Egypt will come into Assyria; and the Egyptians will give worship to the Lord together with the Assyrians. | Zu der Zeit wird eine Bahn sein von Ägypten nach Assyrien, daß die Assyrer nach Ägypten und die Ägypter nach Assyrien kommen und die Ägypter samt den Assyrern Gott dienen. |
| In that day Israel will be the third together with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the earth: | Zu der Zeit wird Israel selbdritt sein mit den Ägyptern und Assyrern, ein Segen mitten auf der Erden. |
| Because of the blessing of the Lord of armies which he has given them, saying, A blessing on Egypt my people, and on Assyria the work of my hands, and on Israel my heritage. | Denn der HERR Zebaoth wird sie segnen und sprechen: Gesegnet bist du, Ägypten, mein Volk, und du, Assur, meiner Hände Werk, und du, Israel, mein Erbe! |
