| And he went again into the Synagogue; and there was a man there whose hand was dead. | Und er ging abermals in die Schule. Und es war da ein Mensch, der hatte eine verdorrte Hand. |
| And they were watching him to see if he would make him well on the Sabbath day, so that they might have something against him. | Und sie lauerten darauf, ob er auch am Sabbat ihn heilen würde, auf daß sie eine Sache wider ihn hätten. |
| And he said to the man, Get up and come forward. | Und er sprach zu dem Menschen mit der verdorrten Hand: Tritt hervor! |
| And he said to them, Is it right to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil? to give life or to put to death? But they said nothing. | Und er sprach zu ihnen: Soll man am Sabbat Gutes tun oder Böses tun, das Leben erhalten oder töten? Sie aber schwiegen still. |
| And looking round on them he was angry, being sad because of their hard hearts; and he said to the man, Put out your hand. And he put it out, and his hand was made well. | Und er sah sie umher an mit Zorn und ward betrübt über ihr verstocktes Herz und sprach zu dem Menschen: Strecke deine Hand aus! Und er streckte sie aus; und die Hand ward ihm gesund wie die andere. |
| And the Pharisees went out, and straight away made designs with the Herodians about how they might put him to death. | Und die Pharisäer gingen hinaus und hielten alsbald einen Rat mit des Herodes Dienern über ihn, wie sie ihn umbrächten. |
| And Jesus went away with his disciples to the sea, and a great number from Galilee came after him: and from Judaea, | Aber Jesus entwich mit seinen Jüngern an das Meer; und viel Volks folgte ihm nach aus Galiläa und aus Judäa |
| And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and the other side of Jordan, and the country about Tyre and Sidon, a great number, hearing what great things he did, came to him. | und von Jerusalem und aus Idumäa und von jenseits des Jordans, und die um Tyrus und Sidon wohnen, eine große Menge, die seine Taten hörten, und kamen zu ihm. |
| And he made a request to his disciples to have a little boat ready for him, so that he might not be crushed by the people; | Und er sprach zu seinen Jüngern, daß sie ihm ein Schifflein bereit hielten um des Volkes willen, daß sie ihn nicht drängten. |
| For he had made such a great number well that all those who were diseased were falling down before him for the purpose of touching him. | Denn er heilte ihrer viele, also daß ihn überfielen alle, die geplagt waren, auf daß sie ihn anrührten. |
| And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, went down before him, crying out, and saying, You are the Son of God. | Und wenn ihn die unsauberen Geister sahen, fielen sie vor ihm nieder, schrieen und sprachen: Du bist Gottes Sohn! |
| And he gave them special orders not to say who he was. | Und er bedrohte sie hart, daß sie ihn nicht offenbar machten. |
| And he went up into the mountain, and sent for those whom it was his pleasure to have with him: and they went to him. | Und er ging auf einen Berg und rief zu sich, welche er wollte, und die gingen hin zu ihm. |
| And he took twelve to be with him, so that he might send them out as preachers, | Und er ordnete die Zwölf, daß sie bei ihm sein sollten und daß er sie aussendete, zu predigen, |
| And give them the power of driving out evil spirits: | und daß sie Macht hätten, die Seuchen zu heilen und die Teufel auszutreiben. |
| To Simon he gave the second name of Peter; | Und gab Simon den Namen Petrus; |
| And to James, the son of Zebedee, and John, the brother of James, he gave the second name of Boanerges, which is, Sons of thunder: | und Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und Johannes, den Bruder des Jakobus, und gab ihnen den Namen Bnehargem, das ist gesagt: Donnerskinder; |
| And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot; | und Andreas und Philippus und Bartholomäus und Matthäus und Thomas und Jakobus, des Alphäus Sohn, und Thaddäus und Simon von Kana |
| And Judas Iscariot, who was false to him. | und Judas Ischariot, der ihn verriet. |
| And he went into a house. And the people came together again, so that they were not even able to take bread. | Und sie kamen nach Hause, und da kam abermals das Volk zusammen, also daß sie nicht Raum hatten, zu essen. |
| And when his friends had news of it, they went out to get him, saying, He is off his head. | Und da es die Seinen hörten, gingen sie aus und wollten ihn halten; denn sie sprachen: Er ist von Sinnen. |
| And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem, said, He has Beelzebub, and, By the ruler of evil spirits he sends evil spirits out of men. | Die Schriftgelehrten aber, die von Jerusalem herabgekommen waren, sprachen: Er hat den Beelzebub, und durch den obersten Teufel treibt er die Teufel aus. |
| And turning to them, he said to them in the form of a story, How is it possible for Satan to put out Satan? | Und er rief sie zusammen und sprach zu ihnen in Gleichnissen: Wie kann ein Satan den anderen austreiben? |
| If there is division in a kingdom, that kingdom will come to destruction; | Wenn ein Reich mit sich selbst uneins wird, kann es nicht bestehen. |
| And if there is division in a house, that house will come to destruction; | Und wenn ein Haus mit sich selbst uneins wird, kann es nicht bestehen. |
| And if Satan is at war with himself, and there is division in him, he will not keep his place but will come to an end. | Setzt sich nun der Satan wider sich selbst und ist mit sich selbst uneins, so kann er nicht bestehen, sondern es ist aus mit ihm. |
| But no one is able to go into the house of the strong man and take his goods, without first putting cords round the strong man, and then he will take his goods. | Es kann niemand einem Starken in sein Haus fallen und seinen Hausrat rauben, es sei denn, daß er zuvor den Starken binde und alsdann sein Haus beraube. |
| Truly, I say to you, The sons of men will have forgiveness for all their sins and for all the evil words they say: | Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Alle Sünden werden vergeben den Menschenkindern, auch die Gotteslästerungen, womit sie Gott lästern; |
| But whoever says evil things against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but the evil he has done will be with him for ever: | wer aber den Heiligen Geist lästert, der hat keine Vergebung ewiglich, sondern ist schuldig des ewigen Gerichts. |
| Because they said, He has an unclean spirit. | Denn sie sagten: Er hat einen unsauberen Geist. |
| And his mother and brothers came and were outside, and sent for him, requesting to see him. | Und es kam seine Mutter und seine Brüder und standen draußen, schickten zu ihm und ließen ihn rufen. |
| And a great number were seated round him; and they said to him, See, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you. | Und das Volk saß um ihn. Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Siehe, deine Mutter und deine Brüder draußen fragen nach dir. |
| And he said in answer, Who are my mother and my brothers? | Und er antwortete ihnen und sprach: Wer ist meine Mutter und meine Brüder? |
| And looking round at those who were seated about him, he said, See, my mother and my brothers! | Und er sah rings um sich auf die Jünger, die im Kreise saßen, und sprach: Siehe, das ist meine Mutter und meine Brüder! |
| Whoever does God's pleasure, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. | Denn wer Gottes Willen tut, der ist mein Bruder und meine Schwester und meine Mutter. |
