| Now Miriam and Aaron said evil against Moses, because of the Cushite woman to whom he was married, for he had taken a Cushite woman as his wife. | Und Mirjam und Aaron redeten wider Mose um seines Weibes willen, der Mohrin, die er genommen hatte, darum daß er eine Mohrin zum Weibe genommen hatte, |
| And they said, Have the words of the Lord been given to Moses only? have they not come to us? And the Lord took note of it. | und sprachen: Redet denn der HERR allein durch Mose? Redet er nicht auch durch uns? Und der HERR hörte es. |
| Now the man Moses was more gentle than any other man on earth. | Aber Mose war ein sehr geplagter Mensch über alle Menschen auf Erden. |
| And suddenly the Lord said to Moses and Aaron and Miriam, Come out, you three, to the Tent of meeting. And the three of them went out. | Und plötzlich sprach der HERR zu Mose und zu Aaron und zu Mirjam: Geht heraus, ihr drei, zu der Hütte des Stifts. Und sie gingen alle drei heraus. |
| And the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud, taking his place at the door of the Tent, and made Aaron and Miriam come before him. | Da kam der HERR hernieder in der Wolkensäule und trat in der Hütte Tür und rief Aaron und Mirjam; und die beiden gingen hinaus. |
| And he said, Now give ear to my words: if there is a prophet among you I will give him knowledge of myself in a vision and will let my words come to him in a dream. | Und er sprach: Höret meine Worte: Ist jemand unter euch ein Prophet des HERRN, dem will ich mich kundmachen in einem Gesicht oder will mit ihm reden in einem Traum. |
| My servant Moses is not so; he is true to me in all my house: | Aber nicht also mein Knecht Mose, der in meinem ganzen Hause treu ist. |
| With him I will have talk mouth to mouth, openly and not in dark sayings; and with his eyes he will see the form of the Lord: why then had you no fear of saying evil against my servant Moses? | Mündlich rede ich mit ihm, und er sieht den HERRN in seiner Gestalt, nicht durch dunkle Worte oder Gleichnisse. Warum habt ihr euch denn nicht gefürchtet, wider meinen Knecht Mose zu reden? |
| And burning with wrath against them, the Lord went away. | Und der Zorn des HERRN ergrimmte über sie, und er wandte sich weg; |
| And the cloud was moved from over the Tent; and straight away Miriam became a leper, as white as snow: and Aaron, looking at Miriam, saw that she was a leper. | dazu die Wolke wich auch von der Hütte. Und siehe da war Mirjam aussätzig wie der Schnee. Und Aaron wandte sich zu Mirjam und wird gewahr, daß sie aussätzig ist, |
| Then Aaron said to Moses, O my lord, let not our sin be on our heads, for we have done foolishly and are sinners. | Und sprach zu Mose: Ach, mein Herr, laß die Sünde nicht auf uns bleiben, mit der wir töricht getan und uns versündigt haben, |
| Let her not be as one dead, whose flesh is half wasted when he comes out from the body of his mother. | daß diese nicht sei wie ein Totes, das von seiner Mutter Leibe kommt und ist schon die Hälfte seines Fleisches gefressen. |
| And Moses, crying to the Lord, said, Let my prayer come before you, O God, and make her well. | Mose aber schrie zu dem HERRN und sprach: Ach Gott, heile sie! |
| And the Lord said to Moses, If her father had put a mark of shame on her, would she not be shamed for seven days? Let her be shut up outside the tent-circle for seven days, and after that she may come in again. | Der HERR sprach zu Mose: Wenn ihr Vater ihr ins Angesicht gespieen hätte, sollte sie sich nicht sieben Tage schämen? Laß sie verschließen sieben Tage außerhalb des Lagers; darnach laß sie wieder aufnehmen. |
| So Miriam was shut up outside the tent-circle for seven days: and the people did not go forward on their journey till Miriam had come in again. | Also ward Mirjam sieben Tage verschlossen außerhalb des Lagers. Und das Volk zog nicht weiter, bis Mirjam aufgenommen ward. |
| After that, the people went on from Hazeroth and put up their tents in the waste land of Paran. | Darnach zog das Volk von Hazeroth und lagerte sich in die Wüste Pharan. |
