Ezra 5:1 Now the prophets Haggai and Zechariah, the son of Iddo, were preaching to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel.	Esdra 5:1 Or i profeti Aggeo e Zaccaria, figliuolo d’Iddo, profetarono nel nome dell’Iddio d’Israele ai Giudei ch’erano in Giuda ed a Gerusalemme.
Ezra 5:2 Then Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, got up and made a start at building the house of God at Jerusalem: and the prophets of God were with them, helping them.	Esdra 5:2 Allora Zorobabel, figliuolo di Scealtiel, e Jeshua, figliuolo di Jotsadak, si levarono e ricominciarono a edificare la casa di Dio a Gerusalemme; e con essi erano i profeti di Dio, che li secondavano.
Ezra 5:3 At the same time, Tattenai, ruler of the land across the river, and Shethar-bozenai, and their men, came to them and said, Who gave you orders to go on building this house and this wall?	Esdra 5:3 In quel medesimo tempo giunsero da loro Tattenai, governatore d’oltre il fiume, Scethar-Boznai e i loro colleghi, e parlaron loro così: "Chi v’ha dato ordine di edificare questa casa e di rialzare queste mura?"
Ezra 5:4 Then they said these words to them: What are the names of the men who are at work on this building?	Esdra 5:4 Poi aggiunsero: "Quali sono i nomi degli uomini che costruiscono quest’edifizio?"
Ezra 5:5 But the eye of their God was on the chiefs of the Jews, and they did not make them give up working till the question had been put before Darius and an answer had come by letter about it.	Esdra 5:5 Ma sugli anziani dei Giudei vegliava l’occhio del loro Dio e quelli non li fecero cessare i lavori, finché la cosa non fosse stata sottoposta a Dario, e da lui fosse giunta una risposta in proposito.
Ezra 5:6 This is a copy of the letter which Tattenai, the ruler of the land across the river, and Shethar-bozenai and his friends the Apharsachites, living across the river, sent to Darius the king:	Esdra 5:6 Copia della lettera mandata al re Dario da Tattenai, governatore d’oltre il fiume, da Scethar-Boznai, e dai suoi colleghi, gli Afarsakiti, ch’erano oltre il fiume.
Ezra 5:7 They sent him a letter saying, To Darius the king, all peace:	Esdra 5:7 Gl’inviarono un rapporto così concepito: "Al re Dario, perfetta salute!
Ezra 5:8 This is to give the king word that we went into the land of Judah, to the house of the great God, which is made of great stones, and has its walls supported with wood, and the work is going on with industry, and they are doing it well.	Esdra 5:8 Sappia il re che noi siamo andati nella provincia di Giuda, alla casa del gran Dio. Essa si costruisce con blocchi di pietra, e nelle pareti s’interpongono de’ legnami; l’opera vien fatta con cura e progredisce nelle loro mani.
Ezra 5:9 Then we said to the men responsible, who gave you authority for the building of this house and these walls?	Esdra 5:9 Noi abbiamo interrogato quegli anziani, e abbiam parlato loro così: Chi v’ha dato ordine di edificare questa casa e di rialzare queste mura?
Ezra 5:10 And we made request for their names, so that we might send you word, and give you the names of the men at the head of them.	Esdra 5:10 Abbiamo anche domandato loro i loro nomi per notificarteli, mettendo in iscritto i nomi degli uomini che stanno loro a capo.
Ezra 5:11 And they made answer to us, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are building the house which was put up in times long past and was designed and made complete by a great king of Israel.	Esdra 5:11 E questa è la risposta che ci hanno data: Noi siamo i servi dell’Iddio del cielo e della terra, e riedifichiamo la casa ch’era stata edificata già molti anni fa: un gran re d’Israele l’aveva edificata e compiuta.
Ezra 5:12 But when the God of heaven was moved to wrath by our fathers, he gave them up into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, the Chaldaean, who sent destruction on this house and took the people away into Babylon.	Esdra 5:12 Ma avendo i nostri padri provocato ad ira l’Iddio del cielo, Iddio li diede in mano di Nebucadnetsar, re di Babilonia, il Caldeo, il quale distrusse questa casa, e menò il popolo in cattività a Babilonia.
Ezra 5:13 But in the first year of Cyrus, king of Babylon, Cyrus the king gave an order for the building of this house of God;	Esdra 5:13 Ma il primo anno di Ciro, re di Babilonia, il re Ciro die’ ordine che questa casa di Dio fosse riedificata.
Ezra 5:14 And the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took from the Temple which was in Jerusalem, and put into the house of his god in Babylon, these Cyrus the king took from the house of his god in Babylon, and gave to one named Sheshbazzar, whom he had made ruler;	Esdra 5:14 E il re Ciro trasse pure dal tempio di Babilonia gli utensili d’oro e d’argento della casa di Dio, che Nebucadnetsar avea portati via dal tempio di Gerusalemme e trasportati nel tempio di Babilonia; li fece consegnare a uno chiamato Sceshbatsar, ch’egli aveva fatto governatore, e gli disse:
Ezra 5:15 And he said to him, Go, take these vessels, and put them in the Temple in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be put up again in its place.	Esdra 5:15 Prendi questi utensili, va’ a riporli nel tempio di Gerusalemme, e la casa di Dio sia riedificata dov’era.
Ezra 5:16 Then this same Sheshbazzar came and put the house of God in Jerusalem on its bases: and from that time till now the building has been going on, but it is still not complete.	Esdra 5:16 Allora lo stesso Sceshbatsar venne e gettò le fondamenta della casa di Dio a Gerusalemme; da quel tempo fino ad ora essa è in costruzione, ma non è ancora finita.
Ezra 5:17 So now, if it seems good to the king, let search be made in the king's store-house at Babylon, to see if it is true that an order was given by Cyrus the king for the building of this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send us word of his pleasure in connection with this business.	Esdra 5:17 Or dunque, se così piaccia al re, si faccian delle ricerche nella casa dei tesori del re a Babilonia, per accertare se vi sia stato un ordine dato dal re Ciro per la costruzione di questa casa a Gerusalemme; e ci trasmetta il re il suo beneplacito a questo riguardo".
