James 3:1 Do not all be teachers, my brothers, because we teachers will be judged more hardly than others.	Giacomo 3:1 Fratelli miei, non siate molti a far da maestri, sapendo che ne riceveremo un più severo giudicio.
James 3:2 For we all go wrong in a number of things. If a man never makes a slip in his talk, then he is a complete man and able to keep all his body in control.	Giacomo 3:2 Poiché tutti falliamo in molte cose. Se uno non falla nel parlare, esso è un uomo perfetto, capace di tenere a freno anche tutto il corpo.
James 3:3 Now if we put bits of iron into horses' mouths so that they may be guided by us, we have complete control of their bodies.	Giacomo 3:3 Se mettiamo il freno in bocca ai cavalli perché ci ubbidiscano, noi guidiamo anche tutto quanto il loro corpo.
James 3:4 And again ships, though they are so great and are moved by violent winds, are turned by a very small guiding-blade, at the impulse of the man who is using it.	Giacomo 3:4 Ecco, anche le navi, benché siano così grandi e sian sospinte da fieri venti, son dirette da un piccolissimo timone, dovunque vuole l’impulso di chi le governa.
James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a small part of the body, but it takes credit for great things. How much wood may be lighted by a very little fire!	Giacomo 3:5 Così anche la lingua è un piccol membro, e si vanta di gran cose. Vedete un piccol fuoco, che gran foresta incendia!
James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire; it is the power of evil placed in our bodies, making all the body unclean, putting the wheel of life on fire, and getting its fire from hell.	Giacomo 3:6 Anche la lingua è un fuoco, è il mondo dell’iniquità. Posta com’è fra le nostre membra, contamina tutto il corpo e infiamma la ruota della vita, ed è infiammata dalla geenna.
James 3:7 For every sort of beast and bird and every living thing on earth and in the sea has been controlled by man and is under his authority;	Giacomo 3:7 Ogni sorta di fiere e d’uccelli, di rettili e di animali marini si doma, ed è stata domata dalla razza umana;
James 3:8 But the tongue may not be controlled by man; it is an unresting evil, it is full of the poison of death.	Giacomo 3:8 ma la lingua, nessun uomo la può domare; è un male senza posa, è piena di mortifero veleno.
James 3:9 With it we give praise to our Lord and Father; and with it we put a curse on men who are made in God's image.	Giacomo 3:9 Con essa benediciamo il Signore e Padre; e con essa malediciamo gli uomini che son fatti a somiglianza di Dio.
James 3:10 Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My brothers, it is not right for these things to be so.	Giacomo 3:10 Dalla medesima bocca procede benedizione e maledizione.
James 3:11 Does the fountain send from the same outlet sweet and bitter water?	Giacomo 3:11 Fratelli miei, non dev’essere così. La fonte getta essa dalla medesima apertura il dolce e l’amaro?
James 3:12 Is a fig-tree able to give us olives, my brothers, or do we get figs from a vine, or sweet water from the salt sea?	Giacomo 3:12 Può, fratelli miei, un fico fare ulive, o una vite fichi? Neppure può una fonte salata dare acqua dolce.
James 3:13 Who has wisdom and good sense among you? let him make his works clear by a life of gentle wisdom.	Giacomo 3:13 Chi è savio e intelligente fra voi? Mostri con la buona condotta le sue opere in mansuetudine di sapienza.
James 3:14 But if you have bitter envy in your heart and the desire to get the better of others, have no pride in this, talking falsely against what is true.	Giacomo 3:14 Ma se avete nel cuor vostro dell’invidia amara e uno spirito di contenzione, non vi gloriate e non mentite contro la verità.
James 3:15 This wisdom is not from heaven, but is of the earth and the flesh and the Evil One.	Giacomo 3:15 Questa non è la sapienza che scende dall’alto, anzi ella è terrena, carnale, diabolica.
James 3:16 For where envy is, and the desire to get the better of others, there is no order, but every sort of evil-doing.	Giacomo 3:16 Poiché dove sono invidia e contenzione, quivi è disordine ed ogni mala azione.
James 3:17 But the wisdom which is from heaven is first holy, then gentle, readily giving way in argument, full of peace and mercy and good works, not doubting, not seeming other than it is.	Giacomo 3:17 Ma la sapienza che è da alto, prima è pura; poi pacifica, mite, arrendevole, piena di misericordia e di buoni frutti, senza parzialità senza ipocrisia.
James 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is planted in peace for those who make peace.	Giacomo 3:18 Or il frutto della giustizia si semina nella pace per quelli che s’adoprano alla pace.
