John 5	Giovanni 5
John 5:1 After these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.	Giovanni 5:1 Dopo queste cose ci fu una festa de’ Giudei, e Gesù salì a Gerusalemme.
John 5:2 Now in Jerusalem near the sheep-market there is a public bath which in Hebrew is named Beth-zatha. It has five doorways.	Giovanni 5:2 Or a Gerusalemme, presso la porta delle Pecore, v’è una vasca, chiamata in ebraico Betesda, che ha cinque portici.
John 5:3 In these doorways there were a great number of people with different diseases: some unable to see, some without the power of walking, some with wasted bodies.	Giovanni 5:3 Sotto questi portici giaceva un gran numero d’infermi, di ciechi, di zoppi, di paralitici, i quali aspettavano l’agitarsi dell’acqua;
John 5:4 []	Giovanni 5:4 perché un angelo scendeva nella vasca e metteva l’acqua in movimento; e il primo che vi scendeva dopo che l’acqua era stata agitata, era guarito di qualunque malattia fosse colpito.
John 5:5 One man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.	Giovanni 5:5 E quivi era un uomo, che da trentott’anni era infermo.
John 5:6 When Jesus saw him there on the floor it was clear to him that he had been now a long time in that condition, and so he said to the man, Is it your desire to get well?	Giovanni 5:6 Gesù, vedutolo che giaceva e sapendo che già da gran tempo stava così, gli disse: Vuoi esser risanato?
John 5:7 The ill man said in answer, Sir, I have nobody to put me into the bath when the water is moving; and while I am on the way down some other person gets in before me.	Giovanni 5:7 L’infermo gli rispose: Signore, io non ho alcuno che, quando l’acqua è mossa, mi metta nella vasca, e mentre ci vengo io, un altro vi scende prima di me.
John 5:8 Jesus said to him, Get up, take your bed and go.	Giovanni 5:8 Gesù gli disse: Lèvati, prendi il tuo lettuccio, e cammina.
John 5:9 And the man became well straight away, and took up his bed and went. Now that day was the Sabbath.	Giovanni 5:9 E in quell’istante quell’uomo fu risanato; e preso il suo lettuccio, si mise a camminare.
John 5:10 So the Jews said to the man who had been made well, It is the Sabbath; and it is against the law for you to take up your bed.	Giovanni 5:10 Or quel giorno era un sabato; perciò i Giudei dissero all’uomo guarito: E’ sabato, e non ti è lecito portare il tuo lettuccio.
John 5:11 He said to them, But he who made me well, said to me, Take up your bed and go.	Giovanni 5:11 Ma egli rispose loro: E’ colui che m’ha guarito, che m’ha detto: Prendi il tuo lettuccio e cammina.
John 5:12 Then they put to him the question: Who is the man who said to you, Take it up and go?	Giovanni 5:12 Essi gli domandarono: Chi è quell’uomo che t’ha detto: Prendi il tuo lettuccio e cammina?
John 5:13 Now he who had been made well had no knowledge who it was, Jesus having gone away because of the number of people who were in that place.	Giovanni 5:13 Ma colui ch’era stato guarito non sapeva chi fosse; perché Gesù era scomparso, essendovi in quel luogo molta gente.
John 5:14 After a time Jesus came across him in the Temple and said to him, See, you are well and strong; do no more sin for fear a worse thing comes to you.	Giovanni 5:14 Di poi Gesù lo trovò nel tempio, e gli disse: Ecco, tu sei guarito; non peccar più, che non t’accada di peggio.
John 5:15 The man went away and said to the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.	Giovanni 5:15 Quell’uomo se ne andò, e disse ai Giudei che Gesù era quel che l’avea risanato.
John 5:16 And for this reason the Jews were turned against Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.	Giovanni 5:16 E per questo i Giudei perseguitavano Gesù e cercavan d’ucciderlo; perché facea quelle cose di sabato.
John 5:17 But his answer was: My Father is still working even now, and so I am working.	Giovanni 5:17 Gesù rispose loro: Il Padre mio opera fino ad ora, ed anche io opero.
John 5:18 For this cause the Jews had an even greater desire to put Jesus to death, because not only did he not keep the Sabbath but he said God was his Father, so making himself equal with God.	Giovanni 5:18 Perciò dunque i Giudei più che mai cercavan d’ucciderlo; perché non soltanto violava il sabato, ma chiamava Dio suo Padre, facendosi uguale a Dio.
John 5:19 So Jesus made answer and said, Truly I say to you, The Son is not able to do anything himself; he is able to do only what he sees the Father doing; whatever the Father does the Son does it in the same way.	Giovanni 5:19 Gesù quindi rispose e disse loro: In verità, in verità io vi dico che il Figliuolo non può da se stesso far cosa alcuna, se non la vede fare dal Padre; perché le cose che il Padre fa, anche il Figlio le fa similmente.
John 5:20 For the Father has love for the Son and lets him see everything which he does: and he will let him see greater works than these so that you may be full of wonder.	Giovanni 5:20 Poiché il Padre ama il Figliuolo, e gli mostra tutto quello che Egli fa; e gli mostrerà delle opere maggiori di queste, affinché ne restiate maravigliati.
John 5:21 In the same way, as the Father gives life to the dead, even so the Son gives life to those to whom he is pleased to give it.	Giovanni 5:21 Difatti, come il Padre risuscita i morti e li vivifica, così anche il Figliuolo vivifica chi vuole.
John 5:22 The Father is not the judge of men, but he has given all decisions into the hands of the Son;	Giovanni 5:22 Oltre a ciò, il Padre non giudica alcuno, ma ha dato tutto il giudicio al Figliuolo,
John 5:23 So that all men may give honour to the Son even as they give honour to the Father. He who gives no honour to the Son gives no honour to the Father who sent him.	Giovanni 5:23 affinché tutti onorino il Figliuolo come onorano il Padre. Chi non onora il Figliuolo non onora il Padre che l’ha mandato.
John 5:24 Truly I say to you, The man whose ears are open to my word and who has faith in him who sent me, has eternal life; he will not be judged, but has come from death into life.	Giovanni 5:24 In verità, in verità io vi dico: Chi ascolta la mia parola e crede a Colui che mi ha mandato, ha vita eterna; e non viene in giudizio, ma è passato dalla morte alla vita.
John 5:25 Truly I say to you, The time is coming, it has even now come, when the voice of the Son of God will come to the ears of the dead, and those hearing it will have life.	Giovanni 5:25 In verità, in verità io vi dico: L’ora viene, anzi è già venuta, che i morti udranno la voce del Figliuol di Dio; e quelli che l’avranno udita, vivranno.
John 5:26 For even as the Father has life in himself, so he has given to the Son to have life in himself.	Giovanni 5:26 Perché come il Padre ha vita in se stesso, così ha dato anche al Figliuolo d’aver vita in se stesso;
John 5:27 And he has given him authority to be judge because he is the Son of man.	Giovanni 5:27 e gli ha dato autorità di giudicare, perché è il Figliuol dell’uomo.
John 5:28 Do not be surprised at this: for the time is coming when his voice will come to all who are in the place of the dead,	Giovanni 5:28 Non vi maravigliate di questo; perché l’ora viene in cui tutti quelli che sono nei sepolcri, udranno la sua voce e ne verranno fuori:
John 5:29 And they will come out; those who have done good, into the new life; and those who have done evil, to be judged.	Giovanni 5:29 quelli che hanno operato bene, in risurrezione di vita; e quelli che hanno operato male, in risurrezion di giudicio.
John 5:30 Of myself I am unable to do anything: as the voice comes to me so I give a decision: and my decision is right because I have no desire to do what is pleasing to myself, but only what is pleasing to him who sent me.	Giovanni 5:30 Io non posso far nulla da me stesso; come odo, giudico; e il mio giudicio è giusto, perché cerco non la mia propria volontà, ma la volontà di Colui che mi ha mandato.
John 5:31 If I gave witness about myself, my witness would not be true.	Giovanni 5:31 Se io rendo testimonianza di me stesso, la mia testimonianza non è verace.
John 5:32 There is another who gives witness about me and I am certain that the witness he gives about me is true.	Giovanni 5:32 V’è un altro che rende testimonianza di me; e io so che la testimonianza ch’egli rende di me, è verace.
John 5:33 You sent to John and he gave true witness.	Giovanni 5:33 Voi avete mandato da Giovanni, ed egli ha reso testimonianza alla verità.
John 5:34 But I have no need of a man's witness: I only say these things so that you may have salvation.	Giovanni 5:34 Io però la testimonianza non la prendo dall’uomo, ma dico questo affinché voi siate salvati.
John 5:35 He was a burning and shining light, and for a time you were ready to be happy in his light.	Giovanni 5:35 Egli era la lampada ardente e splendente e voi avete voluto per breve ora godere alla sua luce.
John 5:36 But the witness which I have is greater than that of John: the work which the Father has given me to do, the very work which I am now doing, is a witness that the Father has sent me.	Giovanni 5:36 Ma io ho una testimonianza maggiore di quella di Giovanni; perché le opere che il Padre mi ha dato a compiere, quelle opere stesse che io fo, testimoniano di me che il Padre mi ha mandato.
John 5:37 And the Father himself who sent me has given witness about me. Not one of you has ever given ear to his voice; his form you have not seen.	Giovanni 5:37 E il Padre che mi ha mandato, ha Egli stesso reso testimonianza di me. La sua voce, voi non l’avete mai udita; e il suo sembiante, non l’avete mai veduto;
John 5:38 And you have not kept his word in your hearts, because you have not faith in him whom he has sent.	Giovanni 5:38 e la sua parola non l’avete dimorante in voi, perché non credete in colui ch’Egli ha mandato.
John 5:39 You make search in the holy Writings, in the belief that through them you get eternal life; and it is those Writings which give witness about me.	Giovanni 5:39 Voi investigate le Scritture, perché pensate aver per mezzo d’esse vita eterna, ed esse son quelle che rendon testimonianza di me;
John 5:40 And still you have no desire to come to me so that you may have life.	Giovanni 5:40 eppure non volete venire a me per aver la vita!
John 5:41 I do not take honour from men;	Giovanni 5:41 Io non prendo gloria dagli uomini;
John 5:42 But I have knowledge of you that you have no love for God in your hearts.	Giovanni 5:42 ma vi conosco che non avete l’amor di Dio in voi.
John 5:43 I have come in my Father's name, and your hearts are not open to me. If another comes with no other authority but himself, you will give him your approval.	Giovanni 5:43 Io son venuto nel nome del Padre mio, e voi non mi ricevete; se un altro verrà nel suo proprio nome, voi lo riceverete.
John 5:44 How is it possible for you to have faith while you take honour one from another and have no desire for the honour which comes from the only God?	Giovanni 5:44 Come potete credere, voi che prendete gloria gli uni dagli altri e non cercate la gloria che vien da Dio solo?
John 5:45 Put out of your minds the thought that I will say things against you to the Father: the one who says things against you is Moses, on whom you put your hopes.	Giovanni 5:45 Non crediate che io sia colui che vi accuserà davanti al Padre; v’è chi v’accusa, ed è Mosè, nel quale avete riposta la vostra speranza.
John 5:46 If you had belief in Moses you would have belief in me; for his writings are about me.	Giovanni 5:46 Perché se credeste a Mosè, credereste anche a me; poiché egli ha scritto di me.
John 5:47 If you have no belief in his writings, how will you have belief in my words?	Giovanni 5:47 Ma se non credete agli scritti di lui, come crederete alle mie parole?
