Joshua 4:1 Now when all the nation had come to the other side of Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua,	Giosuè 4:1 Or quando tutta la nazione ebbe finito di passare il Giordano (l’Eterno avea parlato a Giosuè dicendo:
Joshua 4:2 Take twelve men from the people, a man for every tribe,	Giosuè 4:2 Prendete tra il popolo dodici uomini, uno per tribù,
Joshua 4:3 And say to them, Take up from the middle of Jordan, from the place where the feet of the priests were resting, twelve stones, and take them over with you and put them down in the place where you take your rest tonight.	Giosuè 4:3 e date loro quest’ordine: Pigliate di qui, di mezzo al Giordano, dal luogo dove i sacerdoti sono stati a piè fermo, dodici pietre, portatele con voi di là dal fiume, e collocatele nel luogo dove accamperete stanotte),
Joshua 4:4 So Joshua sent for the twelve men, whom he had ready, one man out of every tribe of the children of Israel,	Giosuè 4:4 Giosuè chiamò i dodici uomini che avea designati tra i figliuoli d’Israele, un uomo per tribù, e disse loro:
Joshua 4:5 And he said to them, Go over before the ark of the Lord your God into the middle of Jordan, and let every one of you take up a stone on his back, one for every tribe of the children of Israel:	Giosuè 4:5 "Passate davanti all’arca dell’Eterno, del vostro Dio, in mezzo al Giordano, e ognun di voi tolga in ispalla una pietra, secondo il numero delle tribù dei figliuoli d’Israele,
Joshua 4:6 So that this may be a sign among you; when your children say to you in time to come, What is the reason for these stones?	Giosuè 4:6 affinché questo sia un segno in mezzo a voi. Quando, in avvenire, i vostri figliuoli vi domanderanno: Che significan per voi queste pietre?
Joshua 4:7 Then you will say to them, Because the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the Lord's agreement; when it went over Jordan the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones will be a sign for the children of Israel, keeping it in their memory for ever.	Giosuè 4:7 Voi risponderete loro: Le acque del Giordano furon tagliate dinanzi all’arca del patto dell’Eterno; quand’essa passò il Giordano, le acque del Giordano furon tagliate, e queste pietre sono, per i figliuoli d’Israele, una ricordanza in perpetuo".
Joshua 4:8 So the children of Israel did as Joshua gave them orders, and took twelve stones from the middle of Jordan, as the Lord had said to Joshua, one for every tribe of the children of Israel; these they took across with them to their night's resting-place and put them down there.	Giosuè 4:8 I figliuoli d’Israele fecero dunque come Giosuè aveva ordinato; presero dodici pietre di mezzo al Giordano, come l’Eterno avea detto a Giosuè secondo il numero delle tribù de’ figliuoli d’Israele; le portarono con loro di là dal fiume nel luogo ove doveano passar la notte, e quivi le collocarono.
Joshua 4:9 And Joshua put up twelve stones in the middle of Jordan, where the feet of the priests who took up the ark of the agreement had been placed: and there they are to this day.	Giosuè 4:9 Giosuè rizzò pure dodici pietre in mezzo al Giordano, nel luogo ove s’eran fermati i piedi de’ sacerdoti che portavano l’arca del patto, e vi son rimaste fino al dì d’oggi.
Joshua 4:10 For the priests who took up the ark kept there in the middle of Jordan till all the orders given to Joshua by Moses from the Lord had been done: then the people went over quickly.	Giosuè 4:10 I sacerdoti che portavan l’arca rimasero fermi in mezzo al Giordano finché tutto quello che l’Eterno avea comandato a Giosuè di dire al popolo fosse eseguito, conformemente agli ordini che Mosè avea dato a Giosuè. E il popolo s’affrettò a passare.
Joshua 4:11 And when all the people had come to the other side, the ark of the Lord went over, and the priests, before the eyes of the people.	Giosuè 4:11 Quando tutto il popolo ebbe finito di passare, l’arca dell’Eterno, coi sacerdoti, passò anch’essa in presenza del popolo.
Joshua 4:12 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh went over armed before the children of Israel as Moses had said to them:	Giosuè 4:12 E i figliuoli di Ruben, i figliuoli di Gad e mezza la tribù di Manasse passarono in armi davanti ai figliuoli d’Israele, come Mosè avea lor detto.
Joshua 4:13 About forty thousand armed for war went over before the Lord to the fight, to the lowlands of Jericho.	Giosuè 4:13 Circa quarantamila uomini, pronti di tutto punto per la guerra, passarono davanti all’Eterno nelle pianure di Gerico, per andare a combattere.
Joshua 4:14 That day the Lord made Joshua great in the eyes of all Israel; and all the days of his life they went in fear of him, as they had gone in fear of Moses.	Giosuè 4:14 In quel giorno, l’Eterno rese grande Giosuè agli occhi di tutto Israele; ed essi lo temettero, come avean temuto Mosè tutti i giorni della sua vita.
Joshua 4:15 Then the Lord said to Joshua,	Giosuè 4:15 Or l’Eterno parlò a Giosuè, e gli disse:
Joshua 4:16 Give orders to the priests who take up the ark of witness, to come up out of Jordan.	Giosuè 4:16 "Ordina ai sacerdoti che portano l’arca della Testimonianza, di uscire dal Giordano".
Joshua 4:17 So Joshua gave orders to the priests, saying, Come up now out of Jordan.	Giosuè 4:17 E Giosuè diede quest’ordine ai sacerdoti: "Uscite dal Giordano".
Joshua 4:18 And when the priests who took up the ark of the Lord's agreement came up out of Jordan and their feet came out on to dry land, the waters of Jordan went back to their place, overflowing its edges as before.	Giosuè 4:18 E avvenne che, come i sacerdoti che portavan l’arca del patto dell’Eterno furono usciti di mezzo al Giordano e le piante de’ loro piedi si furon alzate e posate sull’asciutto, le acque del Giordano tornarono al loro posto, e strariparon da per tutto, come prima.
Joshua 4:19 So on the tenth day of the first month the people came up out of Jordan, and put up their tents in Gilgal, on the east side of Jericho.	Giosuè 4:19 Il popolo uscì dal Giordano il decimo giorno del primo mese, e s’accampò a Ghilgal, all’estremità orientale di Gerico.
Joshua 4:20 And the twelve stones which they took out of Jordan, Joshua put up in Gilgal.	Giosuè 4:20 E Giosuè rizzò in Ghilgal le dodici pietre ch’essi avean prese dal Giordano.
Joshua 4:21 And he said to the children of Israel, When your children say to their fathers in time to come, What is the reason for these stones?	Giosuè 4:21 Poi parlò ai figliuoli d’Israele e disse loro: "Quando, in avvenire, i vostri figliuoli domanderanno ai loro padri: Che significano queste pietre?
Joshua 4:22 Then give your children the story, and say, Israel came over this river Jordan on dry land.	Giosuè 4:22 voi lo farete sapere ai vostri figliuoli dicendo: Israele passò questo Giordano per l’asciutto.
Joshua 4:23 For the Lord your God made the waters of Jordan dry before you till you had gone across, as he did to the Red Sea, drying it up before us till we had gone across:	Giosuè 4:23 Poiché l’Eterno, il vostro Dio, ha asciugato le acque del Giordano davanti a voi finché voi foste passati, come l’Eterno, il vostro Dio, fece al mar Rosso ch’egli asciugò finché fossimo passati,
Joshua 4:24 So that all the peoples of the earth may see that the hand of the Lord is strong; and that they may go in fear of the Lord your God for ever.	Giosuè 4:24 onde tutti i popoli della terra riconoscano che la mano dell’Eterno è potente, e voi temiate in ogni tempo l’Eterno, il vostro Dio".
