|
| And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, | Poi l’Eterno parlò a Mosè e ad Aaronne, dicendo loro: |
| Say to the children of Israel: These are the living things which you may have for food among all the beasts on the earth. | "Parlate così ai figliuoli d’Israele: Questi sono gli animali che potrete mangiare fra tutte le bestie che sono sulla terra. |
| You may have as food any beast which has a division in the horn of its foot, and whose food comes back into its mouth to be crushed again. | Mangerete d’ogni animale che ha l’unghia spartita e ha il piè forcuto, e che rumina. |
| But, at the same time, of those beasts, you may not take for food the camel, because its food comes back but the horn of its foot is not parted in two; it is unclean to you. | Ma di fra quelli che ruminano e di fra quelli che hanno l’unghia spartita, non mangerete questi: il cammello, perché rumina, ma non ha l’unghia spartita; lo considererete come impuro; |
| And the rock-badger, for the same reason, is unclean to you. | il coniglio, perché rumina, ma non ha l’unghia spartita; lo considererete come impuro; |
| And the hare, because the horn of its foot is not parted in two, is unclean to you. | la lepre, perché rumina, ma non ha l’unghia spartita; la considererete come impura; |
| And the pig is unclean to you, because though the horn of its foot is parted, its food does not come back. | il porco, perché ha l’unghia spartita e il piè forcuto, ma non rumina; lo considererete come impuro. |
| Their flesh may not be used for food, and their dead bodies may not even be touched; they are unclean to you. | Non mangerete della loro carne e non toccherete i loro corpo morti; li considererete come impuri. |
| These you may have for food of all things living in the water: anything living in the water, in the seas or rivers, which has special parts for swimming and skin formed of thin plates, may be used for food. | Questi sono gli animali che potrete mangiare fra tutti quelli che sono nell’acqua. Mangerete tutto ciò che ha pinne e scaglie nelle acque, tanto ne’ i mari quanto ne’ fiumi. |
| All other things living and moving in the water, in the sea or in the rivers, are a disgusting thing to you; | Ma tutto ciò che non ha né pinne né scaglie, tanto ne’ mari quanto ne’ fiumi, fra tutto ciò che si muove nelle acque e tutto ciò che vive nelle acque, l’avrete in abominio. |
| They may not be used for food, and their dead bodies are disgusting to you. | Essi vi saranno in abominio; non mangerete della loro carne, e avrete in abominio i loro corpi morti. |
| Anything in the water which has no special parts for swimming and no thin plates on its skin is disgusting to you. | Tutto ciò che non ha né pinne né scaglie nelle acque vi sarà in abominio. |
| And among birds these are to be disgusting to you, and not to be used for food: the eagle and the gier-eagle and the ospray; | E fra gli uccelli avrete in abominio questi: non se ne mangi; sono un abominio: l’aquila, l’ossifraga e l’aquila di mare; |
| And the kite and the falcon, and birds of that sort; | il nibbio e ogni specie di falco; |
| Every raven, and birds of that sort; | ogni specie di corvo; |
| And the ostrich and the night-hawk and the sea-hawk, and birds of that sort; | lo struzzo, il barbagianni, il gabbiano e ogni specie di sparviere; |
| And the little owl and the cormorant and the great owl; | il gufo, lo smergo, l’ibi; |
| And the water-hen and the pelican and the vulture; | il cigno, il pellicano, l’avvoltoio; |
| The stork and the heron, and birds of that sort, and the hoopoe and the bat. | la cicogna, ogni specie di airone, l’upupa e il pipistrello. |
| Every winged four-footed thing which goes on the earth is disgusting to you; | Vi sarà pure in abominio ogni insetto alato che cammina su quattro piedi. |
| But of the winged four-footed things, those which have long legs for jumping on the earth you may have for food; | Però, fra tutti gl’insetti alati che camminano su quattro piedi, mangerete quelli che hanno gambe al disopra de’ piedi per saltare sulla terra. |
| Such as all the different sorts of locust. | Di questi potrete mangiare: ogni specie di cavalletta, ogni specie di solam, ogni specie di hargol e ogni specie di hagab. |
| But all other winged four-footed things which go on the earth are disgusting to you. | Ogni altro insetto alato che ha quattro piedi vi sarà in abominio. |
| By these you will be made unclean; anyone touching their dead bodies will be unclean till evening: | Questi animali vi renderanno impuri; chiunque toccherà il loro corpo morto sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| Whoever takes away the dead body of one of them is to have his clothing washed, and will be unclean till evening. | E chiunque porterà i loro corpi morti si laverà le vesti, e sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| Every beast, in the horn of whose foot there is not a complete division, and whose food does not come back, is unclean to you: anyone touching one of these will be unclean. | Considererete come impuro ogni animale che ha l’unghia spartita, ma non ha il piè forcuto, e che non rumina; chiunque lo toccherà sarà impuro. |
| Any four-footed beast which goes on the ball of its foot, is unclean to you: anyone touching the dead body of one of these will be unclean till evening. | Considererete come impuri tutti i quadrupedi che camminano sulla pianta de’ piedi; chiunque toccherà il loro corpo morto sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| Anyone who takes away the dead body of one of these is to have his clothing washed and be unclean till evening. | E chiunque porterà i loro corpi morti si laverà le vesti, e sarà immondo fino alla sera. Questi animali considererete come impuri. |
| And these are unclean to you among things which go low down on the earth; the weasel and the mouse and the great lizard, and animals of that sort; | E fra i piccoli animali che strisciano sulla terra, considererete come impuri questi: la talpa, il topo e ogni specie di lucertola, il toporagno, |
| And the ferret and the land crocodile and the lizard and the sand-lizard and the chameleon. | la rana, la tartaruga, la lumaca, il camaleonte. |
| All these are unclean to you: anyone touching them when they are dead will be unclean till evening. | Questi animali, fra tutto ciò che striscia, saranno impuri per voi; chiunque li toccherà morti, sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| The dead body of any of these, falling on anything, will make that thing unclean; if it is any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or bag, whatever it is, if it is used for any purpose, it will have to be put into water, and will be unclean till evening; after that it will be clean. | Ogni oggetto sul quale cadrà qualcun d’essi quando sarà morto, sarà immondo: siano utensili di legno, o veste, o pelle, o sacco, o qualunque altro oggetto di cui si faccia uso; sarà messo nell’acqua, e sarà impuro fino alla sera; poi sarà puro. |
| And if one of them gets into any vessel of earth, whatever is in the vessel will be unclean and the vessel will have to be broken. | E se ne cade qualcuno in un vaso di terra, tutto quello che vi si troverà dentro sarà impuro, e spezzerete il vaso. |
| Any food in it, and anything on which water from it comes, will be unclean: any drink taken from such a vessel will be unclean. | Ogni cibo che serve al nutrimento, sul quale sarà caduta di quell’acqua, sarà impuro; e ogni bevanda di cui si fa uso, qualunque sia il vaso che la contiene, sarà impura. |
| Any part of the dead body of one of these, falling on anything, will make it unclean; if it is an oven or a cooking-pot it will have to be broken: they are unclean and will be unclean to you. | Ogni oggetto sul quale cadrà qualcosa del loro corpo morto, sarà impuro; il forno o il fornello sarà spezzato; sono impuri, e li considererete come impuri. |
| But at the same time a fountain or a place where water is stored for use will be clean; but anyone touching their dead bodies will be unclean. | Però, una fonte o una cisterna, dov’è una raccolta d’acqua, sarà pura; ma chi toccherà i loro corpi morti sarà impuro. |
| If any part of the dead body of one of these gets on to any seed for planting, it is clean; | E se qualcosa de’ loro corpi morti cade su qualche seme che dev’esser seminato, questo sarà puro; |
| But if water is put on the seed, and any part of the dead body gets on to it, it will be unclean to you. | ma se è stata messa dell’acqua sul seme, e vi cade su qualcosa de’ loro corpi morti, lo considererai come impuro. |
| And if any beast which may be used for food comes to a natural death, anyone touching its dead body will be unclean till evening. | Se muore un animale di quelli che vi servono per nutrimento, colui che ne toccherà il corpo morto sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| And he who makes use of any part of its body for food is to have his clothing washed and be unclean till evening; and anyone taking away its body is to have his clothing washed and be unclean till evening. | Colui che mangerà di quel corpo morto si laverà le vesti, e sarà impuro fino alla sera; parimente colui che porterà quel corpo morto si laverà le vesti, e sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| Everything which goes flat on its body on the earth is disgusting, and is not to be used for food. | Ogni cosa che brulica sulla terra è un abominio; non se ne mangerà. |
| Whatever goes on its stomach or on four feet or has a great number of feet, even all those going flat on the earth, may not be used for food, for they are disgusting. | Di tutti gli animali che brulicano sulla terra non ne mangerete alcuno che strisci sul ventre o cammini con quattro piedi o con molti piedi, poiché sono un abominio. |
| You are not to make yourselves disgusting with anything which goes about flat on the earth; you may not make yourselves unclean with them, in such a way that you are not holy to me. | Non rendete le vostre persone abominevoli mediante alcuno di questi animali che strisciano; e non vi rendete impuri per loro mezzo, in guisa da rimaner così contaminati. |
| For I am the Lord your God: for this reason, make and keep yourselves holy, for I am holy; you are not to make yourselves unclean with any sort of thing which goes about flat on the earth. | Poiché io sono l’Eterno, l’Iddio vostro; santificatevi dunque e siate santi, perché io son santo; e non contaminate le vostre persone mediante alcuno di questi animali che strisciano sulla terra. |
| For I am the Lord, who took you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; so be you holy, for I am holy. | Poiché io sono l’Eterno che vi ho fatti salire dal paese d’Egitto, per essere il vostro Dio; siate dunque santi, perché io son santo. |
| This is the law about beasts and birds and every living thing moving in the waters, and every living thing which goes flat on the earth: | Questa è la legge concernente i quadrupedi, gli uccelli, ogni essere vivente che si muove nelle acque e ogni essere che striscia sulla terra, |
| Marking out the unclean from the clean, and the living thing which may be used for food from that which may not. | affinché sappiate discernere ciò ch’è impuro da ciò ch’è puro, l’animale che si può mangiare da quello che non si deve mangiare". |
