Levitico 26
|
| Do not make images of false gods, or put up an image cut in stone or a pillar or any pictured stone in your land, to give worship to it; for I am the Lord your God. | Non vi farete idoli, non vi eleverete immagini scolpite né statue, e non collocherete nel vostro paese alcuna pietra ornata di figure, per prostrarvi davanti ad essa; poiché io sono l’Eterno, l’Iddio vostro. |
| Keep my Sabbaths and give honour to my holy place: I am the Lord. | Osserverete i miei sabati, e porterete rispetto al mio santuario. Io sono l’Eterno. |
| If you are guided by my rules, and keep my laws and do them, | Se vi conducete secondo le mie leggi, se osservate i miei comandamenti e li mettete in pratica, |
| Then I will give you rain at the right time, and the land will give her increase and the trees of the field will give their fruit; | io vi darò le piogge nella loro stagione, la terra darà i suoi prodotti, e gli alberi della campagna daranno i loro frutti. |
| And the crushing of the grain will overtake the cutting of the grapes, and the cutting of the grapes will overtake the planting of the seed, and there will be bread in full measure, and you will be living in your land safely. | La trebbiatura vi durerà fino alla vendemmia, e la vendemmia vi durerà fino alla sementa; mangerete a sazietà il vostro pane, e abiterete in sicurtà il vostro paese. |
| And I will give you peace in the land, and you will take your rest and no one will give you cause for fear; and I will put an end to all evil beasts in the land, and no sword of war will go through your land. | Io farò che la pace regni nel paese; voi vi coricherete, e non ci sarà chi vi spaventi; farò sparire dal paese le bestie nocive, e la spada non passerà per il vostro paese. |
| And you will put to flight those who are against you, and they will be put to death by your swords. | Voi inseguirete i vostri nemici, ed essi cadranno dinanzi a voi per la spada. |
| Then five of you will put to flight a hundred, and a hundred of you will put to flight ten thousand, and all who are against you will be put to death by your swords. | Cinque di voi ne inseguiranno cento, cento di voi ne inseguiranno diecimila, e i vostri nemici cadranno dinanzi a voi per la spada. |
| And I will have pleasure in you and make you fertile and greater in number; and I will keep my agreement with you. | E io mi volgerò verso voi, vi renderò fecondi e vi moltiplicherò, e raffermerò il mio patto con voi. |
| And old stores long kept will be your food, and you will take out the old because of the new; | E voi mangerete delle raccolte vecchie, serbate a lungo, e trarrete fuori la raccolta vecchia per far posto alla nuova. |
| And I will put my holy House among you, and my soul will not be turned away from you in disgust. | Io stabilirò la mia dimora in mezzo a voi, e l’anima mia non vi aborrirà. |
| And I will be present among you and will be your God and you will be my people. | Camminerò tra voi, sarò vostro Dio, e voi sarete mio popolo. |
| I am the Lord your God, who took you out of the land of Egypt so that you might not be servants to them; by me the cords of your yoke were broken and I made you go upright. | Io sono l’Eterno, l’Iddio vostro, che vi ho tratto dal paese d’Egitto affinché non vi foste più schiavi; ho spezzato il vostro giogo, e v’ho fatto camminare a test’alta. |
| But if you do not give ear to me, and do not keep all these my laws; | Ma se non mi date ascolto e se non mettete in pratica tutti questi comandamenti, |
| And if you go against my rules and if you have hate in your souls for my decisions and you do not do all my orders, but go against my agreement; | se disprezzate le mie leggi e l’anima vostra disdegna le mie prescrizioni in guisa che non mettiate in pratica tutti i miei comandamenti e rompiate il mio patto, |
| This will I do to you: I will put fear in your hearts, even wasting disease and burning pain, drying up the eyes and making the soul feeble, and you will get no profit from your seed, for your haters will take it for food. | ecco quel che vi farò a mia volta: manderò contro voi il terrore, la consunzione e la febbre, che vi faranno venir meno gli occhi e languir l’anima, e seminerete invano la vostra sementa: la mangeranno i vostri nemici. |
| And my face will be turned from you, and you will be broken before those who are against you, and your haters will become your rulers, and you will go in flight when no man comes after you. | Volgerò la mia faccia contro di voi, e voi sarete sconfitti dai vostri nemici; quelli che vi odiano vi domineranno, e vi darete alla fuga senza che alcuno v’insegua. |
| And if, even after these things, you will not give ear to me, then I will send you punishment seven times more for your sins. | E se nemmeno dopo questo vorrete darmi ascolto, io vi castigherò sette volte di più per i vostri peccati. |
| And the pride of your strength will be broken, and I will make your heaven as iron and your earth as brass; | Spezzerò la superbia della vostra forza, farò che il vostro cielo sia come di ferro, e la vostra terra come di rame. |
| And your strength will be used up without profit; for your land will not give her increase and the trees of the field will not give their fruit. | La vostra forza si consumerà invano, poiché la vostra terra non darà i suoi prodotti, e gli alberi della campagna non daranno i loro frutti. |
| And if you still go against me and will not give ear to me, I will put seven times more punishments on you because of your sins. | E se mi resistete con la vostra condotta e non volete darmi ascolto, io vi colpirò sette volte di più, secondo i vostri peccati. |
| I will let loose the beasts of the field among you, and they will take away your children and send destruction on your cattle, so that your numbers will become small and your roads become waste. | Manderò contro di voi le fiere della campagna, che vi rapiranno i figliuoli, stermineranno il vostro bestiame, vi ridurranno a un piccol numero, e le vostre strade diverranno deserte. |
| And if by these things you will not be turned to me, but still go against me; | E se, nonostante questi castighi, non volete correggervi per tornare a me, ma con la vostra condotta mi resistete, anch’io vi resisterò, |
| Then I will go against you, and I will give you punishment, I myself, seven times for all your sins. | e vi colpirò sette volte di più per i vostri peccati. |
| And I will send a sword on you to give effect to the punishment of my agreement; and when you come together into your towns I will send disease among you and you will be given up into the hands of your haters. | E farò venir contro di voi la spada, vindice del mio patto; voi vi raccoglierete nelle vostre città, ma io manderò in mezzo a voi la peste, e sarete dati in man del nemico. |
| When I take away your bread of life, ten women will be cooking bread in one oven, and your bread will be measured out by weight; you will have food but never enough. | Quando vi toglierò il pane che sostiene, dieci donne coceranno il vostro pane in uno stesso forno, vi distribuiranno il vostro pane a peso, e mangerete, ma non vi sazierete. |
| And if, after all this, you do not give ear to me, but go against me still, | E se, nonostante tutto questo, non volete darmi ascolto ma con la vostra condotta mi resistete, |
| Then my wrath will be burning against you, and I will give you punishment, I myself, seven times for your sins. | anch’io vi resisterò con furore, e vi castigherò sette volte di più per i vostri peccati. |
| Then you will take the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters for food; | Mangerete la carne dei vostri figliuoli, e mangerete la carne delle vostre figliuole. |
| And I will send destruction on your high places, overturning your perfume altars, and will put your dead bodies on your broken images, and my soul will be turned from you in disgust. | Io devasterò i vostri alti luoghi, distruggerò le vostre statue consacrate al sole, metterò i vostri cadaveri sui cadaveri dei vostri idoli, e l’anima mia vi aborrirà. |
| And I will make your towns waste and send destruction on your holy places; I will take no pleasure in the smell of your sweet perfumes; | E ridurrò le vostre città in deserti, desolerò i vostri santuari, e non aspirerò più il soave odore dei vostri profumi. |
| And I will make your land a waste, a wonder to your haters living in it. | Desolerò il paese; e i vostri nemici che vi abiteranno, ne saranno stupefatti. |
| And I will send you out in all directions among the nations, and my sword will be uncovered against you, and your land will be without any living thing, and your towns will be made waste. | E, quanto a voi, io vi disperderò fra le nazioni, e vi darò dietro a spada tratta; il vostro paese sarà desolato, e le vostre città saranno deserte. |
| Then will the land take pleasure in its Sabbaths while it is waste and you are living in the land of your haters; then will the land have rest. | Allora la terra si godrà i suoi sabati per tutto il tempo che rimarrà desolata e che voi sarete nel paese dei vostri nemici; allora la terra si riposerà e si godrà i suoi sabati. |
| All the days while it is waste will the land have rest, such rest as it never had in your Sabbaths, when you were living in it. | Per tutto il tempo che rimarrà desolata avrà il riposo che non ebbe nei vostri sabati, quando voi l’abitavate. |
| And as for the rest of you, I will make their hearts feeble in the land of their haters, and the sound of a leaf moved by the wind will send them in flight, and they will go in flight as from the sword, falling down when no one comes after them; | Quanto ai superstiti fra voi, io renderò pusillanime il loro cuore nel paese dei loro nemici: il rumore d’una foglia agitata li metterà in fuga; fuggiranno come si fugge dinanzi alla spada, e cadranno senza che alcuno l’insegua. |
| Falling on one another, as before the sword, when no one comes after them; you will give way before your haters. | Precipiteranno l’uno sopra l’altro come davanti alla spada, senza che alcuno l’insegua, e voi non potrete resistere dinanzi ai vostri nemici. |
| And death will overtake you among strange nations, and the land of your haters will be your destruction. | E perirete fra le nazioni, e il paese de’ vostri nemici vi divorerà. |
| And those of you who are still living will be wasting away in their sins in the land of your haters; in the sins of their fathers they will be wasting away. | I superstiti fra voi si struggeranno nei paesi de’ loro nemici, a motivo delle proprie iniquità; e si struggeranno pure a motivo delle iniquità dei loro padri. |
| And they will have grief for their sins and for the sins of their fathers, when their hearts were untrue to me, and they went against me; | E confesseranno la loro iniquità e l’iniquità dei loro padri: l’iniquità delle trasgressioni commesse contro di me e della resistenza oppostami, |
| So that I went against them and sent them away into the land of their haters: if then the pride of their hearts is broken and they take the punishment of their sins, | peccati per i quali anch’io avrò dovuto resister loro, e menarli nel paese de’ loro nemici. Ma se allora il cuor loro incirconciso si umilierà, e se accetteranno la punizione della loro iniquità, |
| Then I will keep in mind the agreement which I made with Jacob and with Isaac and with Abraham, and I will keep in mind the land. | io mi ricorderò del mio patto con Giacobbe, mi ricorderò del mio patto con Isacco e del mio patto con Abrahamo, e mi ricorderò del paese; |
| And the land, while she is without them, will keep her Sabbaths; and they will undergo the punishment of their sins, because they were turned away from my decisions and in their souls was hate for my laws. | poiché il paese sarà abbandonato da loro, e si godrà i suoi sabati mentre rimarrà desolato, senza di loro, ed essi accetteranno la punizione della loro iniquità per aver disprezzato le mie prescrizioni e aver avuto in avversione le mie leggi. |
| But for all that, when they are in the land of their haters I will not let them go, or be turned away from them, or give them up completely; my agreement with them will not be broken, for I am the Lord their God. | E, nonostante tutto questo, quando saranno nel paese dei loro nemici, io non li disprezzerò e non li prenderò in avversione fino al punto d’annientarli del tutto e di rompere il mio patto con loro; poiché io sono l’Eterno, il loro Dio; |
| And because of them I will keep in mind the agreement which I made with their fathers, whom I took out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, to be their God: I am the Lord. | ma per amor d’essi mi ricorderò del patto stretto coi loro antenati, i quali trassi dal paese d’Egitto, nel cospetto delle nazioni, per essere il loro Dio. Io sono l’Eterno". |
| These are the rules, decisions, and laws, which the Lord made between himself and the children of Israel in Mount Sinai, by the hand of Moses. | Tali sono gli statuti, le prescrizioni e le leggi che l’Eterno stabilì fra sé e i figliuoli d’Israele, sul monte Sinai, per mezzo di Mosè. |
