Numbers 24:1 Now when Balaam saw that it was the Lord's pleasure to give his blessing to Israel, he did not, as at other times, make use of secret arts, but turning his face to the waste land,	Numeri 24:1 E Balaam, vedendo che piaceva all’Eterno di benedire Israele, non ricorse come le altre volte alla magia, ma voltò la faccia verso il deserto.
Numbers 24:2 And lifting up his eyes, he saw Israel there, with their tents in the order of their tribes: and the spirit of God came on him.	Numeri 24:2 E, alzati gli occhi, Balaam vide Israele accampato tribù per tribù; e lo spirito di Dio fu sopra lui.
Numbers 24:3 And moved by the spirit, he said, These are the words of Balaam, son of Beor, the words of the man whose eyes are open:	Numeri 24:3 E Balaam pronunziò il suo oracolo e disse: "Così dice Balaam, figliuolo di Beor, così dice l’uomo che ha l’occhio aperto,
Numbers 24:4 He says, whose ears are open to the words of God, who has seen the vision of the Ruler of all, falling down, but having his eyes open:	Numeri 24:4 così dice colui che ode le parole di Dio, colui che contempla la visione dell’Onnipotente, colui che si prostra e a cui s’aprono gli occhi:
Numbers 24:5 How fair are your tents, O Jacob, your houses, O Israel!	Numeri 24:5 Come son belle le tue tende, o Giacobbe, le tue dimore, o Israele!
Numbers 24:6 They are stretched out like valleys, like gardens by the riverside, like flowering trees planted by the Lord, like cedar-trees by the waters.	Numeri 24:6 Esse si estendono come valli, come giardini in riva ad un fiume, come aloe piantati dall’Eterno, come cedri vicini alle acque.
Numbers 24:7 Peoples will be in fear before his strength, his arm will be on great nations: his king will be higher than Agag, and his kingdom made great in honour.	Numeri 24:7 L’acqua trabocca dalle sue secchie, la sua semenza è bene adacquata, il suo re sarà più in alto di Agag, e il suo regno sarà esaltato.
Numbers 24:8 It is God who has taken him out of Egypt; his horns are like those of the mountain ox; the nations warring against him will be his food, their bones will be broken, they will be wounded with his arrows.	Numeri 24:8 Iddio che l’ha tratto d’Egitto, gli dà il vigore del bufalo. Egli divorerà i popoli che gli sono avversari, frantumerà loro le ossa, li trafiggerà con le sue frecce.
Numbers 24:9 He took his sleep stretched out like a lion, and like a she-lion: by whom will his rest be broken? May a blessing be on everyone who gives you blessing, and a curse on everyone by whom you are cursed.	Numeri 24:9 Egli si china, s’accovaccia come un leone, come una leonessa: chi lo farà rizzare? Benedetto chiunque ti benedice maledetto chiunque ti maledice!"
Numbers 24:10 Then Balak was full of wrath against Balaam, and angrily waving his hands he said to Balaam, I sent for you so that those who are against me might be cursed, but now, see, three times you have given them a blessing.	Numeri 24:10 Allora l’ira di Balak s’accese contro Balaam; e Balak, battendo le mani, disse a Balaam: "Io t’ho chiamato per maledire i miei nemici, ed ecco che li hai benedetti già per la terza volta.
Numbers 24:11 Go back quickly to the place you came from: it was my purpose to give you a place of honour, but now the Lord has kept you back from honour.	Numeri 24:11 Or dunque fuggitene a casa tua! Io avevo detto che ti colmerei di onori; ma, ecco, l’Eterno ti rifiuta gli onori".
Numbers 24:12 Then Balaam said to Balak, Did I not say to the men you sent to me,	Numeri 24:12 E Balaam rispose a Balak: "E non dissi io, fin da principio, agli ambasciatori che mi mandasti:
Numbers 24:13 Even if Balak gave me his house full of silver and gold, it would not be possible for me to go outside the orders of the Lord, doing good or evil at the impulse of my mind; whatever the Lord says I will say?	Numeri 24:13 Quand’anche Balak mi desse la sua casa piena d’argento e d’oro, non potrei trasgredire l’ordine dell’Eterno per far di mia iniziativa alcun che di bene o di male; ciò che l’Eterno dirà, quello dirò?
Numbers 24:14 So now I will go back to my people: but first let me make clear to you what this people will do to your people in days to come.	Numeri 24:14 Ed ora, ecco, io me ne vado al mio popolo; vieni, io t’annunzierò ciò che questo popolo farà al popolo tuo nei giorni avvenire".
Numbers 24:15 Then he went on with his story and said, These are the words of Balaam, the son of Beor, the words of him whose eyes are open:	Numeri 24:15 Allora Balaam pronunziò il suo oracolo e disse: "Così dice Balaam, figliuolo di Beor; così dice l’uomo che ha l’occhio aperto,
Numbers 24:16 He says, whose ear is open to the words of God, who has knowledge of the Most High, who has seen the vision of the Ruler of all, falling down and having his eyes open:	Numeri 24:16 così dice colui che ode le parole di Dio, che conosce la scienza dell’Altissimo, che contempla la visione dell’Onnipotente, colui che si prostra e a cui s’aprono gli occhi:
Numbers 24:17 I see him, but not now: looking on him, but not near: a star will come out of Jacob, and a rod of authority out of Israel, sending destruction to the farthest limits of Moab and on the head of all the sons of Sheth.	Numeri 24:17 Lo vedo, ma non ora; lo contemplo, ma non vicino: un astro sorge da Giacobbe, e uno scettro s’eleva da Israele, che colpirà Moab da un capo all’altro e abbatterà tutta quella razza turbolenta.
Numbers 24:18 Edom will be his heritage, and he will put an end to the last of the people of Seir.	Numeri 24:18 S’impadronirà di Edom, s’impadronirà di Seir, suo nemico; Israele farà prodezze.
Numbers 24:19 And Israel will go on in strength, and Jacob will have rule over his haters.	Numeri 24:19 Da Giacobbe verrà un dominatore che sterminerà i superstiti delle città.
Numbers 24:20 Then, turning his eyes to Amalek, he went on with his story and said, Amalek was the first of the nations, but his part will be destruction for ever.	Numeri 24:20 Balaam vide anche Amalek, e pronunziò il suo oracolo, dicendo: "Amalek è la prima delle nazioni ma il suo avvenire fa capo alla rovina".
Numbers 24:21 And looking on the Kenites he went on with his story and said, Strong is your living-place, and your secret place is safe in the rock.	Numeri 24:21 Vide anche i Kenei, e pronunziò il suo oracolo, dicendo: "La tua dimora è solida e il tuo nido è posto nella roccia;
Numbers 24:22 But still the Kenites will be wasted, till Asshur takes you away prisoner.	Numeri 24:22 nondimeno, il Keneo dovrà essere devastato, finché l’Assiro ti meni in cattività".
Numbers 24:23 Then he went on with his story and said, But who may keep his life when God does this?	Numeri 24:23 Poi pronunziò di nuovo il suo oracolo e disse: "Ahimè! Chi sussisterà quando Iddio avrà stabilito colui?
Numbers 24:24 But ships will come from the direction of Kittim, troubling Asshur and troubling Eber, and like the others their fate will be destruction.	Numeri 24:24 Ma delle navi verranno dalle parti di Kittim e umilieranno Assur, umilieranno Eber, ed egli pure finirà per esser distrutto".
Numbers 24:25 Then Balaam got up and went back to his place: and Balak went away.	Numeri 24:25 Poi Balaam si levò, partì e se ne tornò a casa sua; e Balak pure se ne andò per la sua strada.
