| Will he who is protesting give teaching to the Ruler of all? Let him who has arguments to put forward against God give an answer. | И продолжал Господь и сказал Иову: |
| And Job said in answer to the Lord, | будет ли состязающийся со Вседержителем еще учить? Обличающий Бога пусть отвечает Ему. |
| Truly, I am of no value; what answer may I give to you? I will put my hand on my mouth. | И отвечал Иов Господу и сказал: |
| I have said once, and even twice, what was in my mind, but I will not do so again. | вот, я ничтожен; что буду я отвечать Тебе? Руку мою полагаю на уста мои. |
| Then the Lord made answer to Job out of the storm-wind, and said, | Однажды я говорил, --теперь отвечать не буду, даже дважды, но более не буду. |
| Get your strength together like a man of war: I will put questions to you, and you will give me the answers. | И отвечал Господь Иову из бури и сказал: |
| Will you even make my right of no value? will you say that I am wrong in order to make clear that you are right? | препояшь, как муж, чресла твои: Я буду спрашивать тебя, а ты объясняй Мне. |
| Have you an arm like God? have you a voice of thunder like his? | Ты хочешь ниспровергнуть суд Мой, обвинить Меня, чтобы оправдать себя? |
| Put on the ornaments of your pride; be clothed with glory and power: | Такая ли у тебя мышца, как у Бога? И можешь ли возгреметь голосом, как Он? |
| Let your wrath be overflowing; let your eyes see all the sons of pride, and make them low. | Укрась же себя величием и славою, облекись в блеск и великолепие; |
| Send destruction on all who are lifted up, pulling down the sinners from their places. | излей ярость гнева твоего, посмотри на все гордое и смири его; |
| Let them be covered together in the dust; let their faces be dark in the secret place of the underworld. | взгляни на всех высокомерных и унизь их, и сокруши нечестивых на местах их; |
| Then I will give praise to you, saying that your right hand is able to give you salvation. | зарой всех их в землю и лица их покрой тьмою. |
| See now the Great Beast, whom I made, even as I made you; he takes grass for food, like the ox. | Тогда и Я признаю, что десница твоя может спасать тебя. |
| His strength is in his body, and his force in the muscles of his stomach. | Вот бегемот, которого Я создал, как и тебя; он ест траву, как вол; |
| His tail is curving like a cedar; the muscles of his legs are joined together. | вот, его сила в чреслах его и крепость его в мускулах чрева его; |
| His bones are pipes of brass, his legs are like rods of iron. | поворачивает хвостом своим, как кедром; жилы же на бедрах его переплетены; |
| He is the chief of the ways of God, made by him for his pleasure. | ноги у него, как медные трубы; кости у него, как железные прутья; |
| He takes the produce of the mountains, where all the beasts of the field are at play. | это--верх путей Божиих; только Сотворивший его может приблизить к нему меч Свой; |
| He takes his rest under the trees of the river, and in the pool, under the shade of the water-plants. | горы приносят ему пищу, и там все звери полевые играют; |
| He is covered by the branches of the trees; the grasses of the stream are round him. | он ложится под тенистыми деревьями, под кровом тростника и в болотах; |
| Truly, if the river is overflowing, it gives him no cause for fear; he has no sense of danger, even if Jordan is rushing against his mouth. | тенистые дерева покрывают его своею тенью; ивы при ручьях окружают его; |
| Will anyone take him when he is on the watch, | вот, он пьет из реки и не торопится; остается спокоен, хотя бы Иордан устремился ко рту его. |
| or put metal teeth through his nose? | Возьмет ли кто его в глазах его и проколет ли ему нос багром? |
