Exodus 5:1 And after that, Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and said, The Lord, the God of Israel, says, Let my people go so that they may keep a feast to me in the waste land.	Exodo 5:1 Después entraron Moisés y Aarón á Faraón, y le dijeron: Jehová, el Dios de Israel, dice así: Deja ir á mi pueblo á celebrarme fiesta en el desierto.
Exodus 5:2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, to whose voice I am to give ear and let Israel go? I have no knowledge of the Lord and I will not let Israel go.	Exodo 5:2 Y Faraón respondió: ¿Quién es Jehová, para que yo oiga su voz y deje ir á Israel? Yo no conozco á Jehová, ni tampoco dejaré ir á Israel.
Exodus 5:3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews has come to us: let us then go three days' journey into the waste land to make an offering to the Lord our God, so that he may not send death on us by disease or the sword.	Exodo 5:3 Y ellos dijeron: El Dios de los Hebreos nos ha encontrado: iremos, pues, ahora camino de tres días por el desierto, y sacrificaremos á Jehová nuestro Dios; porque no venga sobre nosotros con pestilencia ó con espada.
Exodus 5:4 And the king of Egypt said to them, Why do you, Moses and Aaron, take the people away from their work? get back to your work.	Exodo 5:4 Entonces el rey de Egipto les dijo: Moisés y Aarón, ¿por qué hacéis cesar al pueblo de su obra? idos á vuestros cargos.
Exodus 5:5 And Pharaoh said, Truly, the people of the land are increasing in number, and you are keeping them back from their work.	Exodo 5:5 Dijo también Faraón: He aquí el pueblo de la tierra es ahora mucho, y vosotros les hacéis cesar de sus cargos.
Exodus 5:6 The same day Pharaoh gave orders to the overseers and those who were responsible for the work, saying,	Exodo 5:6 Y mandó Faraón aquel mismo día á los cuadrilleros del pueblo que le tenían á su cargo, y á sus gobernadores, diciendo:
Exodus 5:7 Give these men no more dry stems for their brick-making as you have been doing; let them go and get the material for themselves.	Exodo 5:7 De aquí adelante no daréis paja al pueblo para hacer ladrillo, como ayer y antes de ayer; vayan ellos y recojan por sí mismos la paja:
Exodus 5:8 But see that they make the same number of bricks as before, and no less: for they have no love for work; and so they are crying out and saying, Let us go and make an offering to our God.	Exodo 5:8 Y habéis de ponerles la tarea del ladrillo que hacían antes, y no les disminuiréis nada; porque están ociosos, y por eso levantan la voz diciendo: Vamos y sacrificaremos á nuestro Dios.
Exodus 5:9 Give the men harder work, and see that they do it; let them not give attention to false words.	Exodo 5:9 Agrávese la servidumbre sobre ellos, para que se ocupen en ella, y no atiendan á palabras de mentira.
Exodus 5:10 And the overseers of the people and their responsible men went out and said to the people, Pharaoh says, I will give you no more dry stems.	Exodo 5:10 Y saliendo los cuadrilleros del pueblo y sus gobernadores, hablaron al pueblo, diciendo: Así ha dicho Faraón: Yo no os doy paja.
Exodus 5:11 Go yourselves and get dry stems wherever you are able; for your work is not to be any less.	Exodo 5:11 Id vosotros, y recoged paja donde la hallareis; que nada se disminuirá de vuestra tarea.
Exodus 5:12 So the people were sent in all directions through the land of Egypt to get dry grass for stems.	Exodo 5:12 Entonces el pueblo se derramó por toda la tierra de Egipto á coger rastrojo en lugar de paja.
Exodus 5:13 And the overseers went on driving them and saying, Do your full day's work as before when there were dry stems for you.	Exodo 5:13 Y los cuadrilleros los apremiaban, diciendo: Acabad vuestra obra, la tarea del día en su día, como cuando se os daba paja.
Exodus 5:14 And the responsible men of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh's overseers had put over them, were given blows, and they said to them, Why have you not done your regular work, in making bricks as before?	Exodo 5:14 Y azotaban á los capataces de los hijos de Israel, que los cuadrilleros de Faraón habían puesto sobre ellos, diciendo: ¿Por qué no habéis cumplido vuestra tarea de ladrillo ni ayer ni hoy, como antes?
Exodus 5:15 Then the responsible men of the children of Israel came to Pharaoh, protesting and saying, Why are you acting in this way to your servants?	Exodo 5:15 Y los capataces de los hijos de Israel vinieron á Faraón, y se quejaron á él, diciendo: ¿Por qué lo haces así con tus siervos?
Exodus 5:16 They give us no dry stems and they say to us, Make bricks: and they give your servants blows; but it is your people who are in the wrong.	Exodo 5:16 No se da paja á tus siervos, y con todo nos dicen: Haced el ladrillo. Y he aquí tus siervos son azotados, y tu pueblo cae en falta.
Exodus 5:17 But he said, You have no love for work: that is why you say, Let us go and make an offering to the Lord.	Exodo 5:17 Y él respondió: Estáis ociosos, sí, ociosos, y por eso decís: Vamos y sacrifiquemos á Jehová.
Exodus 5:18 Go now, get back to your work; no dry stems will be given to you, but you are to make the full number of bricks.	Exodo 5:18 Id pues ahora, y trabajad. No se os dará paja, y habéis de dar la tarea del ladrillo.
Exodus 5:19 Then the responsible men of the children of Israel saw that they were purposing evil when they said, The number of bricks which you have to make every day will be no less than before.	Exodo 5:19 Entonces los capataces de los hijos de Israel se vieron en aflicción, habiéndoseles dicho: No se disminuirá nada de vuestro ladrillo, de la tarea de cada día.
Exodus 5:20 And they came face to face with Moses and Aaron, who were in their way when they came out from Pharaoh:	Exodo 5:20 Y encontrando á Moisés y á Aarón, que estaban á la vista de ellos cuando salían de Faraón,
Exodus 5:21 And they said to them, May the Lord take note of you and be your judge; for you have given Pharaoh and his servants a bad opinion of us, putting a sword in their hands for our destruction.	Exodo 5:21 Dijéronles: Mire Jehová sobre vosotros, y juzgue; pues habéis hecho heder nuestro olor delante de Faraón y de sus siervos, dándoles el cuchillo en las manos para que nos maten.
Exodus 5:22 And Moses went back to the Lord and said, Lord, why have you done evil to this people? why have you sent me?	Exodo 5:22 Entonces Moisés se volvió á Jehová, y dijo: Señor, ¿por qué afliges á este pueblo? ¿para qué me enviaste?
Exodus 5:23 For from the time when I came to Pharaoh to put your words before him, he has done evil to this people, and you have given them no help.	Exodo 5:23 Porque desde que yo vine á Faraón para hablarle en tu nombre, ha afligido á este pueblo; y tú tampoco has librado á tu pueblo.
