| The word of the Lord came to me again, saying, | Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo: |
| Son of man, there were two women, daughters of one mother: | Hijo del hombre, hubo dos mujeres, hijas de una madre, |
| They were acting like loose women in Egypt; when they were young their behaviour was loose: there their breasts were crushed, even the points of their young breasts were crushed. | Las cuales fornicaron en Egipto; en sus mocedades fornicaron. Allí fueron apretados sus pechos, y allí fueron estrujados los pechos de su virginidad. |
| Their names were Oholah, the older, and Oholibah, her sister: and they became mine, and gave birth to sons and daughters. As for their names, Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem, Oholibah. | Y llamábanse, la mayor, Aholah, y su hermana, Aholibah; las cuales fueron mías, y parieron hijos é hijas. Y llamáronse, Samaria, Aholah; y Jerusalem, Aholibah. |
| And Oholah was untrue to me when she was mine; she was full of desire for her lovers, even for the Assyrians, her neighbours, | Y Aholah cometió fornicación en mi poder: y prendóse de sus amantes, los Asirios sus vecinos, |
| Who were clothed in blue, captains and rulers, all of them young men to be desired, horsemen seated on horses. | Vestidos de cárdeno, capitanes y príncipes, mancebos todos de codiciar, caballeros que andaban á caballo. |
| And she gave her unclean love to them, all of them the noblest men of Assyria: and she made herself unclean with the images of all who were desired by her. | Y puso sus fornicaciones con ellos, con todos los más escogidos de los hijos de los Asirios, y con todos aquellos de quienes se enamoró: contaminóse con todos los ídolos de ellos. |
| And she has not given up her loose ways from the time when she was in Egypt; for when she was young they were her lovers, and by them her young breasts were crushed, and they let loose on her their unclean desire. | Y no dejó sus fornicaciones de Egipto: porque con ella se echaron en su mocedad, y ellos comprimieron los pechos de su virginidad, y derramaron sobre ella su fornicación. |
| For this cause I gave her up into the hands of her lovers, into the hands of the Assyrians on whom her desire was fixed. | Por lo cual la entregué en mano de sus amantes, en mano de los hijos de los Asirios, de quienes se había enamorado. |
| By these her shame was uncovered: they took her sons and daughters and put her to death with the sword: and she became a cause of wonder to women; for they gave her the punishment which was right. | Ellos descubrieron sus vergüenzas, tomaron sus hijos y sus hijas, y á ella mataron á cuchillo: y vino á ser de nombre entre las mujeres, pues en ella hicieron juicios. |
| And her sister Oholibah saw this, but her desire was even more unmeasured, and her loose behaviour was worse than that of her sister. | Y viólo su hermana Aholibah, y estragó su amor más que ella; y sus fornicaciones, más que las fornicaciones de su hermana. |
| She was full of desire for the Assyrians, captains and rulers, her neighbours, clothed in blue, horsemen going on horses, all of them young men to be desired. | Enamoróse de los hijos de los Asirios, sus vecinos, capitanes y príncipes, vestidos en perfección, caballeros que andaban á caballo, todos ellos mancebos de codiciar. |
| And I saw that she had become unclean; the two of them went the same way. | Y vi que se había contaminado: un camino era el de ambas. |
| And her loose behaviour became worse; for she saw men pictured on a wall, pictures of the Chaldaeans painted in bright red, | Y aumentó sus fornicaciones: pues cuando vió hombres pintados en la pared, imágenes de Caldeos pintadas de color, |
| With bands round their bodies and with head-dresses hanging round their heads, all of them looking like rulers, like the Babylonians, the land of whose birth is Chaldaea. | Ceñidos de talabartes por sus lomos, y tiaras pintadas en sus cabezas, teniendo todos ellos parecer de capitanes, á la manera de los hombres de Babilonia, nacidos en tierra de Caldeos, |
| And when she saw them she was full of desire for them, and sent servants to them in Chaldaea. | Enamoróse de ellos en viéndolos, y envióles mensajeros á la tierra de los Caldeos. |
| And the Babylonians came to her, into the bed of love, and made her unclean with their loose desire, and she became unclean with them, and her soul was turned from them. | Y entraron á ella los hombres de Babilonia á la cama de los amores, y contamináronla con su fornicación; y ella también se contaminó con ellos, y su deseo se hartó de ellos. |
| So her loose behaviour was clearly seen and her shame uncovered: then my soul was turned from her as it had been turned from her sister. | Así hizo patentes sus fornicaciones, y descubrió sus vergüenzas: por lo cual mi alma se hartó de ella, como se había ya hartado mi alma de su hermana. |
| But still she went on the more with her loose behaviour, keeping in mind the early days when she had been a loose woman in the land of Egypt. | Aun multiplicó sus fornicaciones trayendo en memoria los días de su mocedad, en los cuales había fornicado en la tierra de Egipto. |
| And she was full of desire for her lovers, whose flesh is like the flesh of asses and whose seed is like the seed of horses. | Y enamoróse de sus rufianes, cuya carne es como carne de asnos, y cuyo flujo como flujo de caballos. |
| And she made the memory of the loose ways of her early years come back to mind, when her young breasts were crushed by the Egyptians. | Así tornaste á la memoria la suciedad de tu mocedad, cuando comprimieron tus pechos en Egipto por los pechos de tu mocedad. |
| For this cause, O Oholibah, this is what the Lord has said: See, I will make your lovers come up against you, even those from whom your soul is turned away in disgust; and I will make them come up against you on every side; | Por tanto, Aholibah, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: He aquí que yo despierto tus amantes contra ti, de los cuales se hartó tu deseo, y yo les haré venir contra ti en derredor; |
| The Babylonians and all the Chaldaeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: young men to be desired, captains and rulers all of them, and chiefs, her neighbours, all of them on horseback. | Los de Babilonia, y todos los Caldeos, mayordomos, y príncipes, y capitanes, todos los de Asiria con ellos: mancebos todos ellos de codiciar, capitanes y príncipes, nobles y principales, que montan á caballo todos ellos. |
| And they will come against you from the north on horseback, with war-carriages and a great band of peoples; they will put themselves in order against you with breastplate and body-cover and metal head-dress round about you: and I will make them your judges, and they will give their decision against you as seems right to them. | Y vendrán sobre ti carros, carretas, y ruedas, y multitud de pueblos. Escudos, y paveses, y capacetes pondrán contra ti en derredor; y yo daré el juicio delante de ellos, y por sus leyes te juzgarán. |
| And my bitter feeling will be working against you, and they will take you in hand with passion; they will take away your nose and your ears, and the rest of you will be put to the sword: they will take your sons and daughters, and the rest of you will be burned up in the fire. | Y pondré mi celo contra ti, y obrarán contigo con furor; quitarte han tu nariz y tus orejas; y lo que te quedare caerá á cuchillo. Ellos tomarán tus hijos y tus hijas, y tu residuo será consumido por el fuego. |
| And they will take all your clothing off you and take away your ornaments. | Y te desnudarán de tus vestidos, y tomarán los vasos de tu gloria. |
| So I will put an end to your evil ways and your loose behaviour which came from the land of Egypt: and your eyes will never be lifted up to them again, and you will have no more memory of Egypt. | Y haré cesar de ti tu suciedad, y tu fornicación de la tierra de Egipto: ni más levantarás á ellos tus ojos, ni nunca más te acordarás de Egipto. |
| For this is what the Lord has said: See, I will give you up into the hands of those who are hated by you, into the hands of those from whom your soul is turned away in disgust: | Porque así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: He aquí, yo te entrego en mano de aquellos que tú aborreciste, en mano de aquellos de los cuales se hartó tu deseo: |
| And they will take you in hand with hate, and take away all the fruit of your work, and let you be unveiled and without clothing: and the shame of your loose behaviour will be uncovered, your evil designs and your loose ways. | Los cuales obrarán contigo con odio, y tomarán todo lo que tú trabajaste, y te dejarán desnuda y descubierta: y descubriráse la torpeza de tus fornicaciones, y tu suciedad, y tus fornicaciones. |
| They will do these things to you because you have been untrue to me, and have gone after the nations, and have become unclean with their images. | Estas cosas se harán contigo, porque fornicaste en pos de las gentes, con las cuales te contaminaste en sus ídolos. |
| You have gone in the way of your sister; and I will give her cup into your hand. | En el camino de tu hermana anduviste: yo pues pondré su cáliz en tu mano. |
| This is what the Lord has said: You will take a drink from your sister's cup, which is deep and wide: you will be laughed at and looked down on, more than you are able to undergo. | Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Beberás el hondo y ancho cáliz de tu hermana; de ti se mofarán las gentes, y te escarnecerán: de grande cabida es. |
| You will be broken and full of sorrow, with the cup of wonder and destruction, with the cup of your sister Samaria. | Serás llena de embriaguez y de dolor por el cáliz de soledad y de asolamiento, por el cáliz de tu hermana Samaria. |
| And after drinking it and draining it out, you will take the last drops of it to the end, pulling off your breasts: for I have said it, says the Lord. | Lo beberás pues, y lo agotarás, y quebrarás sus tiestos; y tus pechos arrancarás; porque yo he hablado, dice el Señor Jehová. |
| So this is what the Lord has said: Because you have not kept me in your memory, and because your back has been turned to me, you will even undergo the punishment of your evil designs and your loose ways. | Por tanto, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Por cuanto te has olvidado de mí, y me has echado tras tus espaldas, por eso, lleva tú también tu suciedad y tus fornicaciones. |
| Then the Lord said to me: Son of man, will you be the judge of Oholibah? then make clear to her the disgusting things she has done. | Y díjome Jehová: Hijo del hombre, ¿no juzgarás tú á Aholah, y á Aholibah, y les denunciarás sus abominaciones? |
| For she has been false to me, and blood is on her hands, and with her images she has been untrue; and more than this, she made her sons, whom she had by me, go through the fire to them to be burned up. | Porque han adulterado, y hay sangre en sus manos, y han fornicado con sus ídolos; y aun sus hijos que me habían engendrado, hicieron pasar por el fuego, quemándolos. |
| Further, this is what she has done to me: she has made my holy place unclean and has made my Sabbaths unclean. | Aun esto más me hicieron: contaminaron mi santuario en aquel día, y profanaron mis sábados; |
| For when she had made an offering of her children to her images, she came into my holy place to make it unclean; see, this is what she has done inside my house. | Pues habiendo sacrificado sus hijos á sus ídolos, entrábanse en mi santuario el mismo día para contaminarlo: y he aquí, así hicieron en medio de mi casa. |
| And she even sent for men to come from far away, to whom a servant was sent, and they came: for whom she was washing her body and painting her eyes and making herself fair with ornaments. | Y cuanto más, que enviaron por hombres que vienen de lejos, á los cuales había sido enviado mensajero: y he aquí vinieron; y por amor de ellos te lavaste, y alcoholaste tus ojos, y te ataviaste con adornos: |
| And she took her seat on a great bed, with a table put ready before it on which she put my perfume and my oil. | Y te sentaste sobre suntuoso estrado, y fué adornada mesa delante de él, y sobre ella pusiste mi perfume y mi óleo. |
| ... and they put jewels on her hands and beautiful crowns on her head. | Y oyóse en ella voz de compañía en holganza: y con los varones fueron traídos de la gente común los Sabeos del desierto; y pusieron manillas sobre sus manos, y coronas de gloria sobre sus cabezas. |
| Then I said ... now she will go on with her loose ways. | Y dije á la envejecida en adulterios: Sus prostituciones cumplirán ellos ahora, y ella con ellos: |
| And they went in to her, as men go to a loose woman: so they went in to Oholibah, the loose woman. | Porque han venido á ella como quien viene á mujer ramera: así vinieron á Aholah y á Aholibah, mujeres depravadas. |
| And upright men will be her judges, judging her as false wives and women who take lives are judged; because she has been untrue to me and blood is on her hands. | Por tanto, hombres justos las juzgarán por la ley de las adúlteras, y por la ley de las que derraman sangre: porque son adúlteras, y sangre hay en sus manos. |
| For this is what the Lord has said: I will make a great meeting of the people come together against her, and will send on her shaking fear and take everything from her. | Por lo que así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Yo haré subir contra ellas compañías, las entregaré á turbación y á rapiña: |
| And the meeting, after stoning her with stones, will put an end to her with their swords; they will put her sons and daughters to death and have her house burned up with fire. | Y la compañía de gentes las apedreará con piedras, y las acuchillará con sus espadas: matarán á sus hijos y á sus hijas, y sus casas consumirán con fuego. |
| And I will put an end to evil in all the land, teaching all women not to do as you have done. | Y haré cesar la depravación de la tierra, y escarmentarán todas las mujeres, y no harán según vuestra torpeza. |
| And I will send on you the punishment of your evil ways, and you will be rewarded for your sins with your images: and you will be certain that I am the Lord. | Y sobre vosotras pondrán vuestra obscenidad, y llevaréis los pecados de vuestros ídolos; y sabréis que yo soy el Señor Jehová. |
