Isaías 8
|
| And the Lord said to me, Take a great writing-board, and on it put down in common letters, Maher-shalal-hash-baz; | Y DIJOME Jehová: Tómate un gran volumen, y escribe en él en estilo de hombre tocante á Maher-salal-hash-baz. |
| And take true witnesses to the writing, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah, the son of Jeberechiah. | Y junté conmigo por testigos fieles á Urías sacerdote, y á Zacarías hijo de Jeberechîas. |
| And I went in to my wife, and she became with child, and gave birth to a son. Then the Lord said to me, Give him the name Maher-shalal-hash-baz, | Y juntéme con la profetisa, la cual concibió, y parió un hijo. Y díjome Jehová: Ponle por nombre Maher-salal-hash-baz. |
| For before the child is able to say, Father, or, Mother, the wealth of Damascus and the goods of Samaria will be taken away by the king of Assyria. | Porque antes que el niño sepa decir, Padre mío, y Madre mía, será quitada la fuerza de Damasco y los despojos de Samaria, en la presencia del rey de Asiria. |
| And the Lord said again to me, | Otra vez tornó Jehová á hablarme, diciendo: |
| Because this people will have nothing to do with the softly-flowing waters of Shiloah, and have fear of Rezin and Remaliah's son; | Por cuanto desechó este pueblo las aguas de Siloé, que corren mansamente, y holgóse con Rezín y con el hijo de Remalías, |
| For this cause the Lord is sending on them the waters of the River, deep and strong, even the king of Assyria and all his glory: and it will come up through all its streams, overflowing all its edges: | He aquí por tanto que el Señor hace subir sobre ellos aguas de ríos, impetuosas y muchas, á saber, al rey de Asiria con todo su poder; el cual subirá sobre todos sus ríos, y pasará sobre todas sus riberas: |
| And it will come on into Judah; rushing on and overflowing, till the waters are up to the neck; *** and his outstretched wings will be covering the land from side to side: for God is with us. | Y pasando hasta Judá, inundará, y sobrepujará, y llegará hasta la garganta; y extendiendo sus alas, llenará la anchura de tu tierra, oh Emmanuel. |
| Have knowledge, O peoples, and be in fear; give ear, all you far-off parts of the earth: | Juntaos, pueblos, y seréis quebrantados; oid todos los que sois de lejanas tierras: poneos á punto, y seréis quebrantados; apercibíos, y seréis quebrantados. |
| Let your designs be formed, and they will come to nothing; give your orders, and they will not be effected: for God is with us. | Tomad consejo, y será deshecho; proferid palabra, y no será firme: porque Dios con nosotros. |
| For the Lord, controlling me with a strong hand, gave me orders not to go in the way of this people, saying, | Porque Jehová me dijo de esta manera con mano fuerte, y enseñóme que no caminase por el camino de este pueblo, diciendo: |
| Do not say, It is holy, about everything of which this people says, It is holy; and do not be in fear of what they go in fear of. | No digáis, Conjuración, á todas las cosas á que este pueblo dice, Conjuración, ni temáis lo que temen, ni tengáis miedo. |
| But let the Lord of armies be holy to you, and go in fear of him, giving honour to him. | A Jehová de los ejércitos, á él santificad: sea él vuestro temor, y él sea vuestro miedo. |
| And he will be for a holy place: but for a stone of falling and a rock of trouble to the two houses of Israel, and to the men of Jerusalem, for a net in which they may be taken. | Entonces él será por santuario; mas á las dos casas de Israel por piedra para tropezar, y por tropezadero para caer, y por lazo y por red al morador de Jerusalem. |
| And numbers of them, falling on the stone, will be broken, and will be taken in the net. | Y muchos tropezarán entre ellos, y caerán, y serán quebrantados: enredaránse, y serán presos. |
| Let my teaching be kept secret: and my words be given to my disciples only. | Ata el testimonio, sella la ley entre mis discípulos. |
| And I will be waiting for the Lord, whose face is veiled from the house of Jacob, and I will be looking for him. | Esperaré pues á Jehová, el cual escondió su rostro de la casa de Jacob, y á él aguardaré. |
| See, I and the children whom the Lord has given me, are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of armies, whose resting-place is in Mount Zion. | He aquí, yo y los hijos que me dió Jehová, por señales y prodigios en Israel, de parte de Jehová de los ejércitos que mora en el monte de Sión. |
| And when they say to you, Make request for us to those who have control of spirits, and to those wise in secret arts, who make hollow bird-like sounds; is it not right for a people to make request to their gods, to make request for the living to the dead? | Y si os dijeren: Preguntad á los pythones y á los adivinos, que susurran hablando, responded: ¿No consultará el pueblo á su Dios? ¿Apelará por los vivos á los muertos? |
| Then say to them, Put your faith in the teaching and the witness. ... If they do not say such things. ... For him there is no dawn. ... | ¡A la ley y al testimonio! Si no dijeren conforme á esto, es porque no les ha amanecido. |
| And he will go through the land in bitter trouble and in need of food; and when he is unable to get food, he will become angry, cursing his king and his God, and his eyes will be turned to heaven on high; | Y pasarán por él fatigados y hambrientos, y acontecerá que teniendo hambre, se enojarán y maldecirán á su rey y á su Dios, levantando el rostro en alto. |
| And he will be looking down on the earth, and there will be trouble and dark clouds, black night where there is no seeing. | Y mirarán á la tierra, y he aquí tribulación y tiniebla, oscuridad y angustia; y serán sumidos en las tinieblas. |
