Numbers 25	Números 25
Numbers 25:1 Now when Israel was living in Shittim the people became false to the Lord, doing evil with the daughters of Moab:	Números 25:1 Y Reposo Israel en Sittim, y el pueblo empezó á fornicar con las hijas de Moab:
Numbers 25:2 For they sent for the people to be present at the offerings made to their gods; and the people took part in their feasts and gave honour to their gods.	Números 25:2 Las cuales llamaron al pueblo á los sacrificios de sus dioses: y el pueblo comió, é inclinóse á sus dioses.
Numbers 25:3 So Israel had relations with the women of Moab in honour of the Baal of Peor: and the Lord was moved to wrath against Israel.	Números 25:3 Y allegóse el pueblo á Baal-peor; y el furor de Jehová se encendió contra Israel.
Numbers 25:4 Then the Lord said to Moses, Take all the chiefs of the people, hanging them up in the sun before the Lord, so that the wrath of the Lord may be turned from Israel.	Números 25:4 Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Toma todos los príncipes del pueblo, y ahórcalos á Jehová delante del sol; y la ira del furor de Jehová se apartará de Israel.
Numbers 25:5 So Moses said to the judges of Israel, Let everyone put to death those of his men who have had relations with the women of Moab in honour of the Baal of Peor.	Números 25:5 Entonces Moisés dijo á los jueces de Israel: Matad cada uno á aquellos de los suyos que se han allegado á Baal-peor.
Numbers 25:6 Then one of the children of Israel came to his brothers, taking with him a woman of Midian, before the eyes of Moses and all the meeting of the people, while they were weeping at the door of the Tent of meeting.	Números 25:6 Y he aquí un varón de los hijos de Israel vino y trajo una Madianita á sus hermanos, á ojos de Moisés y de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, llorando ellos á la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio.
Numbers 25:7 And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, seeing it, got up from among the people and took a spear in his hand,	Números 25:7 Y viólo Phinees, hijo de Eleazar, hijo de Aarón el sacerdote, y levantóse de en medio de la congregación, y tomó una lanza en su mano:
Numbers 25:8 And went after the man of Israel into the tent, driving the spear through the two of them, through the man of Israel and through the stomach of the woman. So the disease was stopped among the children of Israel.	Números 25:8 Y fué tras el varón de Israel á la tienda, y alanceólos á ambos, al varón de Israel, y á la mujer por su vientre. Y cesó la mortandad de los hijos de Israel.
Numbers 25:9 But twenty-four thousand of them had come to their death by the disease.	Números 25:9 Y murieron de aquella mortandad veinte y cuatro mil.
Numbers 25:10 And the Lord said to Moses,	Números 25:10 Entonces Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:
Numbers 25:11 Through Phinehas, and because of his passion for my honour, my wrath has been turned away from the children of Israel, so that I have not sent destruction on them all in my wrath.	Números 25:11 Phinees, hijo de Eleazar, hijo de Aarón el sacerdote, ha hecho tornar mi furor de los hijos de Israel, llevado de celo entre ellos: por lo cual yo no he consumido en mi celo á los hijos de Israel.
Numbers 25:12 So say to them that I will make with him an agreement of peace:	Números 25:12 Por tanto di les: He aquí yo establezco mi pacto de paz con él;
Numbers 25:13 And by this agreement, he and his sons after him have the right to be priests for ever; because, by his care for the honour of his God, he took away the sin of the children of Israel.	Números 25:13 Y tendrá él, y su simiente después de él, el pacto del sacerdocio perpetuo; por cuanto tuvo celo por su Dios, é hizo expiación por los hijos de Israel.
Numbers 25:14 Now the man of Israel who was put to death with the woman of Midian was Zimri, the son of Salu, a chief of one of the families of the Simeonites.	Números 25:14 Y el nombre del varón muerto, que fué muerto con la Madianita, era Zimri hijo de Salu, jefe de una familia de la tribu de Simeón.
Numbers 25:15 And the woman of Midian who was put to death was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was the head of a family in Midian.	Números 25:15 Y el nombre de la mujer Madianita muerta, era Cozbi, hija de Zur, príncipe de pueblos, padre de familia en Madián.
Numbers 25:16 Then the Lord said to Moses,	Números 25:16 Y Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:
Numbers 25:17 Take up arms against the Midianites and overcome them;	Números 25:17 Hostilizaréis á los Madianitas, y los heriréis:
Numbers 25:18 For they are a danger to you with their false ways, causing sin to come on you in the question of Peor, and because of Cozbi, their sister, the daughter of the chief of Midian, who was put to death at the time of the disease which came on you because of Peor.	Números 25:18 Por cuanto ellos os afligieron á vosotros con sus ardides, con que os han engañado en el negocio de Peor, y en el negocio de Cozbi, hija del príncipe de Madián, su hermana, la cual fué muerta el día de la mortandad por causa de Peor.
