| Why do you keep far away, O Lord? why are you not to be seen in times of trouble? | ¿POR qué estás lejos, oh Jehová, Y te escondes en el tiempo de la tribulación? |
| The evil-doer in his pride is cruel to the poor; let him be taken by the tricks of his invention. | Con arrogancia el malo persigue al pobre: Serán cogidos en los artificios que han ideado. |
| For the evil-doer is lifted up because of the purpose of his heart, and he whose mind is fixed on wealth is turned away from the Lord, saying evil against him. | Por cuanto se alaba el malo del deseo de su alma, Y bendice al codicioso ó quien Jehová aborrece. |
| The evil-doer in his pride says, God will not make a search. All his thoughts are, There is no God. | El malo, por la altivez de su rostro, no busca á Dios: No hay Dios en todos sus pensamientos. |
| His ways are ever fixed; your decisions are higher than he may see: as for his haters, they are as nothing to him. | Sus caminos son viciosos en todo tiempo: Tus juicios los tiene muy lejos de su vista: Echa bocanadas en orden á todos sus enemigos. |
| He has said in his heart, I will not be moved: through all generations I will never be in trouble. | Dice en su corazón: No seré movido en ningún tiempo, Ni jamás me alcanzará el infortunio. |
| His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and false words: under his tongue are evil purposes and dark thoughts. | Llena está su boca de maldición, y de engaños y fraude: Debajo de su lengua, vejación y maldad. |
| He is waiting in the dark places of the towns: in the secret places he puts to death those who have done no wrong: his eyes are secretly turned against the poor. | Está en las guaridas de las aldeas: En los escondrijos mata al inocente: Sus ojos están acechando al pobre. |
| He keeps himself in a secret place like a lion in his hole, waiting to put his hands on the poor man, and pulling him into his net. | Acecha en oculto, como el león desde su cama: Acecha para arrebatar al pobre: Arrebata al pobre trayéndolo á su red. |
| The upright are crushed and made low, and the feeble are overcome by his strong ones. | Encógese, agáchase, Y caen en sus fuerzas muchos desdichados. |
| He says in his heart, God has no memory of me: his face is turned away; he will never see it. | Dice en su corazón: Dios está olvidado, Ha encubierto su rostro; nunca lo verá. |
| Up! O Lord; let your hand be lifted: give thought to the poor. | Levántate, oh Jehová Dios, alza tu mano, No te olvides de los pobres. |
| Why has the evil-doer a low opinion of God, saying in his heart, You will not make search for it? | ¿Por qué irrita el malo á Dios? En su corazón ha dicho que no lo inquirirás. |
| You have seen it; for your eyes are on sorrow and grief, to take it into your hand: the poor man puts his faith in you; you have been the helper of the child who has no father. | Tú lo tienes visto: porque tú miras el trabajo, y la vejación, para vengar le por tu mano: A ti se acoge el pobre, Tú eres el amparo del huérfano. |
| Let the arm of the sinner and the evil-doer be broken; go on searching for his sin till there is no more. | Quebranta el brazo del malo: Del maligno buscarás su maldad, hasta que ninguna halles. |
| The Lord is King for ever and ever; the nations are gone from his land. | Jehová, Rey eterno y perpetuo: De su tierra fueron destruídas las gentes. |
| Lord, you have given ear to the prayer of the poor: you will make strong their hearts, you will give them a hearing: | El deseo de los humildes oíste, oh Jehová: Tú dispones su corazón, y haces atento tu oído; |
| To give decision for the child without a father and for the broken-hearted, so that the man of the earth may no longer be feared. | Para juzgar al huérfano y al pobre, A fin de que no vuelva más á hacer violencia el hombre de la tierra. |
