|
| O give praise to the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy is unchanging for ever. | ALABAD á Jehová, porque es bueno; Porque para siempre es su misericordia. |
| Let those whose cause the Lord has taken up say so, his people whom he has taken out of the hands of their haters; | Digan lo los redimidos de Jehová, Los que ha redimido del poder del enemigo, |
| Making them come together out of all the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. | Y los ha congregado de las tierras, Del oriente y del occidente, Del aquilón y de la mar. |
| They were wandering in the waste places; they saw no way to a resting-place. | Anduvieron perdidos por el desierto, por la soledad sin camino, No hallando ciudad de población. |
| Their souls became feeble for need of food and drink. | Hambrientos y sedientos, Su alma desfallecía en ellos. |
| Then they sent up their cry to the Lord in their sorrow, and he gave them salvation out of all their troubles; | Habiendo empero clamado á Jehová en su angustia, Librólos de sus aflicciones: |
| Guiding them in the right way, so that they might come into the town of their resting-place. | Y dirigiólos por camino derecho, Para que viniesen á ciudad de población. |
| Let men give praise to the Lord for his mercy, and for the wonders which he does for the children of men! | Alaben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres. |
| He gives its desire to the unresting soul, so that it is full of good things. | Porque sació al alma menesterosa, Y llenó de bien al alma hambrienta. |
| Those who were in the dark, in the black night, in chains of sorrow and iron; | Los que moraban en tinieblas y sombra de muerte, Aprisionados en aflicción y en hierros; |
| Because they went against the words of God, and gave no thought to the laws of the Most High: | Por cuanto fueron rebeldes á las palabras de Jehová, Y aborrecieron el consejo del Altísimo. |
| So that he made their hearts weighted down with grief; they were falling, and had no helper. | Por lo que quebrantó él con trabajo sus corazones, Cayeron y no hubo quien los ayudase; |
| Then they sent up their cry to the Lord in their sorrow, and he gave them salvation out of all their troubles. | Luego que clamaron á Jehová en su angustia, Librólos de sus aflicciones. |
| He took them out of the dark and the black night, and all their chains were broken. | Sacólos de las tinieblas y de la sombra de muerte, Y rompió sus prisiones. |
| Let men give praise to the Lord for his mercy, and for the wonders which he does for the children of men! | Alaben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres. |
| The doors of brass are broken by his arm, and the bands of iron are cut in two. | Porque quebrantó las puertas de bronce, Y desmenuzó los cerrojos de hierro. |
| Foolish men, because of their sins, and because of their wrongdoing, are troubled; | Los insensatos, á causa del camino de su rebelión Y á causa de sus maldades, fueron afligidos. |
| They are disgusted by all food, and they come near to the doors of death. | Su alma abominó toda vianda, Y llegaron hasta las puertas de la muerte. |
| Then they send up their cry to the Lord in their sorrow, and he gives them salvation out of all their troubles. | Mas clamaron á Jehová en su angustia, Y salvólos de sus aflicciones. |
| He sent his word and made them well, and kept them safe from the underworld. | Envió su palabra, y curólos, Y librólos de su ruina. |
| Let men give praise to the Lord for his mercy, and for the wonders which he does for the children of men! | Alaben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres: |
| Let them make offerings of praise, giving news of his works with cries of joy. | Y sacrifiquen sacrificios de alabanza, Y publiquen sus obras con júbilo. |
| Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in the great waters; | Los que descienden á la mar en navíos, Y hacen negocio en las muchas aguas, |
| They see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep. | Ellos han visto las obras de Jehová, Y sus maravillas en el profundo. |
| For at his word comes up the storm-wind, lifting high the waves. | El dijo, é hizo saltar el viento de la tempestad, Que levanta sus ondas. |
| The sailors go up to heaven, and down into the deep; their souls are wasted because of their trouble. | Suben á los cielos, descienden á los abismos: Sus almas se derriten con el mal. |
| They are turned here and there, rolling like a man who is full of wine; and all their wisdom comes to nothing. | Tiemblan, y titubean como borrachos, Y toda su ciencia es perdida. |
| Then they send up their cry to the Lord in their sorrow, and he gives them salvation out of all their troubles. | Claman empero á Jehová en su angustia, Y líbralos de sus aflicciones. |
| He makes the storm into a calm, so that the waves are at peace. | Hace parar la tempestad en sosiego, Y se apaciguan sus ondas. |
| Then they are glad, because the sea is quiet, and he takes them to the harbour of their desire. | Alégranse luego porque se reposaron; Y él los guía al puerto que deseaban. |
| Let men give praise to the Lord for his mercy, and for the wonders which he does for the children of men! | Alaben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres. |
| Let them give glory to him in the meeting of the people, and praise among the chiefs. | Y ensálcenlo en la congregación del pueblo; Y en consistorio de ancianos lo alaben. |
| He makes rivers into waste places, and springs of water into a dry land; | El vuelve los ríos en desierto, Y los manantiales de las aguas en secadales; |
| He makes a fertile country into a salt waste, because of the sins of those who are living there. | La tierra fructífera en salados, Por la maldad de los que la habitan. |
| He makes a waste land into a place of water, and a dry land into water-springs. | Vuelve el desierto en estanques de aguas, Y la tierra seca en manantiales. |
| And there he gives the poor a resting-place, so that they may make themselves a town; | Y allí aposenta á los hambrientos, Y disponen ciudad para habitación; |
| And put seed in the fields and make vine-gardens, to give them fruit. | Y siembran campos, y plantan viñas, Y rinden crecido fruto. |
| He gives them his blessing so that they are increased greatly, and their cattle do not become less. | Y los bendice, y se multiplican en gran manera; Y no disminuye sus bestias. |
| And when they are made low, and crushed by trouble and sorrow, | Y luego son menoscabados y abatidos A causa de tiranía, de males y congojas. |
| He puts an end to the pride of kings, and sends them wandering in the waste lands where there is no way. | El derrama menosprecio sobre los príncipes, Y les hace andar errados, vagabundos, sin camino: |
| But he puts the poor man on high from his troubles, and gives him families like a flock. | Y levanta al pobre de la miseria, Y hace multiplicar las familias como rebaños de ovejas. |
| The upright see it and are glad: the mouth of the sinner is stopped. | Vean los rectos, y alégrense; Y toda maldad cierre su boca. |
| Let the wise give thought to these things, and see the mercies of the Lord. | ¿Quién es sabio y guardará estas cosas, Y entenderá las misericordias de Jehová? |
