Ezra 5:1 Now the prophets Haggai and Zechariah, the son of Iddo, were preaching to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel.	Ê-xơ-ra 5:1 Vả, tiên tri A-ghê và tiên tri Xa-cha-ri, con của Y-đô, nhơn danh Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên nói tiên tri cho các người Giu-đa ở tại xứ Giu-đa và ở Giê-ru-sa-lem.
Ezra 5:2 Then Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, got up and made a start at building the house of God at Jerusalem: and the prophets of God were with them, helping them.	Ê-xơ-ra 5:2 Xô-rô-ba-bên, con trai của Sa-anh-thi-ên, và Giê-sua, con trai của Giô-xa-đác, bèn chổi dậy, khởi cất đền Đức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, có các tiên tri của Đức Chúa Trời giúp đỡ.
Ezra 5:3 At the same time, Tattenai, ruler of the land across the river, and Shethar-bozenai, and their men, came to them and said, Who gave you orders to go on building this house and this wall?	Ê-xơ-ra 5:3 Trong lúc đó, Tát-tê-nai, quan tổng đốc của xứ phía bên nầy sông, Sê-ta-Bô-xê-nai, và các đồng liêu họ, đến tìm dân Giu-đa, mà nói cùng chúng như vầy: Ai ban lịnh cho các ngươi cất cái đền nầy và xây vách thành nầy lên?
Ezra 5:4 Then they said these words to them: What are the names of the men who are at work on this building?	Ê-xơ-ra 5:4 Chúng ta bèn nói cùng họ tên những người xây cất cái đền nầy.
Ezra 5:5 But the eye of their God was on the chiefs of the Jews, and they did not make them give up working till the question had been put before Darius and an answer had come by letter about it.	Ê-xơ-ra 5:5 Con mắt Đức Chúa Trời của chúng đoái xem các trưởng lão dân Giu-đa, nên họ không ngăn cấm chúng làm công việc, đành lòng đem việc ấy tâu lại vua Đa-ri-út, đợi đến khi vua giáng chiếu về sự ấy.
Ezra 5:6 This is a copy of the letter which Tattenai, the ruler of the land across the river, and Shethar-bozenai and his friends the Apharsachites, living across the river, sent to Darius the king:	Ê-xơ-ra 5:6 Nầy bổn sao lục tờ biểu mà Tát-tê-nai, quan tổng đốc của xứ phía bên nầy sông, Sê-ta-Bô-xê-nai, và các đồng liêu người, tức người A-phạt-sác ở bên nầy sông, tấu lên vua Đa-ri-út,
Ezra 5:7 They sent him a letter saying, To Darius the king, all peace:	Ê-xơ-ra 5:7 như lời sau nầy: Chúc vua Đa-ri-út thái bình mọi vẻ!
Ezra 5:8 This is to give the king word that we went into the land of Judah, to the house of the great God, which is made of great stones, and has its walls supported with wood, and the work is going on with industry, and they are doing it well.	Ê-xơ-ra 5:8 Chúng tôi muốn vua hay rằng chúng tôi có đi trong tỉnh Giu-đa, đến đền thờ của Đức Chúa Trời rất lớn, thấy người Giu-đa xây cất cái đền thờ ấy bằng đá nguyên khối; sườn nhà đã gác ngang qua vách rồi, và công việc làm cách kỹ lưỡng và tấn tới trong tay họ.
Ezra 5:9 Then we said to the men responsible, who gave you authority for the building of this house and these walls?	Ê-xơ-ra 5:9 Chúng tôi có hỏi các trưởng lão ấy rằng: Ai ban lịnh cho các ngươi xây cất cái đền nầy và xây vách thành nầy lên?
Ezra 5:10 And we made request for their names, so that we might send you word, and give you the names of the men at the head of them.	Ê-xơ-ra 5:10 Chúng tôi cũng hỏi danh tánh họ, đặng tâu cho vua biết các tên của những người quản suất chúng.
Ezra 5:11 And they made answer to us, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are building the house which was put up in times long past and was designed and made complete by a great king of Israel.	Ê-xơ-ra 5:11 Chúng đáp lời như vầy: Chúng tôi vốn là kẻ tôi tớ của Đức Chúa Trời, Chúa tể của trời và đất; chúng tôi đang xây cất lại cái đền thờ, đã lâu năm trước đây có một vua sang trọng của Y-sơ-ra-ên lập lên và làm cho hoàn thành.
Ezra 5:12 But when the God of heaven was moved to wrath by our fathers, he gave them up into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, the Chaldaean, who sent destruction on this house and took the people away into Babylon.	Ê-xơ-ra 5:12 Song các tổ phụ chúng tôi chọc giận Đức Chúa Trời, nên Ngài phó chúng vào tay Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, là người Canh-đê; vua ấy phá hủy đền nầy và bắt dân sự đem qua Ba-by-lôn.
Ezra 5:13 But in the first year of Cyrus, king of Babylon, Cyrus the king gave an order for the building of this house of God;	Ê-xơ-ra 5:13 Nhưng năm đời Si-ru, vua Ba-by-lôn, trị vì, vua Si-ru truyền lịnh cất lại cái đền của Đức Chúa Trời.
Ezra 5:14 And the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took from the Temple which was in Jerusalem, and put into the house of his god in Babylon, these Cyrus the king took from the house of his god in Babylon, and gave to one named Sheshbazzar, whom he had made ruler;	Ê-xơ-ra 5:14 Vua Si-ru cũng rút ra khỏi đền thờ Ba-by-lôn những chậu vàng và bạc của đền Đức Chúa Trời, mà Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa đã đoạt lấy khỏi đền thờ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, đem về trong đền thờ Ba-by-lôn; Si-ru giao các vật ấy cho danh Sết-ba-xa, mà người lập làm quan tổng đốc,
Ezra 5:15 And he said to him, Go, take these vessels, and put them in the Temple in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be put up again in its place.	Ê-xơ-ra 5:15 và nói với người rằng: Hãy lấy các khí dụng nầy, đi để trong đền thờ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, để xây cất lại nhà của Đức Chúa Trời trên chỗ cũ nó.
Ezra 5:16 Then this same Sheshbazzar came and put the house of God in Jerusalem on its bases: and from that time till now the building has been going on, but it is still not complete.	Ê-xơ-ra 5:16 Bấy giờ, Sết-ba-xa nầy đến, lập nền đền thờ của Đức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem; và từ lúc đó đến rày người ta đương xây cất nó, song chưa hoàn thành.
Ezra 5:17 So now, if it seems good to the king, let search be made in the king's store-house at Babylon, to see if it is true that an order was given by Cyrus the king for the building of this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send us word of his pleasure in connection with this business.	Ê-xơ-ra 5:17 Vậy bây giờ, nếu đẹp ý vua, xin hãy tra khảo trong kho vua tại Ba-by-lôn, xem thử thật Si-ru có ra chiếu chỉ xây cất lại cái đền của Đức Chúa Trời tại Giê-ru-sa-lem chăng. Đoạn, cầu vua giáng chiếu dạy chúng tôi ý vua về việc ấy.
