| SI habéis pues resucitado con Cristo, buscad las cosas de arriba, donde está Cristo sentado á la diestra de Dios. | If then you have a new life with Christ, give your attention to the things of heaven, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. |
| Poned la mira en las cosas de arriba, no en las de la tierra. | Keep your mind on the higher things, not on the things of earth. |
| Porque muertos sois, y vuestra vida está escondida con Cristo en Dios. | For your life on earth is done, and you have a secret life with Christ in God. |
| Cuando Cristo, vuestra vida, se manifestare, entonces vosotros también seréis manifestados con él en gloria. | At the coming of Christ who is our life, you will be seen with him in glory. |
| Amortiguad, pues, vuestros miembros que están sobre la tierra: fornicación, inmundicia, molicie, mala concupiscencia, y avaricia, que es idolatría: | Then put to death your bodies which are of the earth; wrong use of the flesh, unclean things, passion, evil desires and envy, which is the worship of strange gods; |
| Por las cuales cosas la ira de Dios viene sobre los hijos de rebelión. | Because of which the wrath of God comes on those who go against his orders; |
| En las cuales vosotros también anduvisteis en otro tiempo viviendo en ellas. | Among whom you were living in the past, when you did such things. |
| Mas ahora, dejad también vosotros todas estas cosas: ira, enojo, malicia, maledicencia, torpes palabras de vuestra boca. | But now it is right for you to put away all these things; wrath, passion, bad feeling, curses, unclean talk; |
| No mintáis los unos á los otros, habiéndoos despojado del viejo hombre con sus hechos, | Do not make false statements to one another; because you have put away the old man with all his doings, |
| Y revestídoos del nuevo, el cual por el conocimiento es renovado conforme á la imagen del que lo crió; | And have put on the new man, which has become new in knowledge after the image of his maker; |
| Donde no hay Griego ni Judío, circuncisión ni incircuncisión, bárbaro ni Scytha, siervo ni libre; mas Cristo es el todo, y en todos. | Where there is no Greek or Jew, no one with circumcision or without circumcision, no division between nations, no servant or free man: but Christ is all and in all. |
| Vestíos pues, como escogidos de Dios, santos y amados, de entrañas de misericordia, de benignidad, de humildad, de mansedumbre, de tolerancia; | As saints of God, then, holy and dearly loved, let your behaviour be marked by pity and mercy, kind feeling, a low opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, and a power of undergoing all things; |
| Sufriéndoos los unos á los otros, y perdonándoos los unos á los otros si alguno tuviere queja del otro: de la manera que Crito os perdonó, así también hacedlo vosotros. | Being gentle to one another and having forgiveness for one another, if anyone has done wrong to his brother, even as the Lord had forgiveness for you: |
| Y sobre todas estas cosas vestíos de caridad, la cual es el vínculo de la perfección. | And more than all, have love; the only way in which you may be completely joined together. |
| Y la paz de Dios gobierne en vuestros corazones, á la cual asimismo sois llamados en un cuerpo; y sed agradecidos. | And let the peace of Christ be ruling in your hearts, as it was the purpose of God for you to be one body; and give praise to God at all times. |
| La palabra de Cristo habite en vosotros en abundancia en toda sabiduría, enseñándoos y exhortándoos los unos á los otros con salmos é himnos y canciones espirituales, con gracia cantando en vuestros corazones al Señor. | Let the word of Christ be in you in all wealth of wisdom; teaching and helping one another with songs of praise and holy words, making melody to God with grace in your hearts. |
| Y todo lo que hacéis, sea de palabra, ó de hecho, hacedlo todo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias á Dios Padre por él. | And whatever you do, in word or in act, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving praise to God the Father through him. |
| Casadas, estad sujetas á vuestros maridos, como conviene en el Señor. | Wives, be under the authority of your husbands, as is right in the Lord. |
| Maridos, amad á vuestras mujeres, y no seáis desapacibles con ellas. | Husbands, have love for your wives, and be not bitter against them. |
| Hijos, obedeced á vuestros padres en todo; porque esto agrada al Señor. | Children, do the orders of your fathers and mothers in all things, for this is pleasing to the Lord. |
| Padres, no irritéis á vuestros hijos, porque no se hagan de poco ánimo. | Fathers, do not be hard on your children, so that their spirit may not be broken. |
| Siervos, obedeced en todo á vuestros amos carnales, no sirviendo al ojo, como los que agradan á los hombres, sino con sencillez de corazón, temiendo á Dios: | Servants, in all things do the orders of your natural masters; not only when their eyes are on you, as pleasers of men, but with all your heart, fearing the Lord: |
| Y todo lo que hagáis, hacedlo de ánimo, como al Señor, y no á los hombres; | Whatever you do, do it readily, as to the Lord and not to men; |
| Sabiendo que del Señor recibiréis la compensación de la herencia: porque al Señor Cristo servís. | Being certain that the Lord will give you the reward of the heritage: for you are the servants of the Lord Christ. |
| Mas el que hace injuria, recibirá la injuria que hiciere; que no hay acepción de personas. | For the wrongdoer will have punishment for the wrong he has done, without respect for any man's position. |
