Isaiah 28
|
| ¡AY de la corona de soberbia, de los ebrios de Ephraim, y de la flor caduca de la hermosura de su gloria, que está sobre la cabeza del valle fértil de los aturdidos del vino! | Ho! crown of pride of those who are given up to wine in Ephraim, and the dead flower of his glory which is on the head of those who are overcome by strong drink! |
| He aquí Jehová tiene un fuerte y poderoso: como turbión de granizo y como torbellino trastornador; como ímpetu de recias aguas que inundan, con fuerza derriba á tierra. | See, the Lord has a strong and cruel one; like a rain of ice, a storm of destruction, like the overflowing of a strong river, he will violently overcome them. |
| Con los pies será hollada la corona de soberbia de los borrachos de Ephraim; | The crown of pride of those who are given up to wine in Ephraim will be crushed under foot; |
| Y será la flor caduca de la hermosura de su gloria que está sobre la cabeza del valle fértil, como la fruta temprana, la primera del verano, la cual, en viéndola el que la mira, se la traga tan luego como la tiene á mano. | And the dead flower of his glory, which is on the head of the fertile valley, will be like the first early fruit before the summer; which a man takes and puts in his mouth the minute he sees it. |
| En aquel día Jehová de los ejércitos será por corona de gloria y diadema de hermosura á las reliquias de su pueblo; | In that day will the Lord of armies be a crown of glory, and a fair ornament, to the rest of his people; |
| Y por espíritu de juicio al que se sentare en juicio, y por fortaleza á los que harán tornar la batalla hasta la puerta. | And a spirit of wisdom to the judge, and strength to those who keep back the attackers at the door of the town. |
| Mas también éstos erraron con el vino; y con la sidra se entontecieron; el sacerdote y el profeta erraron con la sidra, fueron trastornados del vino, aturdiéronse con la sidra, erraron en la visión, tropezaron en el juicio. | And further, these are uncertain through wine, and have gone out of the right way through strong drink: the priest and the prophet are uncertain through strong drink, they are overcome by wine, they have gone out of the way through strong drink; their vision is false, they go wrong in their decisions. |
| Porque todas las mesas están llenas de vómito y suciedad, hasta no haber lugar limpio. | For all the tables are covered with coughed-up food, so that there is not a clean place. |
| ¿A quién se enseñará ciencia, ó á quién se hará entender doctrina? ¿A los quitados de la leche? ¿á los arrancados de los pechos? | To whom will he give knowledge? and to whom will he make clear the word? Will it be to those who have newly given up milk, and who have only now been taken from the breast? |
| Porque mandamiento tras mandamiento, mandato sobre mandato, renglón tras renglón, línea sobre línea, un poquito allí, otro poquito allá: | For it is one rule after another; one line after another; here a little, there a little. |
| Porque en lengua de tartamudos, y en extraña lengua hablará á este pueblo, | No, but with broken talk, and with a strange tongue, he will give his word to this people: |
| A los cuales él dijo: Este es el reposo: dad reposo al cansado; y éste es el refrigerio: mas no quisieron oir. | To whom he said, This is the rest, give rest to him who is tired; and by this you may get new strength; but they would not give ear. |
| La palabra pues de Jehová les será mandamiento tras mandamiento, mandato sobre mandato, renglón tras renglón, línea sobre línea, un poquito allí, otro poquito allá; que vayan y caigan de espaldas, y sean quebrantados, y enlazados, y presos. | For this cause the word of the Lord will be to them rule after rule, line after line, here a little, there a little; so that they may go on their way, and falling back may be broken, and taken in the net. |
| Por tanto, varones burladores, que estáis enseñoreados sobre este pueblo que está en Jerusalem, oid la palabra de Jehová. | Give ear then to the word of the Lord, you men of pride, the rulers of this people in Jerusalem: |
| Porque habéis dicho: Concierto tenemos hecho con la muerte, é hicimos acuerdo con la sepultura; cuando pasare el turbión del azote, no llegará á nosotros, pues que hemos puesto nuestra acogida en la mentira, y en la falsedad nos esconderemos: | Because you have said, We have made death our friend, and with the underworld we have made an agreement; when the overflowing waters come through they will not come near us; for we are looking to false words for help, taking cover in what is untrue: |
| Por tanto, el Señor Jehová dice así: He aquí que yo fundo en Sión una piedra, piedra de fortaleza, de esquina, de precio, de cimiento estable: el que creyere, no se apresure. | For this cause says the Lord God, See, I am placing in Zion as a base, a stone, a tested stone, an angle-stone which is certain and of great value: and he who has faith will not give way. |
| Y ajustaré el juicio á cordel, y á nivel la justicia; y granizo barrerá la acogida de la mentira, y aguas arrollarán el escondrijo. | And I will make right decision the measuring-line, and righteousness the weight: and the ice-storm will take away the safe place of false words, and the secret place will be covered by the flowing waters. |
| Y será anulado vuestro concierto con la muerte, y vuestro acuerdo con el sepulcro no será firme: cuando pasare el turbión del azote, seréis de él hollados. | And the help you were looking for from death will come to nothing, and your agreement with the underworld will be broken; when the overflowing waters come through, then you will be overcome by them. |
| Luego que comenzare á pasar, él os arrebatará; porque de mañana de mañana pasará, de día y de noche; y será que el espanto solamente haga entender lo oído. | Whenever they come through they will overtake you; for they will come through morning after morning, by day and by night: and the news will be nothing but fear. |
| Porque la cama es tan angosta que no basta, y la cubierta estrecha para recoger. | For the bed is not long enough for a man to be stretched out on: and the cover is not wide enough for him to be covered with. |
| Porque Jehová se levantará como en el monte Perasim, como en el valle de Gabaón se enojará; para hacer su obra, su extraña obra, y para hacer su operación, su extraña operación. | For the Lord will come up as on Mount Perazim, he will be moved to wrath as in the valley of Gibeon; so that he may do his work--strange is his work; and give effect to his act--unnatural is his act. |
| Ahora pues, no os burléis, porque no se aprieten más vuestras ataduras: porque consumación y acabamiento sobre toda la tierra he oído del Señor Jehová de los ejércitos. | And now, take care that you do not make sport of him, or your bands will be made strong; for I have had word from the Lord, the Lord of armies, of an end, of a complete end, which is to come on all the land. |
| Estad atentos, y oid mi voz; estad atentos, y oid mi dicho. | Let your ears be open to my voice; give attention to what I say. |
| El que ara para sembrar, ¿arará todo el día; romperá y quebrará los terrones de la tierra? | Is the ploughman for ever ploughing? does he not get the earth ready and broken up for the seed? |
| Después que hubiere igualado su superficie, ¿no derramará la neguilla, sembrará el comino, pondrá el trigo por su orden, y la cebada en su señal, y la avena en su término? | When the face of the earth has been levelled, does he not put in the different sorts of seed, and the grain in lines, and the barley in its place, and the spelt at the edge? |
| Porque su Dios le instruye, y le enseña á juicio. | For his God is his teacher, giving him the knowledge of these things. |
| Que la neguilla no se trillará con trillo, ni sobre el comino rodará rueda de carreta; sino que con un palo se sacude la neguilla, y el comino con una vara. | For the fitches are not crushed with a sharp instrument, and a cart-wheel is not rolled over the cummin; but the grain of the fitches is hammered out with a stick, and of the cummin with a rod. |
| El pan se trilla; mas no siempre lo trillará, ni lo comprimirá con la rueda de su carreta, ni lo quebrantará con los dientes de su trillo. | Is the grain for bread crushed? He does not go on crushing it for ever, but he lets his cart-wheels and his horses go over it without crushing it. |
| También esto salió de Jehová de los ejércitos, para hacer maravilloso el consejo y engrandecer la sabiduría. | This comes from the Lord of armies, purposing wonders, and wise in all his acts. |
